Very Nice Balm That Works. Nice Scent, Too

I decided to give this aftershave a shot, mainly because of the unusual ingredient of hops (normally a mainstay of beer) and, secondly, because this company is more known for beard conditioning products than aftershave.Since I use an old-style double edged razor, I can experience skin burn and using lotions or potions containing alcohol only exacerbates the burn.This is more of a lotion/cream than a true liquid aftershave in the sense of, say, Aqua Velva or Mennen Skin Bracer.In that respect it comes with a pump to distribute minor amounts of the balm (a little goes a long way).In that respect it succeeds quite nicely by cooling the burn without adding to it first.The scent is sort of hard to explain, but it’s nice without being overpowering and that counts since old age has made me sensitive to adverse scents.One thing I will state is that the price for what is essentially a boutique product is quite reasonable. This is a large bottle that should last quite a while.Plus the glass bottle is nice enough I may just keep it for some other purpose after the aftershave is gone.

Superior aftershave

This is an all-in-one aftershave. It is a balm but with a unique scent that is both sweet yet masculine, and lasting. It has a pump action, so you don’t get too much product, just enough. After 3 passes with a DE safety razor my skin felt renewed. I normally use Palmer’s balm and Clubman Pinaud aftershave, and this does the work of both. The scent lasts a long time and is not overpowering. As for the glass bottle, when you’re done, remove the top and the paper label and place it in a window. It is just like the bottles you see in windows, catching the light, very attractive. It is a small bottle, but you don’t need to use much so it will last a good while. I’m very particular about aftershaves; most I do not care for. This one pleasantly surprised me. It is exceptional and outstanding, a keeper.

A little goes a long way

After using this product for a number of times, three things stand out. First, it feels quite cool and soothing on your face, which is good to tame any razor or shaver burn. Secondly, a little goes a long way (see photo 4)). It comes out of the pump bottle as a cream, and you don’t need much. Thirdly, the scent lasts a long time. I could still smell it an hour after I put it on. This coulod be good or bad depending on whether you like the smell. I do; it has a woodsy fragrance, not perfumey.I have included photos showning the bottle and the ingredients. I was surprised to see hops as the first ingredient, so I looked it up: “Hops (Humulus lupulus) in skincare are a potent, antioxidant-rich ingredient prized for calming inflammation, reducing redness, and fighting acne-causing bacteria. Ideal for sensitive, acne-prone, and mature skin, they help balance sebum, stimulate collagen production, and soothe irritation. They are often found in serums, cleansers, and toners.”The second ingredient is wasn’t familiar with was Panthenol: “Panthenol, or Provitamin B5, is a highly effective hydrating and soothing ingredient in skincare that converts to pantothenic acid upon absorption. It acts as a humectant to attract moisture and an emollient to seal it in, strengthening the skin barrier while reducing inflammation and redness. It is generally safe for all skin types, especially sensitive or dry, damaged skin.”The final ingredient I did know was allantoin: “Allantoin is a highly effective, soothing, and moisturizing skincare ingredient that promotes cell regeneration, heals wounds, and softens skin. Derived from plants like comfrey, it acts as a mild keratolytic, reducing irritation, redness, and flakiness, making it ideal for sensitive, dry, or acne-prone skin.”These ingredients all sound wonderful, so why wouldn’t you use it? The only thing that bothered me was when I looked at the actual ingredients which are listed on the bottom of the package (see photo 5). Wow, those are the ingredients listed from most to least. You can decide if you want to study that list.This product is manufactured and bottled in Spain and distributed in the US by Beardbury USA.

Nice, soothing aftershave

I ordered this aftershave for my husband because he loved the other items that I had previously ordered from Beardburys.This aftershave is thick and creamy. It’s very soothing and moisturizing. It smells amazing, too. I like the natural ingredients and that it has vitamin E and shea butter. He likes the feel of his skin after he uses it and that it complements the scents of Beardburys’ facial elixir and beard potion.It’s also a nicely designed bottle that looks great. The amber glass and black pump have a classical look that he doesn’t mind leaving out on his counter.Overall, we waited to post a review until he had used this several times. His skin looks and feels great after shaving. This is a very nice product that he definitely recommends.
