    Perfect for gifting!

    This adorable package of hair goodies has lots of good stuff inside. Everything comes in a cute reusable organic cotton bag, the bag is lined inside and can be used for many things. A bamboo Vegas brush is included, it is small but great for my fine thin hair. A very cool hair wrap is included, I use it for when I coat my hair in the coconut oil, so that it doesn’t drip and make a mess, the hair wrap comes in a reusable bag made from 100% recycled materials. Also included is a small box containing 5 packets of coconut oil for my hair. This coconut oil is 100% organic and fair trade certified.I really love this company and I love the coconut oil products.My hair has never looked better.

    Beautiful set, top qualilty

    Everything about this set screams quality, and would make a beautiful gift. The colors are vibrant, and the materials are all eco friendly and well made. The hair towel is a nice light material and really does reduce hair dry time. I also used it to cover my head when I had the coconut oil in my hair. I didn’t make it overnight because it drives me crazy to have things in my hair while sleep, but I kept it in about 2 hours. I had to shampoo twice to feel like I got most of the coconut oil out. My hair was super silky afterward and my scalp felt great. My scalp tends to feel tight because my hair is always in a bun, but this mask really made my whole head feel nourished. I know this is a hair care set, but I have to mention my favorite use for coconut oil, dry brushing. Well I guess it’s not dry technically if you use oil, but apply the oil head to toe, and dry brush as usual. Your skin will glow for days!

    Weighed down my hair

    I was excited to try the Coconut Oil Hair Mask Kit with Quick Dry Towel, Bamboo Hairbrush, and Coconut Oil for Hair, Hair Care Gift Sets for Women – Conscious Coconut. I can say the bag it comes in is very nice.I appreciate the bamboo brush (which I’m assuming is sustainably harvested) for replacing plastic. But it does not work with my fine, thick hair at all. Even as a travel brush, I find it hard to work through my hair.The hair wrap comes with a nice bag to put it in. It always washes and dries fine in the washing machine. I wish it came with instructions. I put it over my hair with the button in front, then twisted the tail around my hair and pulled it along my head to fasten the loop around the button. But despite having a larger-than-average head and long hair, it was still loose. It listed to the side after two hours and was giving me a crick in the neck. I might like it more with further experimentation.I used the coconut oil as a hair mask, since that is the main use. The instructions said to use only two teaspoons the first time to avoid weighing hair down if it wasn’t used to the oil. I used about half a packet since I don’t have a measure in my shower. Then, I left it on for two hours before washing it out as the instructions said. It took more than two shampoos and four days for all the coconut oil to come out. Thankfully I wasn’t going anywhere since my hair looked horribly greasy. I haven’t noticed much of a difference in my hair now that it is all washed out. Thankfully, the coconut oil has alternate uses.I do wish this company didn’t use single-use packaging, especially since one packet isn’t necessarily a recommended amount. I suppose it helps the keep the coconut oil from going bad.This is a cute gift set, but not really suitable for my hair.

    Good product

    I didn’t care for the towel, it really doesn’t have much to it and really doesn’t help dry your hair. The rest of the product is wonderful. it helps take the frizz out of my hair, the brush is good quality. I really love it if you take the towel out of it.

    a lot of work

    This was my first coconut oil mask and will probably be my last. I found the process time consuming and not really worth the wait. You have to keep the oil in your hair for a long time, either overnight or all day. Its not so much having to keep this in your hair, its rinsing it out. I ended up using a scalp scrub after my 2nd shower because my hair felt tacky and wasn’t brushing out nicely. I followed the instructions and used a smaller amount since this was a first for me and my hair. I found the hair brush provided to be while thoughtful, pointless and painful. The bag to hold everything is very nice and looks like quality. I like the hair towel as well and will continue to use but having to wash and rewash, and scrub my hair to get the coconut oil out wasn’t worth the wait to me. And having to use a scalp scrub to finally get it to feel unsticky. I have average thickness hair with waves, long in length. I just didnt get the silky smooth finished product without really scrubbing and using a scalp scrub to smooth everything out.

    Great Product By a Good Company- Not The Greatest Value

    Overall, I think this Coconut Oil Hair Mask Kit by Conscious Coconut is an excellent 5 star product, but only 4 stars when you consider the value in my personal opinion.What you get:-Quick Dry Towel- Blue ombré-Matching drawstring bag to store towel-Small Bamboo Hairbrush-5 packets of 7.5ml Coconut Oil-Blue zippered cotton travel bagEverything looks and feels high quality!Coconut oil can weigh your hair down and so they say to start with a small amount no more than a teaspoon. I literally used a whole packet the first time I tried. I have pretty long hair anyway. I actually left it in probably close to 24 hours and kept the towel on while I slept. It definitely took a few times shampooing vigorously and then rinsing and repeating during my shower to get the feeling of the oil out enough to where I was satisfied. It wasn’t a big deal though. This isn’t the first time I have put coconut in my hair, but I had never put that much before.The results are nice though-soft moisturized hair. My only issue is that it just isn’t a great value for me at $40 for the set. I would never ever buy this for myself. As a gift for someone? Possibly. It really is a nice set for that purpose. Otherwise, I already have hair towels, brushes, and coconut oil-much more affordable organic coconut at that. I don’t find the little packets necessary and they aren’t even resealable.They say it is all natural, organic cold pressed coconut oil and is more powerful with 4x more antioxidants than the average refined coconut oil. It isn’t like I have a lab and can verify that statement- it seems like usual coconut oil. I personally would probably go for a more affordable organic coconut oil altogether, but I would consider ordering a jar of it from this company simply because I like their mission.-Fair Trade practices-Packaged by adults with mental and developmental disabilities at the MacDonald Training Center (MTC).-For every Conscious Coconut product sold, they say they donate 2 meals to children in need through the Feeding America food banks.Coconut oil has many different uses from skin care, hair care, and is also edible of course. I have always enjoyed using it.Anyway, if you are looking for an interesting and high quality gift for someone, then this would be really nice. If you don’t mind the price and just want to support the company, then I would recommend this for personal use as well, but you can find a better value elsewhere.I hope my review was helpful in some way, and if so, I would love to know- thanks!!

    Pretty close to perfect!

    Coconut oil has such a wide range of applications, including so many health and beauty uses.  I had never used it in my hair before ordering this hair mask kit, so I was eager to try it.  This kit consists of five packets of Conscious Coconut cold-pressed organic coconut oil, a travel-size vegan paddle hairbrush, an absorbent hair drying towel, and an instruction booklet, all conveniently packaged in an attractive, reusable zippered bag.  Some planning was required for me to use this kit because two hours is the suggested MINIMUM time to allow the coconut oil to soak into your hair, and overnight is even better.  I wanted to avoid messy sheets and pillowcases, so I chose to apply the product in the morning.  Following directions, I brushed my hair first and then used only a small amount of coconut oil, doing my best to dispense about a teaspoon or so into my palm and then finger-combing it into my hair.  I then wrapped my hair up in a turban and went about my day, stopping to wash the oil out about four hours later.  It took two shampoos to remove all the coconut oil, and I followed that with a quick light conditioner and rinsed.  After wrapping my hair in the Conscious Coconut hair towel, I combed through my hair carefully and allowed it to air dry the rest of the way.  A little while later I had hair that was amazingly soft and shiny.  There are a few things I noticed throughout the process.  First, this set is made and sold by a great company! Conscious Coconut is certified by Fair Trade USA for their fair trade practices.  They also employ adults with disabilities in Tampa, Florida, and they support Feeding America, so when you buy one of their products, two meals are donated to those in need.  As if that weren’t awesome enough, all their products are certified organic and cruelty-free!  Secondly, the quick dry hair wrap looks and feels different from other hair towels, probably because it was made out of recycled water bottles–wow!  It is surprisingly soft and absorbent, and I do believe it lessened drying time.  It is thinner than my other hair towels, and I prefer its elastic loop and button closure.A third thing I noticed was not quite as positive.  The directions say you should use only a very small amount of coconut oil, particularly at the beginning, until your hair is more accustomed to it.  The problem with that is that it leaves a good amount of oil left in the sachet…which is not sealable.  Of course, at room temperature and below coconut oil should be in solid form, but I didn’t want to trust that, so I grabbed a clip to close it and slipped the sachet into a small plastic baggie to avoid any messy spills.  Since Conscious Coconut directs you to use only a small portion of the oil in a packet, It might be a good idea for them to provide a resealable container for the leftover coconut oil.I love this kit and I love this company’s ethos.  This product is fairly expensive, but the quality of each of the components is very high, so the higher price is warranted even if it might be somewhat prohibitive to some.  But if you can afford it, I definitely recommend this kit for stronger, healthier hair that is unbelievably soft and shiny!I hope my experience with this product might help YOU make a more informed purchase.  Happy shopping!
