    Great concept worked once and not the second time

    The HUAYULINK Hair Oil Applicator Comb and Scalp Massager 2 in 1 is a product that 3/4 of it is great quality and 1/4 is poor quality, which makes it difficult to reuse.The product listing photos are very clear and accurate on how the product appears. It has a black silicone cover and that is the area that you pour the oil inside. There are instructions inside the box.I used 100% almond oil and the product work perfectly the first time, it was very easy to use and it dispensed evenly.The problem came in when I tried to do it a second time. The black silicone cover would not stay in place. The silicone cover only has a very small lip to fit in to the container and it’s not long enough to stay secure. Some of the oil got on the inside cap where it’s supposed to attach together and I could not get it to stay in place. That’s the part of the design that has a lot of flaws.When I tried to use it the second time since the lid was not secure, I turned it in a certain direction and the oil spilled out. I also tried washing the silicone cap with a degreaser detergent, but I could never get it to stay secure like the first time. It was disappointing because it worked so well and it just needs a much better secure design for the top that holds the oil in place.

    Decent for regular scalp treatments

    I got this originally for neater way to do some oil treatments to my scalp and was hoping this would help apply it in a neater way. Technically, yes it does that, but at a much slower rate than I was hoping so I needed to change my metal expectations of what I want to use it for.I love the comb aspect on this. Make it easy to keep my hair from tangling up and getting so messy when doing scalp treatments. I really enjoy how it feels on my scalp, very massage meets head scratching (the good kind) that you don’t often get with the silicone combs.I was surprised how slowly the oil dispersed. I did a blend of black seed oil, castor oil and almond oil, so the viscosity shouldn’t have been too much higher than most oil products. In fact, I had to check it along my arm and back of the hand to see if it was genuinely coming out. It was, just very subtly and slowly (see video). When I saw how much was coming out, I decided this would be ideal for a specific style scalp treatment rather than a scalp and hair treatment. It would work great for a daily or multiple times a week scalp serum. I did circular motions, combing back motions and zigzag motions to apply the oil and it took between 5 and 10 min before you could even tell there was more oil on my scalp despite me having fine, thin hair. So be prepared to have it take a while. Also note, at that rate of dispense, it would be very difficult to go through all 30 ml of oil capacity, however that makes it great for not having to clean it every time and it has a lovely cap for the comb to sit in without leaking everywhere.I am happy I have this and do foresee using it now that I have adjusted my expectations accordingly.

    Finally a way to apply oil treatment to the scalp without it going everywhere

    I am losing my hair and I hate it so a friend told me about applying rosemary castor oil blend to my scalp to help regrow my hair so I tried the old fashion way of using a comb and oil to try massaging it in and doing it that way you waste oil and it goes everywhere. So I saw this applicator and I was intrigued to try it and I’m very happy I did! it applies my oil right at the scalp it has little rollers on the ends so you can massage it in and the oil isn’t wasted and it don’t end up everywhere! I’m starting to see an improvement in my hair thickness I still have a ways to go but I’m optimistic that my hair will start coming back in. This is a great price and it’s a huge value because you’re not wasting your treatment it applies where you need it and as you roll it around it applies the oil so if you’ve ever used roll on perfume or deodorant you know about how much is applied and that’s the same with this but the rollers are a lot smaller so it’s perfect. It’s easy to use easy to fill and you’re not wasting anything and your treatment don’t end up all over you, your wall, your mirror, your dog and cat(yeah there’s a story) so it’s perfect.

    Effective little tool, the cap though

    I got this to dispense oil to my scalp, since my hair started falling out. I’ve only used it a handful of times. At first the cap fit fine, the first use went great. The second or third time around, I noticed what someone else mentioned— the cap/rubber cover would not stay in place. I still used it, holding the cap in place with my finger, and tilting my head so that the dispenser was always straight and with the cover pointing up, to avoid leaks. Then I realized that after I started using it, the cap would stay in place even without me holding it. My guess is, after dispensing some product, it creates a vacuum that holds the cover in place. I don’t know why or how, but it’s working. I’m still very cautious either way, bcs I don’t want oil to get everywhere and ruin my clothes. I wouldn’t trust this or any oil dispenser that much.

    A neat gadget to dispense oil on the scalp… but it leaks

    UPDATE: After filling it with oil (about a 1/2 tablespoon full in the container) and using it for the first couple of times, it leaked all around the seam, where the black rim of the applicator meets the container. Most of oil got all over my fingers instead of onto my scalp/roots of my hair. This is very disappointing give how much this is priced for.I never knew such thing existed and I’m so happy to have found this neat little scalp oil dispenser. This oil applicator dispenses tiny drops of your favorite oil onto the scalp without greasing up your hair (in this test, I used water to fill the container, see photo). I love it! I have been using my fingers to massage oil onto my scalp, but I hate that it gets my hair all oily. This oil applicator gets a tiny bit of oil on the roots of my hair, but it is nowhere near how messy it used to be before when I was just putting droplets directly onto my scalp. I would rather have this container be clear in order be able to see how much oil I pour into it. This product is made in China.

    Makes mixing and apply hair solutions easy

    I opened the black cap on the top of the applicator and added a few oils I like to use on my hair (pumpkin seed, castor, etc) and a few drops of essential oils that I use (rosemary, tea tree, etc) directly in the applicator. I like that I was able to pour the oils directly into the container that I am using to apply the oils and I didn’t have to get a separate mixing bowl dirty like I usually do. The side of the applicator has a clear part where you can see how much oil you have added, although unless you are using a lot of oil, it’s a little hard to see how much you have in there. The clear plastic cover on the bottom of the applicator will hold the applicator slightly suspended in the air, so it won’t depress the rollers while you are filling it – make sure you don’t try to fill the applicator with the metal prongs sitting directly on your counter because it will leak oil out of the bottom.There are rollers on the bottom of some of the metal prongs which allow oil to flow from the applicator down to your scalp. I found that it worked better (and released more oil) if I gently depressed the black cap on the applicator while simultaneously moving the applicator prongs around on my scalp. You might not need to do this if you are applying a thinner substance (like minoxidil), but I found that I couldn’t get enough oil out otherwise. Once I got the hang of it, the application was easy to do and left a perfect amount of oil on my scalp without it making my hair all greasy.I would not store oil in the applicator as it would go rancid, so you’ll want to wash the applicator out after each use. I was able to run hot water and soap thru it by filling the applicator and depressing the prongs against my hand until the water came out clean.     Makes applying minoxidil much easier to full scalp

    This hair oil applicator is great for using to apply my minoxidil daily. I’ve been doing it with my fingers until now for so long, which makes my hair look oily by my scalp. This applicator gets the formula straight to my scalp with very little contact to my hair strands. The measuring lines aren’t in mL, so since minoxidil needs to be applied in 1 ml doses, I just use the applicator tube that comes with my treatment and pour it into it. As you can see from my photo, the applicator storage compartment is large, and the 1 mL that I put in basically disappears into it- I assume into the applicator roller chambers. It does leak just a tad from time to time, as you can see in my photo.Overall, it’s a great applicator that I wish I found out about sooner. It’s made my twice daily minoxidil applications much much easier, and I don’t have to worry so much about having to scrub my fingers clean for the safety of myself and my pups. Would highly recommend.
