I have thinning hair and this gives it more body quick.
The pump makes it easy to get the powder on my roots. I have medium length hair and only need to use 3 to 4 pumps, and then I use my fingers to spread it throughout my hair. The bottle cap pulls off, not twists. I learned that the hard way. I have thinning hair and it makes it look fuller. It doesn’t make hair stands stick together like some other products that I use. I consider it to be a medium hold, and it has a matte finish. If I want more hold or want some shine, then I use hairspray to spray over my hair after I style it using the texture powder. I do like the matte finish because it makes my hair look natural. It is easy to use, and styling my hair is quick because it adds volume after I rub it in. It doesn’t have a scent, or at least not to me. I do have to use shampoo when I want to wash it out of my hair completely. It gives my hair more body with very little effort and it has a good hold. I love this stuff. It works extremely well for my hair.

Does Texturize and Add Volume
This Aberlite Grit + Grace Hair Texture Powder Spray is really interesting. I do like it fairly well, but you need to know what to expect here to decide if it is something you would probably like as well. This “spray” is actually just a power with a pump head to it. When you press down on it, it puffs into your hair a light covering of white texturizing powder. Be aware- this is bright white powder! You MUST work this into your hair so that you don’t see it distinctly as white powder in your hair. If you have ever used dry powder shampoo on your hair, this is not a hard concept. All hair filling in powders you must fluff around with your fingers to get the powder to be less visible. Now this texturizing powder, when you fluff it with your fingers, it turns slightly sticky in your hair. This is just its mechanism for adding the textured fluffier look you are trying to achieve. Just expect the slight sticky. I do think it works well overall. If you don’t like the matte look the powder gives, smooth a no frizz shine drop rubbed in your palms and then gently run over your hair to renew the shine of it, or spray a light spraying of shine spray to finish everything off better on the surface. Don’t worry about the texture the powder has given your hair underneath the surface. Dont forget: white powder poof, work it in lightly, expect it to feel a little sticky- no worries! It washes out fine!! Love that this is paraben-free!!

Really works to add height and texture
This product has pleasantly surprised me. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this hair powder really does work to provide height and texture. Don’t pay attention to the word “grit” in the name because this powder is soft, not gritty. It sort of reminds me of dry shampoo, but it is definitely different. It is dispensed out of the bottle in little dry sprays, or more like little puffs. You can dispense a small puff of it onto your fingers and then work it into your hair, but personally, it seems to work best for me when I put a small puff of it directly onto the roots of my hair (for example just above my forehead). I then work it in a bit with my fingers, and right away I can feel it thickening and volumizing my hair. Just a little puff of the bottle makes a big a difference, meaning this bottle will last a long time, especially considering I’m not using it over my entire head of hair. But you certainly could, and especially if your hair was shorter this product would still last a long time, I think. I have dark hair and the powder is white, but after minimal working it in with my fingers, it disappears. It does leave sort of a matte look and my hair stays soft, which I much prefer over shiny and crunchy. It basically disappears while leaving my hair feeling soft, and adding texture, thickness, and height. I’m really happy with this product.

Love so far!
Loved this product so far! It comes out like a powder and we just work it through our dry hair to give it some texture and volume. We are excited to keep using it and see how well it continues to hold up!

Very messy bottle
The product is ok. Doesn’t give as much volume as I hoped but it’s a decent texturizing powder. When it arrived it the powder was all over the box which was annoying. Also to get the powder out of the bottle it was difficult without making a mess. The powder itself isn’t bad but the packaging sucks

This was not quite what I expected in any sense of the word. I’ve used texturizers before, but this one is in a non-aerosol bottle that “puffs” powder onto the hair. It’s not what I expected, but it worked really well and gave me good control over where I sprayed, and it is aerosol free, which I love.I have fine, flat hair by nature, and this happened to arrive about half an hour before I had to leave the house unexpectedly (and unshampooed). I reached for this to try to breathe some life into my flat hair, and it did the trick! I was surprised by the “puff” of powder, but it worked into my hair quickly, and gave me some lift and separation on top. I used fingers to arrange it in a “messy-casual-on-purpose” look (at least that’s what I was going for) and was able to dash out the door without having to shampoo or fuss with trying to heat-style it back to life.The volumizing was better than the hold. It’s probably best for styles that are going to be allowed to move around a bit, but I don’t think stiff was really the texture I was going for anyway. It lasted several hours, but what impressed me was that I slept in it and in the morning I was actually able to finger-style my hair back into something presentable with the aid of this stuff. So while it’s not a firm holding product, the volume really held on! I was dubious at first, but think I like it!

Not Easy To Apply…..Very Messy To Use….I Do Not Recommend….
This Aberlite Grit + Grace Hair Texture Powder does work pretty well & at volumizing and it does have a matte finish. It is invisible when applied & it does make the hair more manageable without making it stiff or crunchy. It comes in a screw top bottle & the bottle doesn’t screw closed all the way. I was unaware that when I’d pull the top off that there would be a wide plastic whisk attached to the cap & powder went all over my table & chair leaving every surface feeling tacky. It is not convenient & it is not easy to apply.., It’s very messy. The directions on the back of the box says “Spray directly onto the roots & mid lengths”. The applicator is not a “spray”. The product description is lacking.., it does not show the applicator., nor does it show or state instructions on how to use it. Thankfully, I am familiar with texture powder., and know how to use it., but I’m sure not everyone does. I’ve also never had texture powder that was so messy to use. I recommend pulling out the cap very slowly & knocking the stick whisk on both sides of the bottle as much as possible bad your pulling it out in hopes of avoiding an unexpected mess. The powder itself is good & does work well., but the bottle cap not screwing securely onto the bottle is an issue, along with the applicator, so I’m going to pour the powder into a properly functioning bottle that has a plastic sealed top with holes so I can sprinkle it where needed. At the time of this review, it’s priced at $11.99 & it’s my opinion that it’s overpriced em compared to other comparables of the same quality. I do not recommend….

Perfect for volumizing my fine hair
I am very pleased with the performance of this hair texturizing powder. I have very fine hair and not much of it. I have tried several different types texturizing hair powders and this one is the best for me. Other products of this type have left my hair very, very sticky. With some of them, I even had to rewash my hair because it was too coated with residue to get a brush or comb through it to style it. Happily, this product provides just enough coating of texture powder to give my hair some added volume without making it gummy feeling or weighed down.I love that it is made in the USA, as you can clearly see in my second photo. It is easy to use. You just spray the powder onto the parts of your hair that you want more volume in. For me, that is the top of my head.I really like this product and just a small amount goes quite a long way, so I think that it is a good value.
