The work AWESOME! I have three kids who love to play around with their hair color, but play sports where the other methods of temporary hair color don’t last. With other products, they would inevitably start sweating and it would be running down their faces. These are more like crayons, so they have a waxy feel to them when applied – though it’s not heavy and it can be brushed/styled after application. The benefit is that the color doesn’t run once they start to get active. They’ve also had some good luck with it staying put during water activities including swimming. It washes out easily and the colors are even more vibrant than some of the other products I’ve used which is great for my kids dark hair. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Will definitely be ordering more.

Works well with water
We used on medium-brown hair. The colors purple, blue, and red worked very well (purple lasted almost a week with washings every day). The colors yellow, orange, and green did not (maybe on blond hair they would work better?). We applied with water and the water seems to help the color spread evenly on the hair. Much better option for kids than permanent dye!

Does not show up in dark hair as promised
I was highly disappointed in these.I got these for Halloween and they were very difficult to use! It said it would show up on dark hair and that was not the case. You could barely see the colors in my hair, and it was very hard to apply. I expected the product to go on smoothly; however it would come out with chunks in my hair and then the color would not show very well. I was not able to color my hair the way it was shown in pictures.

I bought this for my six year olds hair for crazy hair night at an event. He said he wanted half blue and half green hair. I wanted something easy that washed out well. This product was perfect. It was easy to apply and stayed in without leaving color everywhere. It was also easy to wash out. My son has brown hair and you could see the green and blue color. If you want something super vibrant than this may not be the product for you if you have dark hair. But for me it got the job done and was easy to use.

Great product
My kids wore this for crazy hair day at preschool. It was easy to use. My kids loved it. I have a platinum blonde son and it showed up wonderful in his hair. My daughter has dirty blonde hair so it was a little harder in her hair but still showed up a lot. I think if I took more time it would have been better but we are always rushed in the mornings. She loved it. I got a lot on my hands when applying but it washed off no problem. It washed right out of their hair too. Most of it came out with just water so be careful with rain. It didn’t stain any clothes. I hope it stores and lasts so we can use it again.

Works well for a subtle color on brown hair!
As good as it gets without spending $$$ for a full dyed hair! I have brown dark hair and wasn’t sure if the color will show. The more you rub it in, the brighter it gets (see top pic)! The color stays and blends pretty wel (bottom right pic)! It feels like a mix between chalk and wax. Once it sets it feels like hair with gel, a bit stiff. For example, at the bottom left pic you can see my hair all over the place but still holding some shape after some headbanging. It may get into clothing and whatnot so I don’t recommend sleeping on light colored bedding or wearing light colored shirts. When applying it, I’d recommend wearing gloves, and having a surface to rub against. I used my face (straightened hair against face and traced my hair with the color pens) and also a piece of paper over cardboard. Both work very well. As a bonus, the colors also show well on skin (check out my little rainbow cheek blush in the pics). I have quite some hair so I will probably need to get two boxes to do my whole head if I want it bright.Update: if it gets hot/ you start to sweat, it will start to melt the colors on your skin. Keep the use to hair, and don’t wear light clothes.

So this hair “chalk” is great. It’s kinda more a crayon in texture than a chalk but that’s honestly why it’s better. It’s self sealing so unlike other chalks I’ve used it didn’t run all over the place or change the color of my sink trying to put it in.The colors are vibrant and that is great. I have dirty blonde to brownish hair so consider that though.I did notice the the first time I put in it left my hair feeling like I had put gel in it but it wasn’t to bad because I could comb it and the color didn’t come out and it looked better afterwards.Second time I actually made sure my hair was wet even though the instructions do not mention it and it was soooooo much better!! Man it still went on easily and wasn’t running but the color looked closer that if I had actually dyed it and was soft and not even a little stiff.So yeah easy to use and looks good without effort and can look fricking amazing with some.

Great for kids, easy to wash out, bright vibrant color.
My son wanted his hair rainbow but his school forbids “unnatural” hair color so I went with some hair chalk. Like others have said these are more like crayons. Both of my children have darker hair, him more than her, and it colored both of their hair quite well. I didn’t apply it really heavily but you can see in the photos how vibrant it was. It stayed like that for three days until we washed their hair. As long as you give it a half hour or so to cure it stays on and doesn’t rub off onto other things. We’ll definitely purchase this again once we’re out.
