    Das Aftershave Cognac Neat ist tatsächlich das letzte der “Alkoholika Reihe” von Clubman das mir noch gefehlt hat. Das Beste kommt immer zuletzt sagt man ja. Hier passt es. Es duftet wunderbar warm nach Cognac. Natürlich nicht als wäre man gerade aus der Kneipe gestolpert, sondern sehr edel.Das einzige was ein kritikwürdig wäre, ist dass es nicht soooo langeanhält.Ich werde es in jedem Fall wieder kaufen.

    Unlike some of the other Pinaud offerings, this actually has a distinct whiff of cognac. A lovely, soft aroma. It’s an aftershave, not a cologne, so don’t expect a long lasting scent but it is terrific while it lasts.

    Another winner from Pinaud Clubman but not my absolute fave. I can best describe Cognac Neat as a softer, more refined version of Pinaud Clubman’s Special Reserve Cologne. Overall, the Pinaud fragrances provide great value for the dollar and are fragrances that will make you feel good and get compliments. This is my opinion as both wearer and barber. One can search the bowels of YouTube and find a review of Pinaud Clubman fragrances by a gent in Jersey City. This vid always makes me smile. To paraphrase the reviewer, “Old broads will smell this stuff, and wanna come up and touch you all over.” Their line of fragrances have a classic appeal. Older? Maybe. Perhaps timeless is a better descriptor. There’s a reason these products have stood the test of time. I am grateful that Clubman has extended their line and offering a greater line of men’s products. I start my review of Cognac Neat with the Clubman Soecial Reserve Cologne. I feel it has a related DNA. Special Reserve is a pure & unabashed leather fragrance. It’s from a different time. Closest comparison is Sterling Soaps British Leather which many compare to the good original English Leather. The kind of woman that digs Sam Elliott & appreciates the sound of glasspacks and a good whiskey sour could likely appreciate these aforementioned scents on a man. Neither is weak, nuanced, or mistaken for anything besides a male fragrance. Possibly dated but it’s good stuff that everyone needs to try to see if it plugs in well with their chemistry and style. If one takes that Soecial Reserve Cologne, turns the leather essence down a notch, and adds just a little sweetness and a little spice – say essences of cognac, and perhaps Vanilla and Brown Sugar – we get to this gem of an aftershave -Cognac Neat. Also discernible for me is a little soapy& powdery cleanness on the finish that is characteristically Clubman and what folks describe as “barber shop smell.” It’s very, very nice. Cognac Neat is also more in line with what might be considered modern fragrance expectations. Light and clean smelling vs heavy and musky. Highly recommended.

    It has a heavy alcohol smell, and not much else. Stick with Whisky Woods or Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum which are both excellent!
