Very nice heat protector
This is a good product. It really is nice.Easy to spray on towel dried hair before blow drying or ironing.Has a slight but pleasant scent.Not drying to my processed hair. It does have alcohol in it as others noted but my hair specialty product by Jack Winn heat protector also has it. So that is not a worry just a necessary ingredient.It did not weigh my hair down at all.Nice shine.I deducted a point. Because there are no instructions on the bottle or indicators on label of its intended use or uses. The label has information behind it but no instructions or useful info. I do get annoyed when I have to go to ad to find out just basic info on product. Definitely not a gift item to put in basket for a college student or such. They did a good job of showing in ad all the good ingredients. But only one small sentence saying to spray on towel dried hair. And another spot indicates heat protector. Since most products called cuticle fillers are for nail care I think they should give more useful information on this bottle. They also run the risk of losing repeat or new buyers if the consumers are not researching and using it correctly. It should simply be on the bottle or box.

I bought this product based on the fact that it was recommended in a New York Times Wirecutter article., and I’m so happy i did. My baby-fine hair tends to frizz and have multiple fly-aways and get very static-y. This product has helped greatly with all those issues. I will definitely be buying it again.

SECOND INGREDIENT AFTER WATER IS ALCOHOL….
While I love the fact it is free from sulfates, dyes, micro plastics, mineral oils and parabens, the fact that alcohol is the second ingredient means it will be drying. So if you have dry hair to begin with, I wouldn’t recommend this for you. This product also contains silicone. The ingredients aren’t listed on the product page so I didn’t know these things prior to ordering (I have attached a photo of the product ingredients to this review for your viewing pleasure).Overall, it has a pleasant fragrance (though could be overwhelming to some), did make my hair smoother and can only assume it protected from the heat, but the alcohol did cause drying. If you are Ok with using a heat protectant product with alcohol and silicone, this product will be for you (do know it states protectant is heat activated). Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend daily use of heat protectants that contain alcohol and silicones.

Hair cuticle filler improves shine, volume, and texture but contains fragrance
Having never tried a cuticle filler, I didn’t know what to expect. I spritzed the clear liquid all over my hair after washing and towel-drying it. Then I used a hair dryer and styled my hair with a curling iron. Afterward, my hair was shiny and soft. The best features other than the shine and texture the product gave to my hair were a little greater volume and hold to the style.I checked the ingredients out using the EWG-Skin Deep website and found that the overall score was a 6, which was higher than I would like, mainly due to fragrance, with an individual rating of 8. (The lower the score, which runs from 1 to 10, the healthier the product or ingredient.) Another ingredient, Benzyl alcohol, carried a score of 6. Both components can trigger allergies, and fragrance can also be an endocrine disruptor.I am pleased with the product’s performance. The filler closes the hair cuticle, which is especially useful for chemically processed hair. It’s weightless and feels like spraying water on your hair. The scent is pleasant and fades quickly. The product’s benefits include protecting against thermal damage from blow dryers and styling devices and increasing volume and shine. The only drawback is I can’t go three days without washing my hair like I did before. (I haven’t used any other products on my hair while trying the product.)
