Easy to Use/Works
I have baby fine hair that other products made crunchy, oily, flat, fly-away, frizzy, stinky, sticky, dull (stripped away the shine), robbed the curl I just achieved, or stiff and unnatural looking and feeling. Some products flare my asthma. I almost gave up trying hair voulumizing products. But this volumizing spray smells great, doesn’t irritate my lungs or scalp and provides natural looking, healthy, voluminous hair. This does cost a bit more than my discount brands but those others were a waste of money—they didn’t work. This is a product with excellent quality. It is worth the cost to have the hairstyles I want without the expense of time and money to travel to a salon.

All natural, but it depends on your hair
I have a lot of problems with finding products suitable for my fine, wavy, breakage-prone hair. I was eager to try ARETÉ Soft Shine Texture Spray + Hair Spray for Women because the product description said it was “specifically designed to cater to fine hair, providing a texturing spray for hair that doesn’t weigh it down.” It provided shine and a soft texture, and somewhat tamed the frizzies, but I didn’t find it enhanced my curls/waves, especially once I brushed it through. I find silicones work best on me and this is free of silicone. Now when my daughter used it–medium texture, shoulder length hair, straight, occasionally heat-curled–she loved the effect. Everything seemed glossy and bouncy. So 3 stars for me, 5 for her. If all-natural is high on your list of priorities, this would be a good choice.

Quite a nice, spa-like product
You know how you feel when you leave the stylist, you feel amazing, and you know you’re going to try to re-create the look, and fail? Well. I have discovered that the products really DO make an enormous difference. I didn’t necessarily LIKE this discovery, because money, but I just flat-out will never be able to duplicate the look, feel, and scent of professionally styled hair using my discount products. (note: I can do very well with those products!! no $-shaming here, AT ALL)If you are able to treat yourself, this texture spray is a lovely addition to the hair regime. I do not like products that are heavy, sticky, smelly, locks my hair into an unmoving helmet, or dries my hair out. This does NONE of those. It smells wonderful, provides a light amount of texture and just a *tad* of shine (it will not make your hair glossy-shiny). My hair moves just as well as with nothing in it, but it also holds my styling in place longer. It has done no damage at all to my hair. I’ve added several products to my hair care routine, so I can’t specifically say, but this product might even be helping it look a little healthier. It doesn’t take care of *all* the frizz I experience on particularly humid days, but it does quite a bit.At $48 (the price at the time of this review), this is yes, a bit of a splurge for me. But I have decided that after decades of putting everyone else’s needs above mine, that I want to treat MYself a bit. This does have salon pricing. But it’s a salon-level product. I like it.

I have long, thick hair cut in long layers, and I’ve always loved the look of tousled hair with carefree fullness. Unfortunately, my hair is so heavy that I’ve never been able to achieve that look—until now. I decided to try this “Soft Shine Texture Spray + Hair Spray for Women, Barbary Fig & Zeolite Mineral Clay” by Arete because I don’t like the feel of heavy products and was drawn to its clean list of ingredients.I’ve been using this on dry hair. My method is to put my hair up in a bun, spray the product in while it’s up, let it dry completely, then take it down. This gives me great volume—the layers fall more naturally and frame my face in a more flattering way than usual. The spray holds for about 4–6 hours, which may improve in cooler, less humid weather. Great matte look
This is fantastic in my opinion. This texture spray has a nice soft hold and a matte finish. It creates a really natural look for my hair while keeping the flyaways under control and the structure of my hairstyle. I had no crunchy hair after using it. The scent is nice too, it’s almost like a licorice smell. It’s very light. I find the spray to be very non-irritating to both my hair and my scalp. This is definitely a premium product with a price to match but for what it does I think it is a very good value.

This is a very soft hold spray. It feels a bit wet to me when first applied and does not offer much lift or texture to my layers. I don’t see a lot of shine either, but after it dries it is a bit better and leaves my hair feeling a bit dry too. I like the ingredients over all. The fragrance is ok, but not outstanding. This isn’t really working for my needs and the price is too much for the value.
