    Works Great on Multiple Hair Types, but Varies with Water Type

    Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla smells amazing and works great on different hair textures, keeping both my and my husband’s (different hair types, curly multi-ethnic and curly caucasian) hair healthy. It is also gentle on my sensitive skin. It lasts awhile because don’t need to use a lot when shampooing. I did not think I’d find a budget-friendly shampoo that is sulfate-free and good for my curly hair, and I never thought I’d care enough to have a “favorite” shampoo–Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla has become my favorite shampoo.Update: I still like Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla, but unfortunately it does not work as well with the high iron city water where I live now. I still use it when I am visiting somewhere else. Also, maybe I am more use to it now, but I don’t think it smells as amazing as I first thought. I am dropping it one star since I can’t use it with my current water and the scent is now subtle.

    Great for bleach ravaged hair

    I’m in the process of growing out my hair after a bleach damage DISASTER almost a year ago. My 2b/2c hair is extremely dry, coarse, damaged and brittle. Any sort of shampoo, even low poos and very mild surfactants, makes my hair feel like straw and turns it into a complete tangled mess.This shampoo is so good that I can run my fingers through my hair as I rinse it out, something I’ve never been able to do with shampoo. It’s very thick like honey and lathers very well so a little goes a long way. I have long hair and I use maybe 2 pumps. My hair is wavy and I find this doesn’t weigh it down at all, but my hair is also very thirsty and porous.This is the ONLY shampoo I will use between clarifying as it does not strip or tangle my hair and also effectively cleans it. It smells heavenly too. For those with coarse damaged hair I highly reccomend adding the hair oil to your routine as well.

    I wish I knew about this sooner!!

    So I’ve used carols daughter products for some time (Godess Strength formula), but I needed more shampoo as I’m out and for some reason I wasn’t having any luck finding what I usually get anywhere in store or on Amazon. I then saw this shampoo and thought to try it. LET ME TELL YOU SONETHINNNNN, this shampoo has literally change the feel of my hair in one wash! I kid you not, like my hair isn’t so frizzy anymore and super soft and shiny. My hair is usually very dry and damaged (I try my hardest but my hair is weak guys).I will buying this formula of Carol’s Daughter from now on. Words aren’t enough to describe the magic is just played on my hair!

    Really great

    I’m not really the target audience for this shampoo (white and male), but I’ve been having lots of issues with hair breakage once I started growing my hair out, as well as the contradiction of having hair that is straight but also curly once it reaches a certain length. My previous hair care routine revolved around argan oil and I was very underwhelmed.I switched to Carol’s Daughter back in November and my hair is in much better shape. I still lose just as many strands as before, but I have noticeably more volume and my curls are much more intact. I’m getting compliments on my hair again, which is nice. Another benefit is that the scent is wonderful. I try to avoid scents in my hygiene products but this time I decided to deal with it, and I’m glad I did. It smells like how summer feels.

    The smell of this shampoo is really good. it define my hair while in the shower. It cleaned my hair and added moisture to my hair. I always heard about Carol’s Daughter and I am glad I got this. It is cheaper and I do not have to spend so much money for a shampoo bottle.

    My daughter and I each use this. We use all Carol’s daughter products.. we love it. It’s hard to find in our town so I’m grateful Amazon carries it. This is a spray conditioner that you leave in.It smells so good

    UPDATE: I used the shampoo and didn’t notice an unpleasant scent like I did when I opened it the first time. It left no residue after shampooing and left my hair in great condition so I do like it. Not as much as CD Monoi, but I would by it again.Older Review: I hate the smell!! It’s like a fake chemical smell. You cannot identify anything close to even describe it. I’m wondering if I received a fake product because I have used CD monoi shampoo for years which was pure, clean and smelled beautiful. Like monoi. When L’Oréal bought Carol’s daughter they discontinued monoi shampoo & conditioner and are putting out inferior products. If this black vanilla is really legit, I have zero clue why people like the scent. I cannot use this stuff.

    Poor packaging

    This bottle is super annoying and the pump can at times get stuck and the bottle gets crushed inward because of the pump drawing out air of the bottle. This sort of packaging is horrible. Aside from the product itself. Product is not what it has been previously

    A shampoo that cleans your hair and keeps it clean for a long time

    This shampoo is fantastic, especially when used with the Carol’s Daughter shampoo. With only a few pumps from this bottle is covers your whole head. It’s very easy to use and when you finally rinse it out you can feel the dirt and from washing out.After awhile you start to notice how healthy your hair starts to get. I’ve been using it for a few months and I’ve noticed my hair growing faster and that I have fewer split ends. It does such a good job of cleaning your hair that it feels almost weightless when you rinse it.
