Impressive
This bar of soap is bursting with essential oils that are great for your hair, scalp and body. The fragrance is like aromatherapy in your shower. The thick, rich lather is no joke, I’ve never seen a bar of soap lather up this much! Because of this, a little goes a long way and this is a long lasting product. It rinses clean and leaves you feeling smooth and smelling good. It’s extremely effective for dry skin. I noticed a huge difference. It’s 3-in-1 and surprisingly, unlike other soaps, you won’t need any other product. That makes showers easy, with a reliable clean.

So much lather!
Picked this up for my hubby. According to the listing, this is good for beards, shampoo, and body wash. Hubby doesn’t have a beard. He started out using it only for shampoo, but unfortunately it makes his scalp itch. Now he’ll use this Grown Ass Man 3-in-1 shampoo bar as a body soap only. English is his second language so I had to explain the brand name to him (giggle.) I’m not sure what an “Island Barrel” should smell like, but the scent is very light and we mostly smell cinnamon. We would have liked the scent to be stronger and to actually get the citrus notes. It is a large, 4 oz bar. Many shampoo bars are smaller. So far it is lasting rather than melting rapidly, but we keep it dry between uses to extend the life. $10.99 is a lot for a bar of shampoo/soap. Of course it will go a lot quicker if its used for body soap, shampoo, and a beard. There was no greasy residue or stickiness, just itchiness.

It might be early on in the evaluation process for this bar soap, because at $10.99/bar (less with a subscription), it better last much longer than your typical bar soap. Time will tell, but beyond price, I am finding some distinct differences, especially with ingredients. This Grown Ass Man brand is labeled as organic. Photos are attached and include a comparison of Bad Ass vs. a very well known brand: it’s a clear difference to me, but you can decide.I tried the Bad Ass as both a shampoo and body wash. It lathers well and seems as good as my current shampoo (same brand as the soap; ok, it’s Dove). And the Bad Ass fragrance is a fresh cinnamon and not overpowering. But what was most noticeable was the absence of what I would call a soapy residue feeling on the skin that I got from regular bar soap even after rinsing off thoroughly. With Bad Ass, it had a much cleaner feel.I would like to continue using Bad Ass if the price was more reasonable. I’m sure the organic ingredients are more costly, as they usually are, but I will wait and see what the ongoing results are and how long the bar lasts.

Amazing soap, worth every penny
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first tried Grown Ass Man Co., but I’m officially a fan. This is one of those products that actually feels like someone put some thought into making a really good bar of soap instead of just slapping a “for men” label on something. The scent is fantastic — strong, fresh, and actually lasts instead of disappearing the second you rinse off. Even right out of the packing, the scent gives it that clean, outdoorsy smell without being ridiculously overpowering.The bar also lathers really well and leaves me feeling clean without that overly dry, stripped feeling, it works really really well. I really like that the brand focuses on natural-origin ingredients and uses things like jojoba oil, shea butter, and essential oils. Their body bars are also designed to exfoliate, so you get more than just a basic bar of soap.I also appreciate the whole philosophy behind Grown Ass Man Co. They make products specifically for men while avoiding a lot of the unnecessary stuff found in generic personal-care products. And the fact that their products are 98–100% natural origin is a nice bonus. The branding and name definitely made me laugh, but the actual product is what sold me. This is genuinely great soap. It smells great, lathers nicely, cleans well, and leaves you feeling fresh afterward. I’ll definitely be trying some of their other scents because this one exceeded my expectations. Sure it’s a bit more money than a bar of something generic but it is worth every penny! Definitely recommend giving it a shot if you’re tired of boring drugstore body wash!

An Unpleasant Scent That Misses the Mark Entirely
I ordered this 3-in-1 bar for my husband, Kevin, because we wanted to test out this company’s lineup and see if their products were any good. Unfortunately, this one turned out to be a total miss right out of the box. Neither of us could quite figure out what the “Island Barrel” scent was actually aiming for, but whatever it is, it smells genuinely awful.Instead of leaving behind the kind of crisp, invigorating fragrance you expect from a quality hair, beard, and body wash, it carries a murky, off-putting aroma. It completely fails to give any impression of being clean and fresh, which makes using it as a daily grooming product a chore rather than a treat. It is a real disappointment, and it is safe to say we won’t be rushing to try anything else from this brand.
