DELIVERIES:First of all, the first stand arrived broken (no problems with refund). The second was apparently taken by a relocating neighbor or their movers (Had to invoke Amazon’s A-Z guarantee). The third never made it past the pickup stage? The fourth made it, unbroken. *PATIENCE*.PRODUCT:It didn’t fit GBS 100% Silvertip Badger Bristle Shaving Brush Light Horn Color & Free Chrome Brush Stand around the chrome metal band part (SLOT TOO NARROW).The stand looks much smaller than I thought it would be: It IS a very attractive item.But here’s the good news – since I like the idea of having all horn items (including razor, brush, palm bowl, etc.), I am going to order ONE more and take another chance.This gentleman who works at a local apothecary that sells specialized high-end shaving gear tipped me off that I might be able to rest the brush upon the horn part (not the chrome tip). The brush is pretty heavy, so I will update the review afterwards.The reason why the mismatch surprises me is that both this stand and the brush are made by GBS (You would think this would have occurred to them).UPDATE 10/16/2013I FINALLY did get one to arrive in unbroken condition with no delivery issues and it is a very nice stand, the horn used in it’s construction perfectly matches the GBS brush (but not the parker brand horn razor – which uses a lighter-colored horn that is not as pleasing to the eye).I was able to rest the brush on the horn part as was suggested, however it does not stay in position 100% of the time. It doesn’t fall off, just slips, and I have to constantly reset it.Still, TOTALLY worth it for the look/style of the overall horn set I was going for. It could only be better if all of these items were available in bronze finish.

Eye catching, sturdy and worth the price!
This is my first review for anything! This stand exceeded my expectations, it is larger than I expected and is very sturdy and has good weight to it.The only thing that I had to do was to remove the bottom pad to tighten the screw that kept the base tight against the center hornpiece. Other than that it’s a great stand and gives my bathroom counter a touch of class and matches well with my horn safety razor & brush!

I should read product reviews more often, given that my dissatisfaction with this horn stand repeats other reviews. The tongs are much too narrow to grip the (very expensive) horn handled brush it is supposed to accommodate. I love my brush and will allow it to rest in a much cheaper plastic stand. Don’t buy this stand if you are trying to assemble a combination set of brush and horn handled razor. I’m curious about why the manufacturer failed to foresee this obvious design flaw.

Perfect fit for a Shaving Brush & Razor & Looks Great
My Parker Faux Horn Shaving Brush fits perfectly as well as my Horn handle Parker 11R safety razor. After reading some reviews I was not sure that would be the case but they have no trouble parking in place as intended. I also found a buffalo horn shave bowl to complete the set. Like all natural products, except for the faux brush handle, there are some variations for one reason or another but nothing to be overly concerned about. The set looks like it should be together and in couple of words: looks great. So in a nutshell, the GBS Horn Brush & Razor stand is the focal point of this great looking set and works well with the other pieces.

Really sharp looking
Beautiful stand with a nice detailed oxhorn pattern on the center post. My oxhorn razor looks great with it. The only issue that I noticed is that my very high quality Boars hair lather brush really doesn’t quite fit in the holder. It seems that the prongs on the holder are just a tiny bit too close together for a proper fit with the brush. It works fine, but I have to force the brush handle onto the post opening. It looks beautiful with my razor and my polished shaving cream hand bowl.

This stand works well, looks good and is an excellent value. As good or better than my St. James shop stand for 1/10th of the price.
