Effective mask that makes hair shiny and silky
This hair mask rocks! I have fine hair so a lot of conditioners make my hair look and feel greasy, even after being rinsed out. This doesn’t. It just leaves it feeling silky and smooth. The mask is light and a little runny, but it smooths into the hair easily and doesn’t really drip out. There’s a light and clean fragrance but it’s not overpowering and doesn’t leave your hair heavily perfumed. It gives my hair a nice shine and I feel like it tangles less too.

I ordered the Jumybee Hydrating Keratin Hair Mask because I was drawn to the ingredients highlighted on the front: yuzu, cocoa butter, and hydrolyzed keratin sounded really promising. The label also prominently features cruelty free, paraben free and sulfate free claims which made me assume the formula was clean and thoughtfully made. I didn’t look further into the full ingredient list. I should have before ordering.The mask has a conditioner-like texture and a fruity floral scent that is pleasant. I applied it only to the lengths and ends, avoiding the roots due to the propylene glycol in the formula. Left it on for a few minutes as directed. My hair did feel soft afterward but it didn’t rinse out easily.Looking at the full ingredient list, mineral oil and petrolatum are prominently featured. These are heavy petroleum derivatives that coat the hair to create a soft feeling rather than actually treating damage. The keratin and panthenol are good ingredients but they’re surrounded by those fillers.At $19.99 for 8.8oz, the price is not worth it I’m sorry to say. There are other products, especially kbeauty brands, that have better ingredients for the price and size of the product.
