Frustrating
This is a review for the DYHOO 1.5 Inch Automatic Rotating Curling Iron. I have read the instructions and watched numerous video trying to figure this tool out, and am clearly missing some information on technique. Sometimes the hair I am feeding in gets tangled up. (Fortunately, reversing direction releases the hair.) A lot of the time, a good portion of the hair is on the outer part of the tool, away from the heated barrel. And sometimes, the hair feeds in mostly cleanly. I cannot figure out how to get it to work consistently. I need to the use the highest heat to get the curls to hold, which is surprising, since I don’t need this with other styling tools, suggesting that the heat provided by the iron is providing less than listed heat. When I get the hair to feed in properly, it gives me a nice, but quite soft curl. It’s a good concept, but the implementation is not working for me.

I bought this automatic curling iron to speed up my morning routine, and it has genuinely cut my styling time down quite a bit because the large 1.5-inch barrel holds a lot of hair at once. It gives me really pretty, natural loose waves that don’t look too tight, which is exactly what I wanted for my thick hair. In terms of curl performance, it creates a really beautiful bounce right away, and the waves actually hold their shape throughout my entire work day without dropping. I usually worry about frizz, but the ceramic barrel and negative ion generator leave my hair looking shiny and smooth without any annoying tugging. It has four temperature settings from 290°F up to 410°F, so it is easy to find the right heat for your specific hair type to maximize that duration. The safety features are a huge plus too, since the anti-scald housing saves your fingers and it shuts off automatically after 30 minutes if you happen to forget it. It is also dual voltage and lightweight enough for travel. My only minor complaint is that the controls take a second to get used to, but for the price, you get a ton of value and salon-quality results that last without spending a fortune.

Not as easy to use as I had hope
I have long, wavy hair, so when I saw this rotating curling iron I thought it might be a really easy way to get some nice curls without having to do all the work myself. Unfortunately, this was way more frustrating to use than I expected. I read through the instructions, but they didn’t really explain enough about how to actually use the tool. I ended up spending almost an hour watching YouTube tutorials just trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Even after all that, I couldn’t get a single curl that I was happy with. Honestly, I would rather risk burning my fingers with my regular curling iron than fight with this thing. The biggest issue for me was the outer prongs. They kept grabbing nearby pieces of hair and messing up the curl I was trying to create. I would then have to reverse the direction of the iron just to get my hair released. It became more frustrating than helpful pretty quickly. I completely understand that there is going to be a learning curve with a tool like this, but I feel like the learning curve is way too steep. This really needs better instructions, and honestly, video instructions would have been incredibly helpful. Maybe someone who is already familiar with this type of curling iron would have better luck, but I just couldn’t get the hang of it.

Takes Some Practice but Makes Styling Quicker and Easier
I’m quite pleased with this 1.4 Inch Automatic Rotating Ceramic Curling Iron by DYHOO. The automatic rotating feature takes a lot of the effort out of styling, making it easier to create loose waves without spending a lot of time in front of the mirror. The larger barrel is perfect for soft curls that don’t look overly tight, especially on my long, fine hair.If you aren’t accustomed to these types of stylers, it requires a little practice to get the hang of its operation. The ceramic barrel glides through my hair easily, and I had very little frizz or static once I finished. It features multiple heat settings, so it’s easy to choose the right temperature based on how much hold I want without using more heat than necessary.The anti-scald design, auto shut-off, and tangle-free operation gave me extra confidence in its safety while styling, and the dual-voltage design is a nice bonus for travel. Overall, I’m very happy with the performance, quality, and results with this rotating curling iron. It delivers beautiful results and makes curling my hair quicker and less stressful. I would absolutely purchase again if needed and certainly recommend.
