Sturdy build for the money. Simple to use and effective.
Been using clippers with a short guard on my chest for years, but new to manscaping the back. The BearBack was well reviewed and fairly inexpensive as products go. Tried it dry the first time through, and it needed to be rinsed a lot as this was the first time ever. So I jumped in the shower and figured out the best technique, and wow is my back smooth! The handle is plenty rigid, and the rubber grip was key in the shower. The pivoting head helped keep it close over the less flat areas. I think hitting it every couple of weeks will be easier than that first time. Very happy with this product, even without soap or shave cream.

Look Elsewhere
For background, I’ve previously used 2 back shavers – one that’s electric which worked decently but gave me razor bumps and the second which has 2 single edge blades and worked great but took some time. So I decided to give this a try because of the dual heads with 3 blades in each thinking it would work quicker. I have moderate to heavy back hair but not a werewolf by any stretch. This razor makes it difficult to get the right angle and doesn’t make it easy to shave your back by yourself nor was it really that great if you supposedly have the correct angle. I even had my wife use it to shave my back to see if I was doing it wrong and after a couple minutes she put it down in favor of the handle razor I use to shave my head. Bottom line, looks impressive, seems like it would work great but I would highly suggest you look elsewhere for a better product.

Decent option but not great
I’m obsessed with a clean back and have tried many options. This one works OK for the price, but please use shave cream if you can. Otherwise, you’re going to scratch up your back big time. If you use it wet, I don’t seem to get good results. But it will cut the hair smoothly if you take your time. Replacement blades are only $20 for a 4-pack, and one blade will last a long time. For $25, decent buy, would not pay more than that.

Not a Dry Razor!
After 2 months of use, I’m going to dispute any claims about being able to use this as a dry shaver. I’ve done it at least a half dozen times dry now, and every time it irritates my skin– much in the way as a regular razor would if you used it dry! I don’t know if the ability to use it dry was part of the product description itself, or the (ahem) “helpful” AI summary on Amazon, but if you’re buying it for that use, I’d be wary.As a regular wet shaver in the shower, it of course does the job just fine. But if you want the saving dry aspect like I do, you’re better off with a BakBlade.
