Too heavy for my fine thin natural hair, but works well for my wigs. 3.5 stars
This Colorproof Hair Cuticle Closer is a bit too heavy for my fine thin natural hair, but it works well when I use it on my wigs. It is packed full of oils, which do not necessarily close the cuticle, but rather fill them. Less is definitely more when using this product, as it is a bit difficult to rinse enough of it from my hair to keep from weighing it down. It works better for my wigs, as they lack natural oils, and benefit greatly from the oils that are in this product. Not a favorite for my own hair, but great, in moderation, for my wigs.

Worked pretty well for fine, frizzy hair
I have fine, frizzy hair and have used quite a few Colorproof shampoos and conditioners over the years. I washed and conditioned my hair as usual and then applied this cuticle closer very sparingly to my ends and barely to the lower half of my hair. I was afraid to put too much for fear that it would weight my already flat hair down. I had a pretty good hair day after doing this and do think my typically frizzy hair looked improved and a little smoother. The only thing I noticed that has actually happened in the past with other Colorproof products is that I felt the slightest bit itchy around my ears…certain products cause this itch for me and I don’t know what it is while others don’t at all. I must just have a sensitivity to one of the ingredients so likely this won’t be a problem for anyone else…just mentioning it if there is anyone out there who is unusually sensitive like I am. Overall, like I said, I think my hair looked better after using this so I would recommend giving it a try–just use it sparingly and after conditioning so that it doesn’t weight the hair down.

Seems to work to smooth hair – possibly better on curly hair – my hair is long and straight and it felt a little heavy, but it does work. Not a huge fan of the smell, but I can overlook it if it works. Seems to smooth hair – definitely feels like it helps with damage. Works, but Im thinking it might work better for curls or textured hair.

Smells nice no noticeable change in hair
This is an after conditioner conditioner. It smells fruity, I think it’s pleasant but after several uses, I don’t notice any difference in my hair in the shower or after. With other special conditioners, I’m thinking the kind that come in hair dye boxes, deep masks or other cuticle closers I feel a difference. My hair shaft right after dying or toning, feels rough and after using other special conditioners I can feel immediately the difference in texture and smoothness. I don’t notice any benefit positive or negative with this extra step conditioner. So for me it’s definitely not worth the price.

Amazing hair product
This hair cuticle closer worked great on my hair. After shampooing, you work it into the middle to ends of your hair, let it sit for about 2 minutes, and then rinse it off. I definitely noticed my hair looked shinier and had less frizz after using it. It also made my hair feel very soft. It has a really nice scent. I really like it.

So far, meh.
I’m not a fan of this product, despite my general like of ColorProof. I occasionally color my grey hair. I have thick type 4 low porosity hair with a tight, kinky curl. This makes my hair feel hardened and not at all soft. It’s not damaging my hair or increasing breakage, but it just doesn’t feel as soft and nice as it did without this product.To be fair, I haven’t actually colored my hair in over a month. I’ll try it again immediately after coloring to see if it makes a difference and will update this review afterwards. But for now, even after several uses, I’m really not sold and prefer my hair without it.
