    Best crimper on the market, but still needs improvement

    Gold N’ Hot is STILL the only crimping iron on the market with high enough heat for a good result. Bought this model to replace an old Gold N’ Hot from a few years back that had split metal sides that separated the first week, making it very challenging to use. When its hinge also broke last month, I ordered this one with its improved design (one-piece sides not prone to breakage). But all controls were inconveniently moved to the inside of the tool with a tiny on-off toggle, heat control wheel, and small power indicator light. Most unfortunately, there are no arrows or words to indicate which way to turn the wheel for low or high heat. So although the crimper works great, it is still a pain to use and regulate.

    I love this crimper

    I love this crimper. I like the fact you can adjust the heat temp. It is a little hard to read what temp your on but over all its great. I needed a crimper that gets really hot. I have very straight hair that doesnt hold any curls from regular curling irons because most do not get hot enough. This does the trick and my hair will hold the crimp for a couple of days. Yes, my hair will smell a little burnt. Just spray a little perfume or hair product. After a few washes and little extra conditioner its back to smelling good!

    What a difference

    This is such a huge step up from my old crimper (like mid 2000). This crimper has a temperature setting. It warms up quickly and you can control how deep of a crimp you want with how long you hold the crimp in place.I have super long hair (down to my knees – I’m 5’10”). It use to take me 3 to 4 hours with my old crimper to get a decent crimp. I can crimp all my hair with a medium crimp in 1 hour, or 1.5 hours for a deep crimp, and 45 min for a soft crimp.I totally recommend this crimp. I have fairly thick hair (asian/italian) so I can use the hottest setting, but would recommend you starting at a low heat setting to see if you like the crimp and how it does on your hair and slowly going up in temperature. If you have thin brittle hair you would want to use the lowest setting so you don’t burn off your hair.

    This product won’t work outside of US. It has the wrong wattage and power plug. The seller returned the $ for the sale and asked me to return it, but I had to pay my own postage costs which were 1/3 of the cost of it

    Ordered this to complete my 80s hair style and it worked great. I got compliments all night on how good my hair looked. I usually struggle with products heating up hot enough for my hair, but this is great!

    Best Crimper I Have Ever Used

    I am not sure how much that is saying since I haven’t used a crimper since the 80’s… but it’s still an amazing crimper.My 7 year old needed her hair crimped for dance pictures and an upcoming recital. I ordered this one.I decided to crimp her hair Friday night for pictures on Saturday just in case this didn’t work as well as I was hoping it would. I started out spraying her hair down with the Got2b Guardian angel Gloss Finish Flat Iron Balm, 6.8-Ounce, then sectioned her hair off into 10 sections or so. (Her hair is almost waist length.)I was shocked at how little time I actually had to hold the crimper in place for. I started at the root, put the hair in the crimper, squeezed down for a second, let go, moved down the hair, squeezed down for a second, moved down, etc. I didn’t want to burn her hair, so I literally held it for a second or so and it took beautifully. I had her whole head done in about 15 minutes.I had her sleep in a silk sleeping cap so that her hair wouldn’t rub all over her pillow.When she got up in the morning, I finished it off with Mastey Oil Treatment (I didn’t buy that through Amazon) and Garnier Fructis Style Volumizing Anti Humidity Hairspray, 8.25 Ounce. She looked gorgeous. There are 11 other girls in her dance class and most of their mothers asked me how I got her hair like I did (they were all supposed to have the same hair, some parents used small braids, I think one used a crimper, and only one had hair whose crimp resembled my daughter’s.) The owner of the studio came up to my daughter, held her hair in her hands and said I LOVE THIS HAIR.My daughter has really thin hair that doesn’t hold any type of curl for very long unless we use the sponge curlers on wet hair and let her sleep in it overnight, heated hair appliances rarely create something in her hair that lasts long. This held all night, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday.Loved it! So glad I picked this one.
