This VITALSKINOIL beard butter in the cologne & cedarwood scent is solid overall. The 4.23 oz jar has a nice, thick consistency that spreads easily without being greasy, and it does a great job conditioning and softening my beard while keeping flyaways tamed. It absorbs well, leaves no heavy residue, and my beard feels noticeably softer after a few days of use.The downside is the scent—it’s a little too strong for me. The cologne/cedarwood mix is bold and lingers all day (which some guys might love), but it can feel overpowering if you’re sensitive to fragrances or around people in close quarters. I had to use a lighter hand to dial it back.Overall, good conditioning beard butter with premium feel, just go easy on application if the scent intensity is a concern. I like the smell of this
I got it for the cedarwood smell, though I feel like the “cologne” smell kind of overpowers the cedar, unfortunately. Still, it’s a nice smell, but if you’re wanting more of the cedar fragrance, you might try something else.I don’t use this too often, mainly just if I’ve just showered and am getting ready to go out somewhere, so I think this 4oz jar should last me quite a while. I don’t have a big, thick beard, though, so if you do, then you’re likely going to use more of this than I use. But I put a little bit in my short beard and then run my hands through my hair to sort of distribute the remaining stuff there. I like that especially after a shower because otherwise my hair dries and is really fluffy and feathery, and I’d prefer it have a bit more control. This stuff doens’t make it greasy, though, at least with the small amount that I use.Overall, it’s pretty decent, and it smells nice, but again, I do wish the cedar was more noticeable in it.
