I’m always on the lookout for deep conditioners and hair masks to help manage my hair. I have long, thick curly hair so anything to help keep it healthy is appreciated. I was excited to find this BENTON Glycine Protein Deep Conditioning Hair Mask & Conditioner so I ordered. It arrived quickly and was well packaged and sealed which I appreciate. It looks just like the photos and I received exactly what I ordered.Upon opening the box I was struck with the fragrance. I knew it was fragranced with an “Allergen-Free Fragrance” but I wasn’t expecting it to be this fragranced. I tried it out last night and used nearly half the tube on my hair. It was easy enough to apply and let sit then rinse. My hair felt nice after and smelled good, I do like the way it smells when using. I didn’t put any product in my hair after and let it dry naturally.Unfortunately It really didn’t do much for my hair. It actually looks worse after using this. It’s somehow more frizzy and poufy fluffy than it normally is when I don’t use any product and air dry. It doesn’t feel especially soft either. I will add that others in the household think it’s super fragranced like too fragranced and say they can smell it whenever they are within like 3 feet of me so keep that in mind. I don’t mind how it smells and actually sort of like the fragrance but if you are sensitive to fragrances or others in your household are then this may be too much.Overall, I’m underwhelmed. I really wanted to love this BENTON Glycine Protein Deep Conditioning Hair Mask & Conditioner but it just didn’t work so well for my hair plus the super fragranced and bothered family members issue. It may be great for finer, straight hair but just didn’t work for me.

Overly scented

This deep Conditioning Hair Mask & Conditioner tames my disobedient gray hairs helping smooth them into submission.It’s very thick and I find a little goes a long way. It washes away easily leaving my hair feeling clean and soft.However, I don’t use it all the time because due to the heavy floral/rose scent. I find it overpowering when I apply it and the smell stays with my hair even after styling. I’m continually catching the floral scent until I wash it out.I’ve never been a fan of the heavy floral scents, so maybe it’s just me having a sensitive sniffer.The overall effect on my hair has been positive so I continue to use it occasionally for deep conditioning..

BENTON Glycine Protein Deep Conditioning

I find a lot of Kbeauty shampoos and conditioners to smell amazing and make my hair smell incredible as well. However on the downside, these are markedly more expensive per ounce than the local shampoos and conditioners available at the grocery store. I’m not at all familiar with this brand but the conditioner itself was light and fragrant. The directions state to put in after washing hair and leave for a few minutes. I typically probably leave in conditioner, just long enough to finger comb the knots out so hardly a minute tops. It washed out nicely and to be honest my hair did feel soft and smooth but as a caveat, I used the conditioner in the middle of winter when the humidity is low so my hair naturally feels incredible after blow drying. I did also use silicone leave-in conditioner to help achieve a smooth shine overall. Not bad overall but kind of pricy for the quantity.

I am a wash-and-dry kind of person who spends just a few minutes running a brush through my hair after washing it before going about my day. I’m fortunate to have thick, hair that is not damaged, probably due to the fact that it is not permed, dyed, or even blow dried. This is the first time I have fortunate enough to order a Korean hair conditioning product. All of the skin creams and moisturizers I have tried have been top-shelf. One of the reasons I like ordering Korean cosmetic products is that they have what I considered to be a well-earned reputation of integrating natural ingredients with advanced manufacturing techniques.Pros:Easy to apply. Even with my minimal attention to hair care and and without blow drying, my hair felt and looked a lot more put together than it usually does. No random little cowlicks sticking up. My spouse even commented on how soft my hair was, not knowing I was trying a new conditioner!At the time of this review the price was $22 for 7.43 ounces which seems to be a good value.
