Nice Curling Iron – BUT…The On/Off Button is TOO easy to accidently turn off while using it.
I was anxious to try this curling iron, but it keeps shutting off due to the proximity of the on/off button on the handle where you grab it WHILE you are using it. Yes, it does heat up quickly, but I can’t stand having to click the “on” button several times to start it back up while I’m in the process of curling my hair. Also, take note that this is a rather fat barrel. I do know how to put curls in my hair with a flat iron and with a curling wand – but with this you mostly get looser curls depending on how much hair you put between the heating plates. It’s probably best (in my opinion) for those with long hair – mine is long but it is fine and I still found it harder to use than a regular curling wand or flat iron for curls. It’s a little noisy, but I was willing to overlook that as long as I could get decent curls – but I couldn’t get the curls right – AND, as I said, the final straw was the on/off button turning off too easily while in use. Otherwise, I might have stuck it out and worked with it a little more. So, I am returning this. It’s just not for me.

Did not work well for me
Was very hard to use to get hair in the narrow space that it opens. I watched videos how to do. Gave my hair no curl and made it look frizzy and straight. The fan kept going off also. Cumbersome to use. I was hoping to get used to it and tried 3 x. Had to resort to my old curling iron to get any curl or volume in my bangs. My hair is fine and almost down to my shoulders. Maybe will be better for long hair like all the videos Sent it back. Go back to my old fashioned curling iron. All the cool type irons have bigger diameter 1 1/2 “ and the flat plates. So did not work for me.

Pros and Cond
I have mixed feelings about this product. Pros: hair glides through it nicely, better than other flat irons that let your hair slip out; works great to smooth out hair; leaves my hair shiny. Cons: I wish it opened wider; I wish it was 1 inch longer; I cannot get it to shut off as instructed, so I have to unplug it after each use; curl/wave doesn’t last more than a day. Maybe that’s because of my color-treated hair(?).

Difficult to Use and Quit Heating!
I had high hopes for this curling iron. A friend purchased it and like me has thin, fine hair (she purchaed from a retail store). She loved it and her hair looked great. I purchased one as well through Amazon, thinking that the cooling air would definitely be a benefit to the heat of the iron. That part is great…the cooling part sets the curl and the results are really nice. The tough part of using the iron is that, unlike other curling irons or even flat irons, the plates are spaced just far enough apart that it won’t hold the hair in place, my hair slips through and without grabbing hold of the tips of the plates and holding them together, it won’t work. Thick hair might not be a problem, but fine hair slips out without being a contortionist to hold it in the iron. That being said, I was going to make it work…holding my hair between the blades. However, the iron just quit heating up…plug it in, turn it on, lights blink for a couple of seconds and nothing. I have to add here that over the course of owning the iron since mid June, it had not been turned on or used more than 10 times. By the time I realized it was not a good product, I was past the return date to Amazon. ALSO, I called my friend to see if she had problems with hers and she had the exact same problems but she was able to return hers to the retailer she purchased it from. This curling iron had the potential to be great if the glitches are fixed!

Not a replacement hair dryer
I love this tool. I purchased this and received one that someone already opened and used. I was able to exchange it. The one that was delivered today was definitely a new, never used tool. I can’t say if it was the fault of the company or Amazon, but either way, problem is solved. On to the tool. This is the easiest and quickest way to create such beautiful curls. I had a tyme iron and loved it, but I had a hard time learning the tool. This tool is replacing a straightener Ive had for 20 years and the tyme iron that I learned to use, but isn’t the easiest for being left handed. The airflow isn’t to dry the hair. I was confused by other reviews that said it sucked as a hair dryer. The fan is to cool the curl on dry hair, not to curl with wet hair. There areamy other wet to styled hair tools out there, this is not one of them. I highly recommend using a heat protectant on your hair, regardless of what hot tool you use. I love this iron. I love that the outside stays cool. I didn’t read the directions, and was able get pretty curls right away, no learning curve.

Not for everyone, but I’d buy again
Just barely got this so I can’t say how long it will last. I agree with previous reviews, the barrel should open more, and I don’t like how it opens. So why 5 stars? Because my hair doesn’t curl. I have fine hair (a good amount of it) a few inches below the shoulder length hair. It damages easily, breaks easily, and curl is always gone within an hour. It is so bad, I could tell horrible stories about my wedding and other formal events. Even professionals can’t curl my pin straight hair. People wonder what hair straightener I use, but that is it’s natural state. No volume, no body, just pin straight.This does the trick for me and uses less heat then other products. Others have said it can be a bit awkward to use, but if you know how to curl with a flat iron, I think it’s easier than that. The fan was also quieter than I thought it would be. But I thought it would be loud because of other reviews. I could easily use this while my kids are sleeping. I would also say it’s not going to take your hair from wet to dry. The fan simply sets your curl. I am amazed at the quality of the curl. I have also struggled to get the ends of my hair without a kink when I curl, but none with this! I will completely buy it again if it lasts a year.

Great Curls – Takes some practice!
I’ve had this curling iron, in black, for a little over two years now. I love this thing. I have semi curly hair that tends towards frizzy on the ends. My hair responds really well to heat, but it will not stay curly when I use a regular curing iron, it doesn’t matter what the barrel size is. This one, when I use the correct amount of hair in the iron, will give me curls for days.Some tips for use for those that might be struggling: if you don’t feel like your hair is getting enough heat or if you can’t get the section of hair you want in the iron, USE A SMALLER SECTION OF HAIR. This might result in smaller curls than you want, so be aware that the perfect curl for you might take some practice. You can also pinch the top of the iron together while sliding it through your hair with the other hand to force more contact with your hair. This is what I do. Also, reinforce the curl right after it comes out of the iron by twisting it in the direction it was curled. Let your hair cool completely before brushing. I usually just run fingers through the curls. I don’t brush it unless I want to loosen the curls.My old iron seems to be losing heat lately, so I have decided to buy both the black and the white versions. I am a little worried about handling the end of the white iron as I do the black one (pinching it to keep it tight on the hair). I will update this review after I’ve had a chance to play with it. I will also add photos of before and after when I update it.

The only thing that curls my hair!!!☆☆☆☆☆ I have a very voluminous head of very fine, naturally curly hair. When I flat iron my hair I can get some curls to stay using the “curling ribbon” technique with the flat iron. But when those curls are gone in 2 days I have not been able to find a way to re-curl my hair and get it to stay more than 20 minutes, until I found this! Agree with others that this innovative styler (albeit yes awkward to get used to with the narrow opening) completely WORKS because of the cooling fan coupled with the design and high heat! It’s kind of revolutionary. I have had it 2.5 years and I have zero complaints. Although I think I may buy another one just as a backup. I shouldn’t worry though – Conair is a good brand. My $10 curling iron from 1994 still works great! Buy this! You won’t regret it! (As a heads up it does make a fan noise while on. It’s not crazy loud, but a person in the next room can hear it. Just on the off chance you curl your hair while someone else is usually asleep.)
