Very happy with this dry shampoo
This dry shampoo is a lifesaver. My hair gets a little oily by the end of the day, especially my bangs, and a tiny bit of this does the trick to make my hair feel clean again. I really love that it’s a powder and not a spray. I travel a lot, so I love that I can just keep this in my purse when I travel without worrying when I go through security. I can just keep it in my car in the glove box if I want to, whereas with an aerosol/liquid, I’d have to worry about the contents freezing in winter or getting too hot in summer. Very little product is necessary too, so this should last me a long time. Also, I don’t notice any smell to it at all.Drawbacks: My hair does look a little powdery if I don’t do a good job of brushing it out, but that is true of any dry shampoo as far as I know. Other than this, the product is perfect!

Great product, poor bottle design.
The product deserves 5-stars, but the bottle design made me subtract a star. Previously the bottle was a slightly better design and you could shake out the product (although it would sometimes clog). I actually thought my new bottle was defective, do I asked for a replacement because the powder won’t come out even after following instructions.Pros: Solves dry hair, oily scalp combo. If you have this issue, this is your product. If you have thin hair, it adds volumes. If you hate seeing a shiny scalp, try this product. It lasts forever since you need very little. It’s fab on vacation when you never know what weather to expect.Cons: New bottle and application in general. Make sure you use it before any gel products! Rub it with a towel & then comb out or brush. The last thing you want is a part that looks white/gray. To avoid the “George Washington” as I call it, make sure you blow out your hair & inspect for any blotches on your scalp.It’s called a dry shampoo, but you really should consider it a root shampoo. It isn’t something you want to shake all over your hair. It does work great if you are in the hospital. Post-surgery when you can’t shower, this item is a total godsend. Make sure to pack it wherever you go. I wish they had a purse-size applicator for touch-ups.

Like fairy dust! Sprinkle some on your head and BOOM! No grease! like fresh hair all over again!My hair is fine but I have a lot of it and it’s dark brown. I’ve used baby powder before but hated it, it was so sticky and it was so easy to use too much and have white hair (suddenly I realized what aging feels like. Ah!)So I tried quite a few dry shampoos and never liked any of them, some were even worse than baby powder. Then on a whim I got this, it was pretty cheap, eight bucks at the time. I knew instantly I had fell in love. I barely need any, I just sprinkle it along my roots and rub with my fingers to let it absorb the hair’s oils. Then I flip my hair to one side, sprinkle on the side of my head above my ear, then the other side. Sometimes I have to re-do my part and then sprinkle some there too.Overall, very little is needed and my hair gets greasy quickly! It helps to do it at night and then again in the morning since more oil builds up overnight and I’ve found using this a little bit gradually makes the hair look better than needing to use a bunch all at once in the morning. If you shower, WAIT to put this on. I actually don’t need to use this until the next morning after a previous mornings shower but sometimes I use it at night as I said depending on circumstances like if its summer and hot and sweaty out or if I worked out really hard and got really sweaty.Obviously thicker hair, you would use more than me but still, very very little is needed. It’s better to use less and rub then see if you need more than get stuck with having too much in your hair. And this hates water!! Makes it a bit grimy so that’s why you shouldn’t use it right after a shower when your hair might still be damp.

not sure if i love the packaging or the product
I’ve tried several dry shampoos. Mostly lower end sprays (Suave, Tresemme) and Oscar Blandi dry shampoo powder. Thus far, I’m a fan of powders in general because I’ve found they allow for more precision when applying to specific areas and they leave less residue. Maybe higher end sprays don’t leave as much residue. I don’t know.I’ve been using Oscar Blandi for years and it’s been pretty good to me but the knock on Oscar Blandi is that the applicator is terrible. I don’t even use it as an applicator, I just put it in my hands and sprinkle it on my scalp. Anyways, I had to try this because of the reviews. Blowpro is amazing. Here’s the thing though: I don’t know if the powder is amazing, or if this is just the type of applicator/packaging I’ve needed all along. For instance, I’m pretty confident that when I finish this bottle, I could put my Oscar Blandi dry shampoo in the empty Blowpro bottle and it would apply the same way and be just as amazing. Whatever. That’s fine. I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it and if it works out I’ll be happy because I’m pretty sure Blandi is cheaper than this stuff.Here’s why the actual bottle/packaging/applicator is so amazing: it is not a spray. Despite the look of it, you do not push the “nozzle” down. No, you squeeze the bottle and little puffs of dry shampoo come out and go onto your scalp. There’s a bit of a learning curve as to what angle to hold the bottle because if you hold it completely upside-down, you’ll get a surprise in the form of a big cloud of dry shampoo on your scalp.How I use it: I read in magazines that you should apply dry shampoo at night to absorb excess oil. I thought that was stupid but I finally tried it and it’s brilliant! Plus, if you over-apply dry shampoo to a certain area and find yourself with a huge skunk stripe going down your scalp, (brushing it in) and leaving it in overnight will really make the blotch of dry shampoo disappear. Anyways, so I’ll put my hair in a high pony and apply the powder to exposed greasy looking areas. Then I’ll take my hair down and lift sections of hair to uncover more greasy areas, where I will then apply more. Then brush your hair. Really massage the bristles around your scalp to get it to blend in. Go to sleep. Wake up with perfect clean looking hair. Tada! That’s all. AND it really does add volume like they say all dry shampoos should. The only difference is sprays that leave residue give me volume + weird cowlicks because my hair now has a mind of its own thanks to the residue. Not this stuff.i totally recommend this and I see no reason why it wouldn’t work with most hair types. In my opinion, dry shampoo powders have a bit of a learning curve, so you’ll need to experiment and start by only using the tiniest amount and go from there. If you know how to do it right, it will even work with dark hair.

I can’t believe it works
I tried my bottle as soon as it arrived. My hair was looking pretty oily, especially around my ears, so I figured it was a good a time as any to see if it was really going to work. I was stunned. Just stunned. I followed the directions and it worked like a charm. I thought my hair would be too oily or that it would show a lot or residue. It didn’t. I have ash blonde (almost brown) hair–very long.I had put some on my part, and after I brushed my hair, I noticed I could still see some white powder on my scalp there, so I massaged my scalp a little and ran a comb over the area. It disappeared. I hate that it costs $20, but if I don’t have to use that much at one time, it ought to be worth it. I’ll be saving on shampoo, that’s for sure.UPDATE: Okay, now I’m impressed. I washed my hair on a Sunday night, and finally used this on a Thursday morning to freshen up my hair (usually I’d have to use it sooner, but didn’t have to that week). Then I got up late on Friday and had to use it again. I was sooo glad it worked on a second application. On Saturday morning I got up and used it again, and was stunned at how good my hair looked. I didn’t feel like I was using an excessive amount, even though I have a lot of long, fine hair. I washed my hair Saturday night, just because.The next week I wound up using it a little sooner, and washed my hair sooner, too. But I’m impressed with just how much this product helps, even on repeat uses. AND… my head doesn’t feel itchy like I was afraid it would. In fact, I think it has helped my dandruff and my hair in general to not be washing it as often, but to still be taking care of the oils in between washings. I don’t have excessively oily hair or anything, but it does start looking pretty greasy at times, so I think think this stuff is pretty amazing. This is probably my 3rd or 4th week using it.UPDATE #2: I started using this product in February of 2014. It’s now January 2015. In the last year I’ve bought two bottles. Product still works great. The second bottle seemed to have less or wasn’t quite the same as the first bottle, but it was still effective. I just felt like it ran out sooner than the first one did, and it didn’t seem to distribute quite as nicely as the first one. I’m about to buy my third bottle, so we’ll see if there’s any difference there.I use this product 2-4 times a week, and it always helps my hair. Sometimes I just need it for spot touch-ups, but sometimes I bring it in to do heavy lifting, like when I wake up late getting up or I’m out camping with limited access to water. It always does the trick, and I haven’t had problems with it causing or exacerbating dryness or flaking. In fact, my hair seems healthier now that I wash it with traditional shampoo a little less.

This is the first dry shampoo I have used, although I’ve been doing the baby powder trick for far too long- they’re almost the same. I was excited to get actual dry shampoo though, without fragrance.My major disappointment with this product is in its output mechanism. The bottle basically works like old-time perfume bottles, where you must squeeze the body, which causes air to push out the small eyelet on the lid side. Squishing the bottle like this can be tricky. If there is not enough air pressure, powder doesn’t come out. If there is too much pressure, one section of my head looks like Everest. You also must hold the bottle upright. I’m going to look for a better product design. Otherwise, no complaints, although I don’t notice this works any better than cheaper, store-bought baby powder (I get flower-scented powders so that I don’t smell like a baby.)

I have fine and very oily hair (I’m gross and greasy on day 2) and I have tried myriad dry shampoo products from the cheapies to the expensive salon products. Blowpro Faux Dry Shampoo is hands down my favorite. Yes, it’s a white powder. However, I apply it at night before I go to sleep and it absorbs all the oil in my hair. In the morning I just run a brush through my hair and it looks amazing – – all the excess oil is gone and my hair is still shiny. Even more amazing is my hair doesn’t feel stiff or crunchy or weighed down. All the grease is gone and it looks fantastic. I am able to extend my blow out (I should note I have wavy hair and blow dry / flat iron it after washing) for 4 to 5 days. My hairs feels pretty nasty by day 5 but it still passes as ‘clean’ and looks good. Finally, this little bottle goes a loooooooong ways. I use it each night before bed and my amazon order history proves it lasts me around 3 months. Sometimes longer. Love Love love it!

Changed my life
Seriously, there are only one or two beauty products that have changed my life, and this is one of them. I think this is especially true because I have an almost-pixie haircut. There is nothing that can instantly make my hair look freshly washed like this product can. Best of all, it actually adds texture and volume – so you really get an extra boost if your hair is short enough to benefit from that. I always hate when I shower at night but wake up with half of my head matted due to the way I slept, and I can almost always quickly fix it with a bit of this. Another awesome part about this is that IT HAS NO SCENT. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I can’t stand spraying something heavy and scented on my hair to make it ‘cleaner’. This rocks.Pro tip: If the humidity is bad in your bathroom, don’t leave the bottle in there. I’ve gone through many bottles of this and had a period of the bottles clogging – super frustrating to not be able to squeeze it and have product come out. It took me the longest time to realize that the product was likely absorbing a bit of moisture from the atmosphere, making the consistency thicker and more likely to get stuck in the tube on the way out. Since I’ve kept the bottle in my bedroom, I’ve had no issues.
