    Natural Hair Oil That Helped With Thinning But Takes Patience

    I recently started using this UFNA batana oil because my hair has been thinning noticeably over the past few years, especially around my temples and crown, and I wanted to try something natural before looking into more aggressive treatments. The oil comes in a small 60ml bottle which doesn’t sound like much, but since you only need a few drops per application it actually lasts about six weeks with regular use. The consistency is thick and has a strong earthy, almost nutty smell that’s pretty intense when you first apply it, not terrible but definitely noticeable for the first hour or so. I massage it into my scalp a few times a week, usually at night so I can leave it in overnight, and it does make my hair feel softer and look shinier after I wash it out in the morning. After about a month of consistent use I’ve noticed less hair coming out when I shower, and the areas that were thinning seem slightly fuller, though I can’t say for certain if that’s new growth or just my existing hair looking healthier. The “100% raw and natural” claim is reassuring since I’m trying to avoid harsh chemicals. On the downside, the oil is messy to work with and will stain your pillowcase if you’re not careful, so I started putting a towel down before bed. The bottle is also pretty small for the price, and if you have longer or thicker hair than I do you’d probably go through it even faster. Overall, it seems to be helping with my hair loss and the overall health of my scalp, but it requires patience and consistent use, and don’t expect dramatic results overnight.

    Works well for frizz

    I ordered this because I have a bunch of breakage in the front of my hair from wearing my hair up all of the time for so many years. I ordered to try and help with the frizz and to hopefully ‘heal’ my hair. I’ve also been trying to grow it out a bit, so I was also hoping that this would help with that. The first time I used this, I tried applying it straight to my hair, but it left my hair feeling so greasy and oily and it looked bad too. I tried using it in the shower in hopes that would help it be less oily, but that also didn’t help. I ended up having to mix a few drops of this into my hair conditioner in order to use this without my fine hair looking terribly greasy or weighed down. It DOES make my hair feel nice and it does help with the frizz problem, but I have to be super careful because even an extra drop or 2 can make my hair look like an oily mess. This is a good product, but if you have fine hair, beware- start off with just a little bit of this stuff!

    I don’t know exactly the benefits of batana oil, but I do know that I like this. It has a very light smoky and nutty smell when you first apply it, but once it absorbs it’s not noticeable. I use it on my nails and occasionally the ends of my hair. It is not too heavy.

    I ordered this after getting a body wave to help add moisture back into my hair once it set and to prevent dryness or damage. I applied as directions suggested, but needed more drops in order to cover all my hair as it is thick. Texture-wise, it feels similar to other oils I’ve used like coconut oil. It does have a mild scent—I can’t quite place it. I saw another reviewer describe it as nutty, which might be accurate, but it’s subtle and not overpowering.I did notice that it helped make my curls more prominent, which I liked. I’m not 100% sure if I’d get the same effect from another oil, but I do appreciate that this is natural and not just adding another chemical product to my hair. It also adds a nice sheen and makes my hair feel softer overall.One thing to note: if you don’t wash your hair for a couple of days, this can make your hair feel greasy faster since you’re layering it on top of your natural oils.Additionally, I almost wish that it had a spray top. I have very thick hair and I would have loved that added feature in order to get through the different layers of hair, and it may have made me feel like it was specifically made for hair or topical application with a bit more intentionality to the product application process.I also think this would work well as a carrier oil if you’re into making perfumes or body oils with essential oils. As for price, I’m still on the fence—it does feel like a premium product based on how it’s refined, but I’m not fully convinced yet that the amount you get matches the price. That said, I do like how it feels and performs so far and will keep using it.
