Works well, smells nice, feels heavy when wet, but dries nicely without residue
This is a nice set of hair products. Upon opening the box, I noticed a fragrance that was nice and clean and neutral smelling. Upon further inspection, the shampoo bar seems to be unscented, and the conditioner bar seems to be the one that is fragranced. It does tend to smell a bit more on the masculine side, but it is neutral enough that it should be fine for anyone. Upon using the shampoo bar, my observations were that it lathered very nicely. It rinsed away very well and left my hair feeling clean. After that, I used the conditioner bar. It went in very nicely and then I went to rinse, and it felt like it was just staying in my hair. My hair felt a bit heavy and oily and like it still had residue. I rinsed for a while and it still continued to feel this way. I was worried that it would look and feel dirty when it was dry. Thankfully, that was not the case at all. I guess what I was feeling was just well moisturized hair, because when I dried my hair it was clean and light, soft, and bouncy and felt very healthy and happy and looked great. Yes, I would recommend this product. Just don’t freak out about the oily feel. It goes away when dry. 🙂

Overwhelming scent
These bars have an overwhelming scent. The box says it’s citrus but I don’t get that at all. It smells like an old lady perfume and is so strong. Even after rinsing my hair well, the scent lingered and it was still strong the next day. Even my bathroom smells like it as if it were an air freshener. The shampoo lathered well and the conditioner felt nice, but I cannot get past the smell to use it. Even after letting the bars sit out for a few days, the scent is just too bad.

Good but inconvenient
I’ve used these a number of times. It takes way longer so it’s inconvenient compared to normal shampoo and conditioner. It smells good. It lathers fine, and I think the conditioner works well. Hair feels soft. However like I said it takes 3 times as long at least and that makes it inconvenient. I like the conditioner better than the shampoo.

Great shampoo, less impressive conditioner
The shampoo bar is actually quite amazing, leaving hair soft and clean. The conditioner leaves a little to be desired, it’s very mediocre, but obviously limited by its form. So while the kit is great for travel, and any other scenario where a bar would be preferred over liquid, it doesn’t compete with nicer products from traditional offerings for hair care.

Wow. I am very impressed with this shampoo and conditioner bar set. I’ve been using the Kitsch brand ones for a while now so honestly I was prepared to be disappointed by these. Well, I am pleasantly surprised. Not only do these lather better, they also leave my hair feeling softer and cleaner. I really love the smell of these and they also lather well. I’d definitely give these a try if you are a fan of shampoo and conditioner bars.

I have to say that I’m very impressed with the lather the shampoo created and how well it cleaned my hair, as well as the ease and effectiveness of using the conditioner bar. I’m surprised by how much bigger/thicker the conditioner bar is than the shampoo—normally I go through shampoo faster, so it’ll be interesting to see which one’s used up first. The conditioner left my hair soft, very manageable, and well behaved, so points for that.I do have a couple of issues—if the “shampoo bar” and “conditioner bar” weren’t embossed on top of the bars, I would have likely used them in the wrong order. Their size is substantially different but they otherwise look and smell virtually identical. Once the words wear off, which won’t take long, they’ll be indistinguishable with the exception of their size. The shampoo does seem a little denser, with a crisper embossed design And by smell, I mean lack thereof. The package mentions scent notes of pineapple, apple, bergamot, and blackcurrant for both bars, albeit in reverse order for each. I’m barely smelling anything beyond a very faint fruitiness. My nose is fine—I have no problem smelling my shower soap.Don’t get me wrong—this is a very nice luxury set that screams high quality. If you’re looking to impress with a unique, exclusive gift that is both pretty and practical, it’s a great choice. Would I pay that much for myself? Doubtful. But I do tend to be overly thrifty. If I were shopping for a VIP in my life, I’d certainly consider it.
