    It says it’s for women, but what if you’re a guy???

    Women have always had the “nail thing” figured out.They’d do their own with one tool or another (or several), and maybe at some point they’d graduate to a nail salon.Now, they get perfect looking nails in any shape, length, and color imaginable. It’s fast and easy.But what about men?We’re stuck with a clipper and a file…snip-snip and maybe file away the sharp edges, and that’s it.I’ve bought a ton of nail clippers over the years and they do the job, but frankly my nails never looked great, were a little uneven, and NO, I’m not shelling out for a manicure every month.I’ve done that a couple of times with my wife and the nail technician did a nice job, but that’s $40 after the tip.If monthly, that’s about $500 a year, plus drive time and sitting through the appointment. Not happening. I’ll do my thing with the clippers and be satisfied.Then I saw the Duraplusio electric clipper. I read up on it and decided to give it a try.First impression: It’s small…exactly the same size as my bluetooth earphone case. I like that. It’s doesn’t have that “tool” size or feel.Second impression: The instructions have that typical tiny-sized font that is very hard to read. Sorry, it’s a pet peeve of mine. Don’t make me reach for a magnifier to read how to use your product. Okay, rant over.Clipping: There are three speeds. It didn’t take very long to cut the nails down. The blades are not exposed and you just run the nail edge along the track provided and the gentle grinding does the job. I was done in maybe 10 minutes.What surprised me was that if I just followed the guide of this track, the nail came out evenly clipped without much, if any, touchup.Buffing: Two speeds. I went with the higher of the two and it was perfect. This smooths things out. Another 3-4 minutes.I have not used the ring brush or polishing cloth, but I’m sure my wife will…IF I EVER LET HER SEE IT.If you’re a guy or you’re in a relationship with a guy who’s been doing nails the old fashioned way as described, this little unit may be a breakhrough. It sure has been for me.It costs less than a single manicure at a salon and the whole thing takes minutes.The best thing is that my nails look better than they have in forever, so it’s a total winner.It has a standard USB-C charging connection, so you can use the provided cord, or plug in your cellphone charger for a faster reboot.Okay, I know most of the reviews will be from women, but I wanted to get a man’s perspective into the mix.

    This electric nail clipper works amazing! It is super light weight and way to use. It has multiple different function and tools. It cuts with precision and even has a nail filer and black light too! The appearance is nice and sleek. The value for money is great. This is a great thing to have if you constantly do your nails. I would recommend this for anyone doing their nails. It is a game changer.

    Works great as a clipper, curing light not so much

    Duraplusio Electric Nail Clipper – I was skeptical but this thing actually works great for trimming. You run your nail along the slot and it grinds it down even, and the safety guard means I can’t nick myself.It’s tiny, about the size of an earbud case, and charges over USB-C so the battery lasts me weeks.Two gripes. The little compartment for the filings is a pain to clean out, and the LED curing light did nothing for gel polish, so I just ignore that part.As a clipper and buffer though, I’m happy with it.

    Decent Nail Clipper, Underwhelming Dryer

    This electric nail clipper with LED gel polish dryer is a cool little gadget and works pretty well for trimming and shaping nails once you get the hang of it. It does take a bit of practice at first to figure out the best way to use it, but after a few tries it becomes easier and more effective for basic nail maintenance.The gel polish dryer feature is not very effective in my experience, so I would not rely on it for that purpose. However, as a nail trimmer it does a decent job and is convenient to use. It does feel a little pricey for what it offers, especially since the dryer function does not work very well. Overall, it is useful for trimming nails but has some limitations.

    [Wife’s review after using this on me]: My first try, I thought this was trash. I gave it one more go and actually really like it. I like the safety of it to help prevent injuries and discomfort. My husband is nervous for others to do his nails in fear they will hit the nail bed. He was relaxed and comfortable during the whole process. I also held it with the buttons facing outward, so thumb side, and had no issues with accidental button presses.It took about 3-5 minutes to finish a longer nail. It took 20-30 minutes to do one whole hand that had a few longer nails. Some of the dust gets caught, but plenty flies around still (my eye is still agitated). It does take a bit of pressure to get a harder nail filed. The buffing helped to even and smooth things out.Part of the appeal for this was a portable and compact LED curing light. I tried it with a gel polish pen that claims to be compatible with UV/LED and it did nothing after about 7 minutes of trying. I’m not sure if it was the gel polish pen or the light, but it didn’t work for me making it an unnecessary and useless feature.I also wish the light for the nail clipper area was a soft white light or something rather than blue.
