Excellent Beard Oil
This beard oil is very high quality and works exceptionally well. It absorbs quickly into the beard and skin, leaving no greasy or heavy feeling. After just a few uses, my beard felt noticeably softer, smoother, and much easier to manage. It also helped reduce itchiness and dryness, which is a big plus, especially in colder weather. The blend of argan, jojoba, and almond oils conditions both the beard and the skin underneath, leaving a healthy, well-groomed look. A small amount goes a long way, so the 2-oz bottle should last a good amount of time. Overall, this is an excellent beard oil that delivers great results and is well worth using daily.

Works, just not my favorite scent
The oil itself works really well, it absorbs fast and doesn’t leave my beard feeling greasy or heavy. The blend feels high quality and a little goes a long way, so the bottle should last awhile.The only thing that didn’t click for me was the scent. Bay rum and teak isn’t bad, it’s just not my prefered smell and comes across a bit stronger than I expected at first. It does fade down after a bit, but the initial hit wasn’t my thing.

Real Ingredients – Lasts All Day – Aroma Fades Nicely
I’m pretty picky about my beard products. There are a million of them out there so there is no reason to compromise. First, I won’t even try anything that isn’t transparent with their ingredient list. Mantane shares all their ingredients. This is fundamental. There are so many great natural oils and scents so why would we ever settle for artificial? I love that these are all natural and I know what I’m putting on my face.This oil has average viscosity. There are oils that are thinner and require more oil to do the job. At the same time, there are other oils that are a bit more luxurious and take less oil to coat your beard. This falls right in line with most beard oils.The aroma is a pretty typical American aroma. I say American instead of English, European, or Middle Eastern because it is. It is bold out of the box. I was a bit concerned about the strength because I’d be wearing it right under my nose all day. Fortunately, it faded quickly and leaves a very gentle sillage which I can only smell if I put my beard up to my nose to intentionally smell it. The aroma on my bottle is described as “Bay Rum and Teak” which I don’t quite agree with. There is some faint teak which could indicate good quality because real teak doesn’t have a ton of aroma. I don’t smell bay rum at all. There is not much sweetness to this at all. It has a much more beach-inspired scent with something that evokes salty air along with hints of some distant juniper or pine. It’s a good aroma though not something destined to be one of my favorites. It’s good, then, that it fades pleasantly.Their retail price is right in line with other beard oils. As you can see from the other reviews, the scent can be polarizing as any scent can be. Some people say they love it. Others describe it as weird. It’s worth a try. If you don’t like it, move on. It will function nicely for you while you decide.

Competitive with mainstream name-brands
I normally use Creamo beard oil for my (chest-length) beard – if I do not use beard oil I get dry skin and flakes from my face, which is totally not something I had in mind when I was a young warthog before I grew out face-bush. At time of review, Creamo and this product were ~similar price per volume.Honestly, they’re not that different of products. Given that I clearly think my Creamo is a good value, that means Mantane is also a pretty good value for its price. The varieties of oil used in the two products are different (this is a primarily almond oil based product [ALLERGY ALLERT] while Creamo is primarily sunflower oil. I can’t identify whether this actually makes a difference, so I suppose it’s safe to say the Mantane blend isn’t worse.The scent is a familiar and masculine – reminiscent of the deodorant that my father used when I was growing up. It’s potent and pleasant, but not overpowering. Puts a standard shine on my beard (like I suspect any food oil would) and has the expected moisturizing effect on my skin. Prevents flakes comparable to Creamo. Impact on hair health is, as far as I can tell, about the same as any other beard oil.I’m not going to dig any stars for this, especially because I think it might be a one-off, but the eyedropper in my bottle has a questionable seal which has resulted in some spillage (eyedropper releasing some oil before you squeeze the bulb.) Like, it’s 95% reliable in this respect, but I definitely lost a few drops in a way that was unexpected to me, and which I haven’t experienced with Creamo. Also, the eyedropper is graduated (has 0.5 and 1ml marked off, with lines between them) — I can’t imagine while, but I suppose it’s always neat to be able to quantify usage.Overall, I’m pretty neutral between my prior product and this one; moving forward I’ll probably use whatever is most convenient / least expensive. Mild classic aroma of bay rum, conditions my rough old beard like magic.
I have worn a beard for over 47 years, and I have always used products on it. I can say this beard oil is as good as any and better than most I’ve used, and it’s also a very reasonable value for money. It moisturizes and softens extremely well. Oddly, while my fingers are a little shiny for a few minutes after rubbing in the oil, they don’t feel greasy at all. The aroma is very classic, a true mild Bay Rum-inspired scent with tones of teak wood.Truly a 5-Star product!
