    Did not work well for me

    Review: “0.78-1.4in Long Barrel Attachment for Shark FlexStyle HD400 Series, Adjustable Bidirectional Curling, Auto-Wrap Curling Iron Curler, Create Bouncy Curls or Waves”I was excited to try this long barrel attachment for my Shark Flexstyle because it is bi-directional. It is such a pain in the neck to have to keep changing the barrels when styling my hair. The idea of just using one was promising. I like the shape of this barrel, skinny to wide. The ones that come with the Shark are all the same diameter. I thought it would give a different curl. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I don’t know why, but it just doesn’t have the suction power like the ones that come with the Shark. It barely picked up my hair. I thought that maybe my hair was too dry, so I wet it some more and still no luck. Then, I attached my original shark barrel attachment to see if it was me or the replacement barrel. The replacement barrel just doesn’t pick up enough hair to curl my hair. I have another replacement bidirectional barrel attachment that is different than this one and it works great. I am not sure what the issue is, but I cannot recommend this product.

    Not strong enough air flow to work.

    Doesn’t work very well compared to my shark barrels. The air suction just isn’t strong enough to hold on to my hair while it curls. Maybe it would work better for very fine hair.

    TERRIBLE purchase!!!! Don’t do it!

    This is by far one of the worst purchases I’ve ever made. This attachment does absolutely nothing. It isn’t powerful enough to even catch my hair to attach it to the barrel. I’ve been using the Shark FlexStyle long enough to know what I’m doing, so it isn’t me, it’s the attachment. PLEASE don’t waste your money. AND I don’t even have thick nor really long hair —- average thickness, average length.

    Definitely add to you attachment collection!

    You have to use this as a hair want and wrap your hair around it manually for it to work well instead of letting the machine do it for you like the other curlers that come with the machine, but I do not mind this at all. I prefer this curl size over the one that comes with the shark dryer and because the barrel is a little smaller it is allowing my curls to last longer. I have used this every time I have dried my hair since I got it in the mail. I absolutely love it. Very easy to use, feels the same quality as the attachments that came with the dryer.

    Great attachment

    Thank goodness for this bi-directional curling attachment!!!! When traveling I hated having to pack the two curling attachments and this has simplified it so much. I also find I don’t have to do super small micro sections to accommodate for longer hair length. This has made my blowdry routine so much easier and more efficient. I’ve used this for a few months now with no issues. My curls look just as good as they do with the shark attachments, but much more affordable!

    My fiancée got the hang of it faster than expected

    I got this for my fiancée because she already owns a compatible styling system and was curious whether a longer barrel would make styling easier. Her first attempt was a little awkward while figuring out the airflow direction.By the second try she was moving much faster and liked how the longer barrel handled bigger sections of hair. She mentioned that it still takes some practice to get consistent curls, especially when switching directions, but she kept reaching for it after the initial learning curve. That’s usually a good sign.

    Makes beautiful bouncy curls without damaging my hair

    I ordered this 0.78-1.4 inch Barrel Attachment to add body and curl to my hair. It fits my Shark Flexstyle model HD434WH perfectly. It twists on and locks into place with ease. I’ve only had my Flexstyle for a couple weeks and I am learning to style my hair without using a curling iron or flat iron as I’ve been doing for years. I like that with this new attachment I can add beautiful ringlet type curls without damaging my hair the way an iron would.I placed the barrel attachment close to a small section of my hair after turning the unit on. This creates a sort of suction that pulls the hair into the attachment and warm air creates the curls for me. It only took 15-20 seconds to make each curl which will be a huge time saver for me in the mornings. It smoothed my hair, reduced frizz and made bouncy curls that held all day. At the top of the barrel, there is a switch that moves left or right so you can change the direction of the airflow, which changes the direction of the curl. That feature is so handy because I won’t need to put my arm in weird and uncomfortable positions to style my hair. This is a fantastic value because it costs significantly less and works just as well! It has a good amount of weight to it and feels well made from thick, durable plastic so I expect to be able to use this barrel for years to come. A styling tool such as this is best suited for medium to longer length hair, and I wouldn’t see it being useful for super short hair. My shoulder length hair is thin and somewhat wavy so this is the perfect attachment for me.
