Takes some practice
I have very long, thick, but fine hair, and have always had trouble finding things that will hold my hair up without falling down after a few hours. Barrettes only last about 15 minutes, and ponytails need to be redone every few hours as they start slipping down. These bun makers work quite well for me, after a little bit of practice. The problem I am having is that my hair is too long – or my arms are too short! My hair is past my waist, and it is impossible for me to pull it far enough away from my head to get the bun maker to slide down to the end of my hair, so it makes a messy bun, with the long ends hanging out. So I tried it on my hubby’s fine, shoulder length hair. It worked perfectly, he had a very nice looking bun in his hair, and proved that it does work on fine hair. We both agree that if I got my hair trimmed, it would work nicely in my hair, too, and I do need a haircut. The best part is, we both wore them in our hair for several hours while we did some housework, and neither bun maker slipped off of our hair. It kept the hair off of my neck, and I look forward to using these bun makers when the weather is hot and sticky next summer! One thing I noticed is that when first put it on, some of my hair seemed a bit too tight, but it relaxed after a short while, and neither my husband or I could even feel them, they didn’t pull or give us any discomfort at all. With my long, thick hair, a ponytail gets a little uncomfortable after several hours, but the bun did not, which was surprising and pleasing. I recommend these to people with the patience to play with them until they figure out how to use them. And guys, you can tuck the ends under the bun so they don’t stick out, or do as my husband did, and stay in the house out of sight from the neighbors, lol!

Quick and Easy
I bought these for my Mom. She is in her 80’s and still has long hair, which she likes to wear up. However, with age comes shoulder problems, and she is unable to reach her arms up to brush or do her own hair. These little gadgets make it quick and easy to do her hair before we leave the house for doctors visits. She has had quite a few compliments on how nice her hair looks. She does have very thin hair now, so I’ve had to readjust them a time or two, but much easier to pull the bow tighter and straighten it than having her hair fall out of a bun held in place with pins. Wishing these were around years ago when I had long, thick hair!

V Tower’s Fabric Donut Hair Bun Maker
On the first day! Pleasantly surprised I managed to get my hair in a bun that held all day using one of these fabric donut bun makers. The 3 pk. I got from V Tower have sturdy wire that hold up to the twisting technique. They seem well made. After you take your hair down you can reshape them flat ready for the next use. These from V Tower are the ones with the most favorable review ratings. Good deal too. Wish they had more printed fabric ones available. Glad I got some.

Neat style, easy hair curls

These bun makers are huge! The wire inside is so thin you have to twist & twist & twist and it makes a real mess and gets tangled. Very hard to remove it from hair without pulling hair out. Guess I should have paid more attention to the description, rather than relying on the photos. Lesson learned.

As a preschool teacher, these hair bun makers are my absolute favorite! I never have to deal with hair ties snapping, falling out, or constantly readjusting my hair during a busy school day. The absolute best part for teachers or anyone working with kids is that it keeps your hair completely up and secure, which helps prevent catching lice! On top of being practical, it looks incredibly cute and professional. I get so many compliments whenever I wear them, and they are super easy to put in and take off.Just a quick tip for beginners: There is a specific way you have to fold it for it to work!Put all of your hair through the center hole. Slide the maker down as far as you can without letting any hair slip out from the sides. Start rolling it facing upright. As you roll, pull it away from your back instead of rolling it tight against your neck. Once it is rolled tight all the way to the base, simply cross the ends together to secure it, and you’re done!
