Great for bangs
So I have wavy hair with a widow’s peak hairline. I feel like I look so much better with bangs but oh do they give me trouble. I can usually tame the rest of my unruly hair but my bangs! So I was just thinking the other day, wouldn’t it be great if I could do a straightening treatmen just on my bangs? Then I saw this product and knew I had to give it a try.Application for me was easy as I tend to at least partially air dry my hair after washing before drying and styling anyway. My hair is pretty thick and takes forever to dry and I feel like I do less damage letting it air dry as much as possible. So applying the product to just my bangs and letting it sit, not a problem. I actually put it on after I’d already been air drying for a while so only left it on for 20 minutes or so even though I think the instructions say 40, so it will be interesting to try the full treatment time going forward and see the difference.I think just for my bangs, though, 20 minutes was all that I needed. They came out nice and straight and super shiny. I usually don’t flatiron them because they come out too flat, stringy, and don’t match the rest of my hair. But for some reason they looked fuller than other times. I almost hit them quickly with the curling iron but decided to leave them and they blended in pretty well and stayed pretty straight for the rest of the day. No small feat for these bangs. Also there was no stickiness or stiffness or feeling of being weighed down. But the real test was sleeping, and even on a relatively warm night, I woke up to bangs that didn’t need a bit of retouching. Which almost never happens.Obviously, I can’t speak to how this product will work on an entire head of hair, but really the processing isn’t that difficult, the only time consuming part is waiting between application and styling as you have to apply and then rinse again. But I’ve had various types of straigtening treatments in my life including Brazillian and even lye way back in the day, so this was nothing in compared to that. I don’t know if it lasts for more than one treatment either, I can’t imagine it will, but for me I don’t really need it to since it’s just for my bangs. And maybe some of the other pieces around my face that are a little hard to manage. It might even be good for cowlicks too, which is sort of what I have going on with that widow’s peak which can be so annoying, if you have one you know.Honestly, the bottle is pretty small so I don’t know how many treatments would be in one bottle anyway if you were doing a full head. In that situation, it may be good for special occasions or particularly humid times when hair is extra wild. Or maybe for a test run to see if you want to go for a full on straightening treatment. Though I will say with all the straightening treatments I’ve had, my hair has never been poker straight, so you have to have realistic expecations. I’d say my hair is probably a 2C to 3A in spots, thick, dry, and maybe even a little coarse. So it’s never going to be a 1A. But you do what you can to work around the things you don’t like, and this product seemed to help me with that. Without a lot of damage or harsh chemicals, which is probably the best of all. This will definitely be in my toolkit for my next night out.

I will keep my review and rating as it is, but if anyone wants to use this product, it’s a good sign that they’re willing to communicate and offer help.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Please note: I’m not an expert in the areas of hair care or medicine/health care.As another user noted, the instructions are a bit involved and a little strange. You have to really wash your hair well first, so that’s one shower. Then you have to apply it to damp hair “evenly” – but avoid getting it on your scalp (leaving a half centimeter distance from the roots). That right there is pretty fussy, and it left me wondering why. [**Heads up: I’m no expert but I googled and found that in 2024 glyoxylic acid was potentially linked to serious health risks, possibly through contact with the skin, though I don’t think this is proven and the ingredient is still widely used.]But the fussiness of the application goes on: You have to leave it in for 40-60 minutes. If that were all, I could imagine dealing with it like a permanent hair color treatment.But no, there’s more: You must now somehow rinse out about 50% of the product. To me, that’s pretty gross. I really don’t want to leave any gloop on my hair. And if I’m supposed to avoid getting the product on my scalp, then I don’t really want to get the remaining 50% on my face while I’m drying my gloopy hair.But wait, there’s more: Now you’re told to “Dry hair completely, then use a flat iron on each strand 7-15 times depending on hair structure to seal in the treatment.” First of all, 7-15 times is about 5-15 times more than I want to run a flat iron through my hair. Secondly, I’m still wondering whether I want this product–heat “sealed” or not–touching my face while I sleep on it. I mean, I often wake up with my hair in my mouth.In the end, after reading these instructions and googling the ingredients, I decided to test it on a lock of hair that I cut off instead (it’s okay, I have a LOT of curly hair). The product feels like a silky, creamy hair mask; but I thought it was weird and slimy not to rinse everything out; but that said, it air-dried very nicely, feeling ultra soft and super conditioned; and after a light flat-iron (3-5 passes) the hair looked smooth and shiny but not limp, not stick-straight; I’m sure 10 passes would have straightened it right out and it would have looked really nice.So to sum up…if you want to go to all this trouble and take the (potential) risk, I think you’ll like the result. For me, it’s not worth it.

Soft and shiny hair from the very first use!
This is a real game-changer for my hair! It has a pleasant scent and a light texture that doesn’t weigh the hair down but deeply moisturizes it. After using it, my hair felt softer, shinier, and much easier to comb — even the ends looked healthier with less breakage. I applied it after washing, left it on for a few minutes, and the results were immediate. Highly recommended!
