No temperature control
The box and the instructions say there is temperature control – there isn’t. It’s just one button to turn it on to a random temperature.The scald protection comb only dissipates the heat and also comes off, so not only does it make the product worse, I also got scalded in the next when it fell off during use.

Instructions say adjustable heat, but it isn’t; however, this gets very hot. Design can cause you to inadvertently turn of comb. Also, both guards popped off white using and I have keratin treated hair. I checked to make sure they snap in, but they did pop off. I’m using this in place of a flat iron when I do keratin treatments on my coarse and wild Caucasian hair.

It’s get really hot when plugged up for a while so if you use them like this you should definitely use heat protection. I use these to lay the top of my wigs flat and it works good every time. I also use it to run through the hair. It straightens frizzy hair well. It is not a flat iron though so if you want flat hair, use a flat iron. These are perfect for edges and roots.

THE BEST pressing comb to date….
This mini pressing comb is perfect! I had another, regular sized pressing comb for years but it never really got hot enough to do the job, even when turned to the highest setting (numbered 1 thru 10). So, it’s been sitting in my closet, unused, for years basically. I happen to stumble across this mini hot comb, and because I liked the size, I figured why not give it a chance. Wow….wow….wow! This small comb packs a pwerful punch. The small size makes it easy to handle and maneuver, especially around the front/back edges, along with the 360 degree rotating cord. Also, it only has two settings: Off and On. That means that it’s either on 450 degrees hot or it’s off. Now, that maybe an issue for some people but not me. That temperature is just high enough to straighten the hair but low enough to not burn it (500 degrees is when the hair can start burning, I believing). I have been giving MYSELF bi-weekly washes as usual and only press out the roots and edges, saving approximately $100+ every two weeks going to the salon for essentially a silk press, and they actually last until my next wash. I have a relaxer but am way overdue for another one. I’m actually heavily considering going natural again (transitioning to straight natural) for the first time in a long time. I still go to the salon once per month, but now I’m not dependent on going since I can do the same thing and get the exact same results.This comb’s results reminds me of when I was younger and would get my hair pressed as a young girl. I’m so glad that I took a chance and bought this. So much so that I bought a second one as a backup for years down the road in case this one gets old and doesn’t work anymore. By that time, it may not be available. Best investment I’ve made in a long time regarding my hair’s maintenance. And for reference, my hair is 4A, if you needed to know. And my new growth/curls always return exactly as they were with each wash, no heat damage. I’ve been natural off and on for decades, so I know what to look for in hair health.For the price (ANOTHER bonus), it definitely will not hurt you to take a chance and see if this works for you and your family. Worse case scenario, you lose $20, best case scenario, you save thousands of dollars, time and energy being able to do your own hair at home. But that’s not to say I won’t ever use it again either. Also, it comes with TWO covers. They’re the exact same same, it’s just that one is a backup in case you lose/break one, I assume.

This product works well for me. I have my hair relaxed and I used it on my new grown hair. It stretched my hair nicely, not straight bone, but I was satisfied. I did not feel that this product could burn my hair or my skin, I used very carefully, though.

Para empezar en ninguno de los instructivos menciona que pueda usarse para barba, y adicionalmente menciona que no lo pegues a la piel ni al cuero cabelludo porque puedes quemarte, por lo que no es verdad que sirva para alisar barba.
