Really Fragrance-Free
I used to be someone who tests out different perfumes and personal care products with different fragrance. However, my husband is asthmatic and very sensative fragrances (so are his parents). When we started going out, I started looking into different products that are fragrance-free. And only when I started doing that did I realize that it is not very easy to find them! Many products labeled unscented often still have an odor (pleasant to me, but ‘smelly’ as far as my husband is concerned!). It always amazed me how he could tell that I am using a new lotion or shampoo even it has been hours since I have used the product.When I came across Earth Scence Fragrance-Free Shampoo and Conditioner at PCC, I decided to give them a try. And I am so happy with the result. My husband did not complain about the smell because there is none! Neither did my in-laws when they came to visit. And these products are made of natural ingredients and are of good quality so that my hair does not suffer.I have since then started using their other products. Some of them are not fragrance-free, but the scents are so mild that even though my husband could detect them, they do not bother him.

Finally, A Fragrance Free Shampoo/Conditioner
I’m folding my reviews for Earth Science’s “Pure Essentials” Fragrance Free Shampoo and Conditioner together. In a nutshell, if you’re looking for a shampoo and a conditioner that don’t stink, go no further: you’ve found them. My wife and I recently spent about 45 minutes going through the hair care aisle in Wal-Mart looking for something that didn’t stink. We smelled the contents of every variety in that 25 foot long, 2 sided aisle to no avail. Everything either stank of bubble-gum, fruits, or perfume. I finally found these products here and gave them a try. The shampoo is completely odorless and the conditioner has only a very slight smell to it (it’s so slight, it’s hard to tell what it smells like, but it smells sort of “moist” (perhaps glycerin?)).Anyway, along with the smell, I was also worried about it’s “sudsyness.” No worry there, either. The shampoo works fine. I did have to wash my hair twice to get a full head of bubbles, but that could have been just because it was the first time I used it.My last worry is whether or not my hair will dry out. It’ll take a few days for me to determine that. So, I’ll revise this review when I figure it out. So far, though, I’m very pleased with these products and rate them at 5 stars out of 5.PS: I’m not allergic to the various frangrances manufacturers put into their products: I just can’t stand the stench. So, I can’t really say whether these products will be any good for those with severe allergies. But, if you are allergic, these are probably excellent products to try.UPDATE: I’ve been using these products for over a week now. First, it still takes two washes to get a full head of suds. It’s not a big thing, but it is a bit more effort than with regular shampoo. Second, my fear of drying out my hair was unfounded. No problem there at all. Unfortunately, there IS a problem: with these products, it’s much harder to run a brush/comb through my hair. It’s not that there are tangles or snarls or anything like that. The brush just doesn’t glide through like it used to. Since I have fairly short hair, it’s not too bad for me. But, my wife, with her longer hair, had to go back to a regular shampoo/conditioner. Because of this, I’d drop my rating from 5 stars down to 4 stars if Amazon would let me.

Finally, a shampoo that doesn’t make my scalp itch. For a while now I had been struggling to prevent scalp itchiness. I didn’t suffer from dandruff or dermatitis — it turned out to be a sensitivity to the ridiculous fragrances found in almost every shampoo on the market. Although this is a bit pricier than other good shampoos, the end of itchiness is worth it.Overall effectiveness is just fine. I am a male with short hair working in an office, so I’m not really dealing with a lot of problems that others often complain about. The smell is very mild, perhaps a hint on the “chemically” side. It’s not offensive and doesn’t linger at all.

Neither the shampoo nor the conditioner are odorless. I smell the shampoo from anywhere in the bath stall as soon as it comes out. The conditioner, at least, I have to bring to my nose to smell.They aren’t unpleasant smells, and they seem to treat my hair well, so three stars, anyway.But I was looking for products that are actually fragrance free — as in, I can’t smell them. Maybe that doesn’t exist in hair products.

It’s hard to find perfume-free shampoo and conditioner.I have tried several and this one is the best and I keep coming back to it over and over again.It has ZERO smell and it cleans well and makes hair soft and moisturized.Usually unscented and perfume free shampoos and conditioners are drying and pretty terrible. I will keep using this as long as they make it. 🙂

Definitely a gentle shampoo. It smells like nothing, no fragrance. It leaves my hair quite clean and it feels very very good but I find that I have to apply a lot of it to get a good lather going that will clean my long hair which might be contrary to using it as a gentle shampoo.
