    Heats up fast & I appreciate the auto shut-off

    I have been using this titanium hair straightener for a bit now and overall I am very happy with it, with one small caveat.The first thing that stood out to me was how fast it heats up. It is ready to use in about ten seconds, which is perfect for busy mornings. The LCD screen makes it very easy to see and adjust the temperature, and the controls feel intuitive and well laid out.In terms of performance, the plates glide smoothly through my hair without pulling, and it does a great job smoothing and styling in one pass. I also really appreciate how polished and attractive it looks sitting on my bathroom counter. The fit and finish feel high end, and it definitely looks like a professional styling tool.One reason I removed one star is that while the iron claims to reach very high temperatures, I do not have a way to accurately test this and it does not feel as hot as the highest setting suggests. That said, it still styles effectively and I have not had any issues achieving smooth results.A feature that is especially important to me is the 60 minute automatic shutoff. I tested this intentionally, and the unit did power down as advertised. That added peace of mind is a big plus, especially for anyone who worries about forgetting to turn off styling tools.

    Great straightener but not for super thick hair

    Very nice straightener with a couple flaws. Let’s start with the good: it straightens my hair perfectly and it smoothes it really well. It heats up fast so no long wait times. It has an auto shut off which I’ve tested and seems to work well, but I just continue to unplug it for safety reasons. It feels durable and not cheap and it does what I need it to.But here’s my issue: it doesn’t get hot enough to straighten my daughter thick hair. She has so much hair with lots of wave so she needs a straightener than can go above 300 degrees in order to effectively straighten her hair. I’ve tried this on her hair and I have to go over the same spot so many times to get it to straighten, that seems like I’m doing more damage than just making a single pass at a higher temp. If you have thick or curly hair, this probably isn’t the tool for you. If you have hair like mine, thick but already mostly straight (I usually straighten just to get rid of a little bit of wave, some weird hair patterns and smooth the many flyaways) then this straightener will work great for you. As long as you go into it knowing that, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

    Heats Up Fast but Plates Feel Narrow

    I bought this flat iron to replace an older one that stopped heating evenly. The first thing I noticed was how quickly it heats up. Within a short time it was ready to use, which is convenient on busy mornings when I’m getting ready for the day.I’ve used it a few times before heading out, mostly for smoothing out the front sections of my hair. It glides fairly well and the temperature settings are easy to adjust.The only thing I noticed is the plates feel a bit narrow, so it takes a few more passes to straighten larger sections of hair. It still works fine for everyday styling, just takes a little more time than I expected.

    Read This First: It’s Stuck in Celsius, Not Broken

    I almost didn’t buy this flat iron because several reviews said it wouldn’t heat past 260°, but that turned out to be a misunderstanding. It ships preset to Celsius. If you want Fahrenheit, you have to hold the power button down while plugging it in and it will switch over. Once I did that, the temperature went well past 500° and I actually had to turn it down because it was much hotter than I expected.One interesting thing I noticed: when it was set to Celsius, it didn’t feel nearly as hot. After switching to Fahrenheit, the heat felt much stronger and more effective.So far, I’m really liking it. The infrared light feature is a nice touch, it straightens my hair easily, and I can flip the ends without fighting it. It heats quickly and feels consistent once you get the settings right.I’ll keep using it and will update my review if anything changes, but I mainly wanted to share the Celsius/Fahrenheit tip since it seems like some of the lower ratings may have come from missing that step.
