Confused about what it does and who it’s for?
I really like L’Anza products, but this one had me a bit puzzled. It doesn’t really specify what hair type it’s for. It also doesn’t really address what issues it solves, other than dissolving residue and cleaning your scalp. Is it for dandruff? Dry hair? I didn’t know the audience, so I initially tested this myself. I have very fine curly hair that is prone to dryness. While the oil left my scalp feeling fresh, it weighed down my baby fine hair. I also did not like the application process; the oil tends to drip after applying, and I didn’t care for the tickle-dribble sensation of oil running down my noggin. Next, I had my teenager test it out. He has very thick, very oily hair. He also did not like the drippy application process, and with his thick hair, it took him a long time to get his whole head covered using the tiny eye dropper applicator. He used it as directed, but it left his hair oilier than when he started. He too liked the fresh scalp feeling, but it’s not something he would ever use again (nor I). I think someone with an “average” head of hair and scalp might find this useful, but in this household, we are puzzled. I still love the brand, but this product misses the mark for me.

Leaves my scalp feeling softer and less itchy
I have been using other Lanza products for years so when I saw this Scalp Therapy Pre-wash Oil available for vine reviewers I was very willing to try it out. First of all, I do wish Lanza had explained the process more of when to apply this product. I did research online and found this oil should be used on dry hair prior to washing. I have very fine hair and typically do not use any conditioner as it makes my hair very limp. I was concerned that this pre-wash oil and serum would also make my hair limp and leave it in an oily condition. I have been pleasantly surprised at the results of this product. My hair and scalp feel softer and more comfortable. It actually gave my hair more body than I was expecting. You do not need to use an excessive amount of this product. I did overuse it once causing my hair to become oily and limp afterwards. Occasionally, I find I need to rinse my hair twice after washing if I use too much of the product. My husband has also been using this product as he has a dryer scalp then I do. He too has been pleased with the results for his courser hair. He said he obviously noticed how it loosened build up on his hair after immediately applying.

Great for itchy, dry scalp
I don’t have a lot of scalp problems so I didn’t know how I’d feel about this product. The first time I tried it, I was so worried I’d come out of the shower with my hair covered in oil! Instead, it left my hair so soft and silky and there wasnt any greasy residue or darkness that makes your hair look dirty (I’m blonde and it’s clear when my hair is oily). I normally have to put another product in my hair to comb it out, usually Lanza’s trauma treatment, but I was able to comb my hair out just fine with nothing else in it. I felt the fragrance was overpowering at first, but it smells great while washing it out and after the fact. The most impressive thing I’ve noticed, my husband gets a dry patch on his scalp when he’s stressed out. He tried this product once and the itchiness went away! He’s only used it two or three times and hasn’t had any problems. Anytime he starts feeling itchy, he uses it once and is fine. Worth the money for that alone!

I recently tried the scalp therapy balancing pre-wash oil and leave-on serum, and I have to say I’m quite impressed. The pre-wash oil feels soothing when massaged into the scalp, and I noticed a difference in how my hair felt right after rinsing it out. It didn’t leave an oily residue, which was a pleasant surprise.After towel-drying, I applied the leave-on serum, and it absorbed quickly without weighing my hair down. My scalp has felt healthier, and I love how soft my hair is now. Overall, I appreciate how these products work together to keep my scalp balanced and my hair looking great. I’ll definitely be incorporating them into my routine moving forward.

Effectively nourishes hair
The package contains a generous bottle of high quality hair oil. I apply this oil regularly on my hair and scalp a few hours before shower and even overnight. The oil is light and quickly gets absorbed into hair. It leaves the hair shiny and smooth and provides good hydration too. At the same time, it is not sticky and has a mild pleasant scent. During shower it comes off quickly with shampoo. My hair feels healthy and strong after a few weeks of using this pre wash oil.

Smells good and balances scalp
I was pretty unsure about this because my hair is fine and can tend towards oily, so I wasn’t sure tha a scalp oil would work well for me. It’s actually been really nice and seems to be helping my oiliness regulate itself, which is great for me!I’ve used it a couple times, and I try to massage the oil in my scalp and leave it for a few minutes before I wash my hair. I use a silicone scalp scrubber to massage the oil in. I haven’t noticed a difference in frizz or softness in my actual hair, but I’ve noticed less buildup and less oiliness on my roots.I really want to try the leave on serum now to see what my results would be with the full line!Overall I’ve found this effective, and worth the price for the value!

I Use in Place of a Clarifying Shampoo
First up, let me just say that I am a fan of L’ANZA products. I like to use this pre-wash oil occasionally in place of a clarifying shampoo. What I find it does is remove product build-up in my hair. After using it, there is no evidence left behind that I put it into my hair – it washes clean out without making my hair greasy. You do have to let it sit on your head for 3 minutes before you get your hair wet, so I like to apply it and then do something like brush my teeth. It can be a bit tricky to apply because you have to use the dropper and then massage it into your scalp. I do find this to be at a premium price, but if replacing a clarifying shampoo and only used on occasion, you can stretch its value.
