    Good Deep Conditioner, but Not a Hair-Growth Game Changer

    A good deep-conditioning treatment that leaves my hair somewhat smoother, shinier, and moisturized. After about a month, I haven’t seen any change in my normal hair-growth rate, and it does leave my hair heavier and oilier, so once a week is plenty for me.I’ve been using this batana oil for about a month, primarily as a weekend scalp and deep-conditioning treatment. It has a consistency similar to natural nut butter and a noticeable nutty scent. The scent isn’t unpleasant and doesn’t linger too strongly, although I can still smell it somewhat afterward.I massage it into my scalp and also work it through the lengths and ends of my hair for additional moisture, then leave it on for about 40 minutes. The consistency is easy to work with and a little goes a long way.It washes out cleanly without requiring a lot of shampoo. My hair feels conditioned enough afterward that I don’t need much additional conditioner. I’ve noticed some improvement in smoothness and shine through the lengths, and it helps reduce flyaways. However, I think some of the flyaway control comes from the additional weight the oil leaves in my hair rather than a significant change in the hair itself.That extra weight is also the biggest drawback. My hair is somewhat heavier and oilier after using it, and I generally need to wash my hair two days in a row afterward. Because of that, this is a weekend treatment for me rather than something I would use during a normal workday. Once a week seems like plenty.My scalp feels moisturized without feeling clogged or irritated, although I didn’t have noticeable dryness or flaking before using it, so after a month it’s difficult to judge how much difference it has made specifically to my scalp.I also haven’t noticed any increased hair growth beyond my normal growth rate.
