Smooth Operator: My First Impression of Cyperus Oil
I’m still getting to know my new 2-pack of Cyperus Oil, but I’m eager to share my first impressions. As someone who’s had their fair share of battles with unwanted hair, I’m hoping this natural oil will be a welcome respite from the usual waxing, shaving, and plucking routine.Here’s what I’ve observed so far:The good stuff:• The dropper makes application a breeze, allowing me to target specific areas with ease.• I’m a fan of the natural ingredients – Cyperus Rotundus Oil is supposed to help reduce body hair growth, which is exactly what I’m looking for.• The scent is subtle and soothing, not overpowering at all.The not-so-good stuff:• It’s too early to tell if it’s actually working – I’ve just started using it, so I’ll need some time to see the results.• I’m not expecting miracles – I know it won’t make all my body hair disappear overnight (although, that’d be nice!).I’ll be revisiting this review in a few months to share my updated thoughts and give you a better idea of how it’s performed over time. Moisturizing oil with a nice scent
This product is very moisturizing and apply as well to the skin. The smell is a very sweet almond scent, which to me isn’t unpleasant, but I know a lot of people who might think it is the smell dissipates fairly quickly after applying so I feel like it’s not lingering. I apply it after my evening shower after shaving. So it has a chance to absorb overnight. I do not notice a lingering smell when I wake up in the morning. I personally don’t like the dropper because the oil is on the thinner end so every time I try to pull up some of the oil in the dropper, some is always dripping out when I take it out of the bottle it drips on the edge of the bottle the countertop so it is a little messy. I would’ve preferred a squeeze bottle where I could’ve just squeezed it into my hand and then applied. I’m not putting the dropper directly on my skin. I am dripping it onto my hand, then rubbing my hands on the areas of my legs and pits. I have not noticed any difference in hair growth yet but at the very least it’s a very nice moisturizing oil to apply after my shower

**Update June 26 2025** I just finished my 3rd bottle, applying every morning and night and I am still having to shave as normal so this product didn’t work for me so I am changing my review to one star because I can’t recommend it** I’ve been using Cyperus Oil for a few months now day and night. I am almost done with my second bottle and I do think that it has slowed my hair growth but I am still shaving regularly and there’s still hair down there. I’ve only been using it in my groin area, which to me, is the hardest, most uncomfortable place to shave. If I never had to shave down there again, the price of this product would be worth every cent. I have one more bottle of this to go through and if I don’t see better results I would not repurchase. A little slower hair growth isn’t what I am going for here, especially when I have used this for months consistently. It does have an odd smell to me (not ever sure how to describe it) and I wouldn’t apply this if you plan to get frisky soon after applying but the smell doesn’t linger for long. It does hydrate the area and it feels soothing, I am just bummed I am still having to shave several times a week.

Very strong scent!
The product works well, and I have no concerns about that. But the fragrance is absolutely overwhelming! There is no way I can use this twice a day – it would compete with wearing perfume, the scent of my shampoo and lotion, etc. The drop or two on my face at night is all I can tolerate! And I can’t even imagine using this on my legs or a larger area where more product would be needed. If you are sensitive to scents, this product is NOT for you.

This didn’t work for me.
This didn’t work for me. I used it mostly on my face and underarms, and I noticed no difference in the length of time it took for the hair to grow back. However, my skin was more moisturized, so I guess that’s a good thing. I was just disappointed because I really had hopes that this would work! I hate shaving, and often get ingrown hairs from doing so. Waxing is not practical, and I can’t afford laser hair removal, (Plus that takes many treatments and often grows back anyway, or so I have heard). I was hoping this would at least add a few days in between having to shave, but no such luck.

Thick, Luxurious, Moisturizing Oil with a Couple Unique Potential Benefits
I’ve used Cyperus rotundus oil before in the past and felt it was an effective moisturizer. This product is very similar – an oil with an almost woody and grassy scent to it that is masculine and quite pleasant. One would typically apply the oil after shaving to potentially limit how the hair grows back, and one may use the oil between hair removal for extra moisture and softness. From everything I’ve read, results for hair minimization will take a couple months or longer to achieve and vary by individual.I love that this is a 2-pack as I tend use oil products on my skin often for their insulating effect. I feel the current price point offers a great value for 4 ounces of oil total. The oil is thick and moisturizing and I love how soft it leaves my skin. It doesn’t feel too greasy but It takes a little while to absorb, about 20 minutes for me. It’s super easy to apply and I simply massage it into my legs after shaving or when they’re dry.One interesting potential benefit to Cyperus rotundus oil is that it contains compounds many similar smelling oils do – which happen to repel mosquitoes. I wondered if based on its scent profile, it would contain conpounds that repel insects and found a couple studies that were supportive of that hypothesis (though some other oils are overall more effective repellents). Neat though, in my opinion.When using Cyperus rotundus oil, I don’t have to do as many shaving touchups, so not only does it make my skin look nice – it feels softer, too. Overall, while the smell is certainly an acquired taste, I like the product and feel it’s of good quality. I would recommend this product to others, as well. I love multi-packs. : )
