Fresh, clean, coconut scent and great for frizzy hair
My hair smells so good and it was so easy to air dry and then straighten. I love the fresh, clean, coconut scent of this hair mask and I used it as a mask but plan to use it as a hair treatment next time when I have more time to spare. I left it on mid to ends for 10 minutes and rinsed it, that was after using my regular shampoo and conditioner. You can also use this mask as a conditioner as well, but I prefer it as a mask. It is not runny so it stays put when you put it in your hair, it is lightweight and a good consistency. This tub is large and will last me a long time because I only wash my hair once a week. I have naturally curly hair but I wear it straight most of the time and I let it air dry then brushed it and used my straightening iron the next morning and my hair has stayed non frizzy and shiny. I do not have an oiliness to my hair, my ends look good and not frayed, and the humidity here in the south did not make my hair immediately curl up. Of course, I was not outside for very long either. I think this is a good value for the money especially because it is multi use as conditioner, mask, and/or hair treatment depending how long you leave it on. So far it is effective for me, and that is a good thing because I had recently run out of a mask from another brand that I had been using.

Made my ends very sticky and weird
I was really excited about this product, but unfortunately I didn’t have a great experience. It did something strange to my hair that I can’t quite explain. But in a nutshell, it made my ends very dry and snaggy. So when I did a rough dry like I usually do to about 75%, my ends felt super sticky. Imagine if you have a lot of hairspray in your hair and you get caught in a rain shower and then it dries. Then you try to comb through it.. it snags and breaks your hair. Well that’s what happened to me, except I had just washed my hair. So there was no reason it should have felt like that. So, I won’t be using that again… Also, be aware that the dominant scent is coconut.

I’m reviewing the Lumiyou Luminous Hair Mask for Damaged Hair. As advertised, it’s a keratin treatment conditioner. While hair masks may take a bit longer to use than regular conditioners, they can definitely be worth it. So, how does the Lumiyou Luminous Hair Mask do?I have long, fine blonde hair and am at the age where it’s drying and thinning out. I’ve switched to paraben and sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners, which have helped, but I need all the help I can get. I really appreciate that this hair mask is colorant-free, cruelty-free, and sulfate-free.This mask contains not just hydrating keratin, but also collagen, biotin, and coconut oil. The coconut oil smells great. This summer has been extremely hot and humid, and these conditions have not been kind to my fine dry hair. My hair needs hydration.To use the mask, I shampoo as usual, towel dry, and then apply it from mid-length to the ends. I personally leave it in for 15 minutes. I make sure to rinse it out well to avoid weighing down my fine hair. Once I do this, my hair feels very soft, hydrated, shiny, and much less frizzy.I’ve used the mask a couple of times and plan to use it once or twice a month, as I wash my hair every three days. So far, I’m really liking the product and expect to continue seeing positive results.At the time of my review, in August 2026, the cost of this 10-ounce container of hair mask is $24.99. Considering that it should last me months, I find this to be a reasonable price. I have taken a picture next to an everyday object for perspective purposes.
