Works well once you figure out the technique
This is probably my third or fourth curling iron and while I’m no expert I think I’m a pretty good judge on which ones are easy to use and effective. After spending some time with it, I’d say it works okay, but it definitely has a bit of a learning curve and isn’t the most beginner-friendly styling tool. It took me quite a while to figure out how to get the hair to properly catch and wrap in the barrel. I had the best results when I gently guided the hair around the barrel by hand before pressing the button. Once I did that, it worked more reliably.The curls themselves actually came out really nice when everything worked correctly. I also really like the built-in timer feature since it helps prevent leaving heat on your hair too long, which is a great safeguard. The curling iron itself also feels well made and sturdy. That said, it took me a lot longer than expected to get consistent results. I think this tool may work better for someone who already has experience with automatic curlers or doesn’t mind spending time learning the technique. It does have multiple temperature options and didnt get hot at the top which I found helpful and worth the price.Overall, it does produce nice curls and the price point is pretty affordable, but it’s not the most intuitive option out there and there are probably easier tools for beginners. If you have used a curler like this before and have the technique figured out, or want to start off with an affordable one to see if its something that would work for you this is a a good option but if you want easy and quick to figure out I would maybe explore other automatic curlers. It does work well it just takes some time to figure it out.

Did not work well for my long, thick, wavy hair
I was so excited to get this as I have seen it being advertised on other apps and it looked so simple.There is not much of an instruction booklet here to teach you how to use this or to do troubleshooting. I watched some videos online of how to use it and finally figured it out.I have long, thick, wavy hair. This product would likely work the best on someone with shorter hair and not as thick as mine. It worked well when I figured out how to do it, but you can only do small chunks of hair at a time and it takes a long time.You take one chunk of hair and then let it twirl it around, then it beeps when you have it in the right position, then you have to wait for a few seconds (maybe 10 seconds?) to hold it in place so it can get heated thoroughly like a curling iron would. Then it beeps again when it is done. If you follow these steps, the curls come out perfectly. If you are impatient like me, it doesn’t work out very well each time! You really have to leave it in the whole time for the curl to stay in and be heated thoroughly.You have to insert the hair in between the two blades in the center as well and it is hard to get it in the right spot. Some of the hair falls out and if you use too big of a chunk, it doesn’t work properly. If you have less hair, this may be more time efficient for you, but just took too long for me to do all of my hair.

Not actually a lightsaber!
This is an automatic curling iron…its not so automatic that you can just fall asleep and let it do the work, but at least you aren’t twisting hair around a heated rod yourself…think of how time consuming THAT could be. This wild tool looks like a wicked lightsaber, but as much as we tried no glowing blade came out – but instead this has 4 temperatures to really cook that spinning hair and once you set your locks in the internal spire and turn on the motor you could just twist for days and never get tired since its doing all the work. If the listing photos on Amazon are anything to be believed, you will be absolutely stunned by this gift and ready to pop open a bottle of bubbly – especially when you see the pricetag!Super easy to use, with tons of torque so be careful not to wrap up small animals in the spinning outer ring…though its speed is likely slow enough that the animal would have time to bite you and escape if you were trying to use this to catch it.Highly recommended as a hair thingy…not as a lightsaber.

Great Results, Just Be Ready for a Learning Curve
This automatic curling iron is a really solid tool, but it does take a little patience to get the hang of. Once you figure it out, the results are beautiful. The curls come out smooth, shiny, and more like soft, blown-out waves rather than Shirley Temple ringlets, which I personally prefer. The 1.2-inch barrel is a great size for that look, and the curls held well for me throughout the day.There is definitely a learning curve, especially if you’re new to automatic curlers. It’s not quite as intuitive as I wanted it to be, so know that you’ll need to experiment with how much hair to feed in and which direction to rotate. That was the trickiest part for me. But if you stick with it, it becomes much easier and more consistent.I was impressed with the overall build quality. It feels comparable to some higher-end tools I’ve used, the pink is pretty, and the ceramic barrel seems well made. The safety features are also a big plus—the outer housing helps prevent burns, and I felt more comfortable using this near my face than with a traditional wand.I also like that you can control the direction of the curl, which lets you choose between a more uniform or more natural, varied style. The cord feels durable and rotates easily as you work, which makes styling less frustrating.One thing to note is that there’s no built-in kickstand, so you’ll need to be mindful of where you set it down while it’s hot. The outer housing makes this less of an issue than with other irons, but it’s still something to be aware of.Overall, this is a great value for the price. Twist defective upon first try!
First time out of the box and the twisting mechanism barely works. Randomly switches directions or stops. Doesn’t get hot enough to produce lasting curl and easy to tangle hair.

As someone who usually struggles with traditional curling wands, this rotating iron makes getting consistent waves so much easier. The anti-scald design is a huge plus for me, and I love that it heats up almost instantly with four different temperature settings. It gives my hair a really pretty, polished look that lasts all day. I just wish the power cord was a little longer for more flexibility, but the results are fantastic.

Not as Effortless as Advertised
We had high hopes for this automatic curling iron, but it didn’t end up being a great fit for our household. My wife and daughter both have years of experience styling their hair, so they were expecting something that would simplify the process. Instead, there was a noticeable learning curve, and getting results similar to the product photos/videos took more time and practice than expected.The rotating feature does work, but it also limits some of the control and creativity they normally have with a traditional curling iron. Creating different curl styles or adjusting techniques felt less intuitive, which made the styling experience somewhat frustrating.To be fair, someone completely new to curling their hair may appreciate the guided approach, but for experienced users, it felt restrictive rather than helpful. The tool is well designed and comfortable to hold, but the results didn’t justify replacing the styling methods they already prefer.Overall, it may work for some users, but it wasn’t practical for our needs and didn’t deliver the effortless styling experience we were hoping for.

So much safer than most curling irons! And works great!
I adore this product because it’s so safe – and works so well!Safety-wise: My 10 year old has straight hair that she absolutely loves having curled. I’m usually saying no – and when I do say yes, refusing to let her ever handle the iron herself – due to safety concerns with the traditional ones. It’s so easy to burn your hand or scalp with the usual uncovered irons, plus I don’t trust children (or myself with my awful attention span 🤣) to know how long they should keep their hair in the iron – i’ve seen people fry their hair from keeping it on too long. This cool little tool solves both problems! The curling iron is covered with a little barrier so your hands and scalp are never really touching the hot part! And it has a beep sound to alert you when your hair has been in long enough and should be let go. I feel way more comfortable curling her hair now – and even letting her help with the process sometimes too.Functionality-wise: It’s making lovely waves in her hair, which is very straight and typically doesn’t hold curls well, so I’m thrilled this does the trick for her! Works as well as any thick barreled curling tool. It doesn’t make perm-looking ringlets like a little 1 inch wand does, so don’t buy this for that purpose. Buy it if you want lovely beach waves.I’d say the only con is that it’s taking me some time to get used to it, but that’s mainly user error rather than a product issue. You have to hold a button down the whole time which I’m not used to and sometimes forget to keep holding. There doesn’t seem to be anything to hold the iron in place the way traditional curling irons are kind of fixed tightly to the head with a clip mechanism, so I sometimes am not staying as still as I should and it moves around mid-curling. And when I’m not careful enough about fully separating the chunk of hair I’m curling, it tends to pull in surrounding strands which wrap around the outside barrier of the automatic curler. I think all of my struggles with it are due to the fact that it’s brand new to me and I keep attempting to use it with the same muscle memory of how I use other traditional irons. This is a slightly different process, so I think I just need to get used to it and not instinctively handle it like I would other irons. Which I’m getting better with over time as we use it more. And safety and functionality are well worth learning how to maneuver a new tool IMO.All around, I think it’s a wonderful product and a far better and safer alternative to our mother’s old-fashioned curling irons. I can’t wait to do my own hair with this next time I have to go out.
