My hair is short so maybe that’s why but it doesn’t stay in very well. I always have to use Bobby pins and stuff to keep it in. It’s easy to put up but falls out easy. My hair is about shoulder length.

Good Heatless Styling Set! Stretches Natural Hair and Adds Curls to Heat-Straightened Hair

This is a good heatless styling set!It comes with almost everything you need to do a full head of heatless curls. You get one long roller that stretches across the head, two scrunchies to secure the hair, and a clip to hold the roller in place at the top of the head while you wrap your hair around it. The basic process is simple: place the roller across your head, clip it in place, wrap your hair around both sides, secure the ends with the scrunchies, and go to sleep.The only thing not included is a bonnet, which you will need to keep the setup together overnight.I have natural kinky hair with a mix of 4A, B, and C textures, so to get a more traditional result, I have to blow my hair out first.But if I use it on my natural hair, I think of it more as a heatless stretching tool than a traditional curling tool.Either way, it works.On blown out hair, I get a nice curl and body.On natural hair, It helps stretch it, adds a little definition, and gets the hair generally going in the same direction. Keeping my hair stretched also helps reduce single-strand knots, so this has actually been useful for the health of my ends.The roller and scrunchies are made from a soft, stretchy fabric, and I find them very gentle. My hair has decent density, but my individual strands are fine, so I have to be careful with styling tools. I have not had any breakage with this set.One thing I do differently is that I do not use the included clip on top of my head throughout the process. I prefer to use a duckbill clip just to hold the roller in place while I wrap my hair, then I remove the clip before going to sleep. I find the duckbill holds just as well and feels like…tense on top of my head. So if you have a duck or alligator clip, you can use that instead.And one sizing note: I got the set for fine hair because my individual strands are fine.But when they say “fine hair,” I think they really mean low-density hair, because the roller is a bit small for me. Like I can manage it, but another roller would be handy.If you have fine strands but a lot of hair, I would suggest getting the thick hair set instead.If your strands are coarse but your hair is low-density, the fine hair set will work.Overall, I would recommend this set if you are interested in heatless styling. It is simple, gentle, easy to use, and useful for both heatless curls and heatless stretching, depending on your hair type.

After watching a few videos and some trial and error, I have perfected the heatless curl with my hair type, but I will say.. adding hair spray while it’s still in your hair and again once you take the curler out is essential for the curls to stay perfect! With someone like me who has super long hair… a bit of a longer curler would be nice tho!
