I’ve been a fan of DSC for a while, so when I saw this kit, I figured why not? The value is great; you get everything you need in one go.What really makes this kit stand out is the attention to detail in making your shave comfortable. They throw in a prep scrub, which does a nice job at getting your skin ready by exfoliating, and a post-shave lotion that helps soothe any irritation. But for me, the shave butter what you should pay attention to. It’s lightweight, doesn’t clog up the razor, and gives you a clear view for those tight spots. Plus, with a bit of water, it lets the razor glide over your skin without any tugging.The 6-blade razor is sharp and perfect for those who like a super-close shave. I find it gives a really smooth result, though it’s definitely for someone who likes the extra precision that more blades can offer. You get 4 of them as well.If you’re into a really close shave and want a set that’s got everything, this kit’s a solid choice. Definitely worth trying if you’re curious about DSC or just want to upgrade your shaving game.

Better than the Mach5!
I’m angry! Angry I didn’t try these blades sooner! Not 3, not 4, not even 5, but 6 blades per cartridge have given me the absolute best, closest, most comfortable, and smoothest shave I’ve ever had. I’ve been a loyal Mach5 customer for years, and I wish I had discovered the Dollar Shave Club years ago! I pay less than half of what the Mach5s cost, and I’m getting a superior product! I’m never looking back.

Shaves great, nicely weighted handle, let me tell you all about it…
This is a very nice razor and it shaved better than I expected. This is a nice set. The razor handle has a nice weight to it and the handle is handsome looking and provides good grip so it does not slip. I found it easy to connect the handle to the razor blade cartridge. I normally shave with either Gillette or more commonly recently with Schick Hydro razor blade cartridges. I did try all of the included products, so I started with the Prep Scrub which is a thick gritty exfoliating scrub. It is easy enough to use, and may have actually improved the shave, though I will admit it is an extra step that I am not planning to continue using regularly, as I really prefer to get right to the shave cream and the shaving, skipping additional steps if not necessary, but if the exfoliation sounds appealing, or if this might be a gift, then I will say that the exfoliating scrub works well and is pleasant to use. I did not appreciate much fragrance, but it does smell clean. I then applied the Shave Butter which goes on clear as advertised, as the package notes specifically that this is “translucent for precision“ and it did go on completely clear, and I will point out that it did not create the foam shown in the product photos, instead just being an invisible product when applied. It did function well as it provided a smooth easy shave. The main problem with it being invisible is that it makes it harder to notice if you missed shaving an area, as you won’t notice that there is an area that still has shaving cream left to be removed. That seems like a minor point, but I would really prefer to have it be at least slightly visible to help ensure that every area gets shaved. The razor shaved remarkably well, better than expected. My facial hair is relatively course and this razor shaved through it with ease, even more so than I am used to with the big brand-name razors. This does also have the extra top rear trimmer blade, which I have become used to using to ensure I can get a shave right up close around my nose, and that worked, as well as the brand-name razor too. After the shave, I did use the Post Shave Dew which is essentially an after shaving moisturizer or balm, which is soothing and pleasant enough, but again I like to keep my shaving simple and will likely stick to the shave cream and razor and skip the pre-and post treatments myself, but for those who enjoy the extra steps then these products seem like good quality. None of them have much of a fragrance. I hope some of this is helpful for you. I do like it and I am impressed with how well the razor shaves.

Good Value
This kit from Dollar Shave Club is a pretty good value considering everything that’s included. The razors offer a decent shave, and the other pre and post shave products are nice. There are only two reasons why I didn’t give it a five star rating. The first is how delicate the cartridges are. Even the slightest tap on the sink to clear the hairs that get stuck between blades, and the plastic part that connects to the handle will break. The second is the fact that even though the shaving butter feels good, you need to apply a good amount in order to get a safe glide over your skin, so you will probably have to order this more frequently, basically nullifying any savings you got in the first place. Other than these issues, this is a pretty good kit, and I can definitely recommend it.

Pretty awesome set!
I’ve heard of Dollar Shave Club and have always been interested in trying, so was excited to try out their Dollar Shave Club – The Total Package Gift Set!I will say, I am female and got this for my husband, but have been using it myself haha!! I did get a second set and he has been using as well, we both LOVE the razors!Although the handle looks heavy, it is are not. Easy to hold which makes it easy to shave. It really does give a nice close shave, which is great for both males and females.I personally love the prep scrub, it really does prep my skin for a nice close shave! I don’t use it every time I shave but love when I do! That’s my favorite out of the 3 products!Very happy with Dollar Shave Club and will continue getting their razors for both myself and my husband!

I was skeptical but now I consider myself a convert
As a forever-time disposable razor guy, I was understandably skeptical of this three lotion shaving kit. Nevertheless, for science, I persevered.Firstly, the “prep scrub”. Let’s be honest, it’s just mud, right? But seriously I certainly felt the mild abrasive quality in this dirt-like lotion. I guess I felt exfoliated afterwards?The “shave butter” is more like a transparent lubricant. It did not feel oily or buttery, just slippery. Only a very small quantity is needed. The act of shaving was smooth and effortless. It works.The shaver itself is weighty. Slightly heavier than handles of high-end mass-market disposal head razors. It did its job. Shaving was effortless as mentioned above. With just one shave I cannot judge the lifetime of the razor head.Lastly, the “post shave dew” is a mild easy-to-apply and mostly scentless moisturizer. I appreciate the lack of pugentness, and yes, my skin does feel smoother.In summary, I really liked this product. As an initial skeptic I can now say that I am a convert. I really like the quality lotions and the shaver itself.
