Smoothes and styles my hair to perfection!
I have been looking everywhere for a brush exactly like this! This fits my Shark FlexStyle HD400 Series hairdryer/styler. This is the older version of the Shark Flexstyle. I am so happy to finally have found this. I use this when my hair is almost 80% dry to smooth the cuticles and give myself a smooth blowout that looks like a just got my hair professionally done at the salon. I rough dry with my Shark Flexstyle and the connect this attachment so as not to damage my hair when used on straight out of the shower wet hair. My hair is a little bit wavy, but when I use my Shark Flexstyle to dry and style my hair, I just look more put together and feel so confident stepping out of my house. It claims to be anti-snag. Of course I do find hairs on this brush after using, but I have never tried a brush in which this has never occurred. So if what they mean by anti-snag is that it doesn’t tangle my hair when snagging, then that would be an accurate definition of anti-snagging. This brush doesn’t cause tangles like some other brushes I have tried. I highly recommend commend this if you have the older HD400 model Shark Flexstyle!

This attachment fits my Shark FlexStyle HD400 securely and feels well made, but I think the results will depend a lot on your hair type and styling preferences. Lacks the Tension and Heat Needed for Coarse, Curly Hair
This attachment fits my original Shark FlexStyle (HD400 series) perfectly. It locks in securely, but as the listing notes, it is not compatible with the FlexFusion or SpeedStyle models.Design and ConstructionThe attachment is made entirely of plastic. It features curved “loop” bristles on the sides and flatter, straight bristles in the center. The bristle section measures about 3.75″ by 2.5″. The bristles pivot from side to side. While this is meant to assist with styling angles, it made the head feel wobbly and significantly reduced the tension I could get on my hair. It was also tiring on my wrist to use.Performance on Curly HairI have thick-stranded, naturally curly hair that is prone to frizz. To get a smooth blowout, I need high tension and heat. This attachment fails on both counts. Unlike the Shark oval brush that comes with the dryer, this version has no metal plate to conduct and hold heat. Without boar-type bristles to grab the hair and a metallic surface to smooth it, my hair ended up a frizzy mess. I had to stop midway through and switch back to my original Shark attachment to finish the job.Usability and ValueUsing this was tiring because it took so much longer than my usual routine and I was having to hold it steady closer to the brush than the handle due to the pivoting bristles. Since the plastic bristles don’t provide enough grip, I couldn’t effectively tame my hair’s texture. At $20, the price is reasonable for a specialized attachment, but only if it performs.TL;DR: Fits the FlexStyle perfectly, but the all-plastic construction and pivoting bristles don’t provide the tension or heat conductivity necessary for my thick, curly, or frizzy hair. Works surprisingly well on curly hair
I am very impressed by this attachment. It did not pull my hair AT ALL which was a pleasant surprise. The caveat to that is that without pulling the hair, it’s hard to get enough tension to straighten out curls. By using this attachment and holding the ends of my hair to pull it straight, I was able to get somewhat smooth results. I did go back in and finish with another attachment after these photos. But I was happy with the amount that it got my curls out without heating up the whole bathroom the way a traditional hair dryer would, or pulling out w bunch of my hair like other attachments. I wish I could have gotten a little more tension on this for a more one-handed styling experience but overall it’s probably the best straightening attachment I’ve found so far.
