Works better than expected

Still 3 of 3 bars on the original charge, too.I think this would be great for children. (I’ve witnessed the battles trying to cut nails on a preschooler, and have heard some parents say they just do it while the kid is sleeping – ha!) With this electric, it could become a game and fun for them.I can see how this would also be a game changer for those with mobility or dexterity issues in the hands.I tried the magnifier once, and it is effective. But practically, you can trim very accurately just by feel alone if you’re going for nails that are uniformly “short” at about 0.025 inch past the nail-bed.Another benefit is you can use it more often to maintain a consistent groomed look and feel. With the guard, I had no worries about cutting too short into the quick. Contrast my experience with mechanical clippers, where I must let my nails grow at least a week or 10 days between trims and remember to do it immediately after a shower or dishes while nails are soft. (The electric seems to trim better when the nails are dry and firm.)The trimmer blade has two guard settings – adult and child. There is a lever which flips between the two. I found this lever very difficult to toggle. Once I got it to “child” I have just left it alone as it still cuts my adult nails just fine.The spiral-cutter side left my nails trimmed and relatively free of burs or sharp edges that catch. The rotary-file is effective for quick touch ups or further deburring.Most all of the nail filings are captured onboard, with very little spilled or scattered. You can see them accumulate behind a transparent door.I also like the magnetic cover, which is a well-executed design solution.

Potentially a game changer for some people, but takes longer than traditional clipping
I have trouble with ingrown toenails, and I have a difficult time trimming my big toes while still keeping them long enough to not give me trouble, so I thought this LynnkUShine Electric Nail Clipper might work well for me. I did have to charge it first before using it, but since then it has held its charge well. It is a little confusing at first since it is so different from a regular nail clipper, and instead either files down the nail, or clips in little chips. I found that for basic trimming for me, using this nail clipper took a bit longer and was more tedious but I can see where it would be beneficial for many people. Since I did purchase it for my big toes, however, I will say it really helped me shape my toenails without danger of cutting off too much, so I am pleased. I always have trouble getting the clipper at the right angle to safely clip them and this electric nail clipper was so much easier in that respect. I will be using it mainly for that purpose since I found clipping my fingernails with a regular clipper much faster and easier. I can see this being a much safer tool for clipping children’s nails, as well as anyone with tremors, just to name a few circumstances, and well worth purchasing.

Functions well, with some minor complaints
I never used or seen electric nail clippers like this before, and it’s not really clear from the listing how this works. But it is a spiral cut blade that spins and there’s a small slot you can stick your fingernail in and it cuts very small chips from it to slowly almost whittled down the nail to where you want it to be. The design does make it pretty difficult to cut the fingernail too deep or to cut the skin. If you’ve ever cut the fingernails of a child you can probably see why that might be beneficial.There are two speeds, and there is also rotary grinding area to sand down the edges of nail. There are two sizes of the slots you adjust by flipping a lever, which allows a little bit smaller or bigger of an area to access the cutting blade. The smaller area might be more useful on smaller fingers to even further lessen the chance of accidental cuts.In addition there is port to attach either a polishing wheel or a tapered grinding burr to further refine the finish of the nails. There’s also a area behind a little door that collects the filings from the cutting blade.There is a little LED light that helps a little bit and place for a magnifying glass to stick in. Additionally it comes with a brush, and a short USB-C charging cord.Overall it feels like a fairly sturdy device. It works pretty well, but it doesn’t trim as quickly as a pair of scissors or clippers. However it’s certainly less likely to catch skin or make incomplete cuts, therefore making the process of trimming nails a little bit safer and maybe less stressful for some people like small children or the elderly.I found it a little awkward to use on some of the fingernails, and difficult to use on my toes, especially if you’re using it on yourself. Additionally if you like your nails very short it can be challenging to get them extremely short.My other minor complaints are there’s nowhere to store the extra accessories it comes with. It would have seemed easy to design it so that you could keep the burr and magnifying glass somewhere in the lid or something like that. Those parts are almost certainly going to easily get lost. The buttons are also unlabeled but there’s only two of them and fairly easy to figure out.I think it’s a little pricey for what it is. There are a lot of other very similar designs available and this seems to be at the top end of the range for these devices. I think it’s a fairly decent version but they all work in a fairly similar manner.Overall it seems like a fairly well built machine, functions pretty well, and I’m reasonably happy with the order. I think it will help with some care of my elderly parents and might even be fun for the trimming fingernails on my child.
