My daughter and I both love this heatless curling rod! We already own a couple of other heatless curlers, but they’re smaller in diameter and create tighter curls. This extra-large version gives soft, loose, bouncy waves that look much more like a salon blowout. It takes a little practice to master, but that’s true of every heatless curler we’ve tried. Waist Length Hair or Above May Work Best
Caveat: My hair is VERY long, but I tried to keep normal product expectations in mind.I’m 5 foot 7 and my hair is down to about the back of my calves, and is also very thick.So, what I’m saying here is I have a lot of hair. Even products that are made for long thick hair, I don’t go in thinking I’m the target demographic for it. So, while it doesn’t work as well for me as it likely does for people with long hair a little more in the normal range and not the fairytale princess range, that’s not the product’s fault! I had another one of these from another brand that wasn’t advertised as being for long or thick hair, and it was totally unusable for me. I ended up giving it to a friend. This one, however, DID seem longer and much more substantial, so I do believe it will work well for longer thicker hair in general. The quality was good, nice silky feel, seams were well-sewn, nothing sticking out to snag your hair. I’m curious how using two of these at once would work on me. As it stands right now, I had to wear it longer than overnight for it to fully dry. Not sure if my hair was too thick for the product, or if it was because I had to wrap my hair around too many times in one spot to fit all the length of my hair, making it too dense to dry quicker. That’s why I deducted the star, because I think maybe others with low-porosity dense hair may have longer dry times too. Once it did dry, it definitely added a little volume, but I think having to wrap the hair around itself so many times due to the length of it made the circumference a bit too large to make any sort of meaningful wave or curl on me. My hair looked shiny and healthy though, no damage. I’m always looking to try new ways to do heatless styles, and I found it easy enough to sleep in. (I’m a stomach sleeper; your mileage may vary). Overall, I think if your hair is about waist length or above, this should work wonderfully for you!

Comfortable XL Heatless Curls Rod That Really Works
I didn’t know this brand, but the LitBear XL Heatless Curling Rod caught my eye because it’s designed for long, thick hair. I wanted to see how it compared to the smaller heatless sets I already own. This one is definitely built for length and density. The jumbo size gives you enough room to wrap without running out of space or stacking too many layers on top of each other.The velvet material has a good grip, so my hair stayed put while wrapping. I sectioned my hair and wrapped it around the rod, securing everything with the included scrunchies and clips. The rod is long and thick, which actually works well if you have a lot of hair. It creates those loose, blown‑out waves instead of tight coils. My hair is long and thick, so heatless styling is ideal for me. This rod handled the weight without slipping.Sleeping in it was comfortable. The foam core is soft enough that I didn’t notice it once I settled in, and it stayed in place overnight. I lightly damped my hair before using. By morning the curls were fully dry and had a nice, voluminous wave pattern. Cute heatless curl set for long hair
This is a cute little heatless curl set. I got it because the XL size seemed better for long or thick hair, and I do think the bigger rod makes a difference. It gives more of a soft wave/volume look instead of tight curls.It comes with the clips and scrunchies, which helps and comes in handy. The first time, you kind of have to figure out the best way to wrap your hair so it stays even, but it’s not hard once you get it down and get used to it. I like that I can use it without adding more heat to my hair in order to avoid damage.Sleeping in it is okay. Certainly not the most comfortable thing ever, but not terrible either. I think it depends on how tight you wrap it and how picky you are about sleeping with something in your hair.So, for heatless waves, I like it. It’s not going to look exactly like a curling iron, but that’s not really the point. It gives a softer, more effortless curl, WITHOUT the damage of a HEAT.

I’ve tried a few different heatless curling sets and I like that this one is specifically longer and larger than the standard ones. If you have long or thick hair, the extra length gives you enough room to actually wrap all of your hair around it without running out of space toward the ends.The velvet material helps my hair stay in place instead of constantly sliding off while I’m wrapping it. The included scrunchies and clips are useful for securing everything, and once I got the hang of wrapping my hair evenly it was pretty straightforward to use.I get the best results when my hair is very slightly damp rather than completely wet. By the morning, I have big, soft waves with a lot of movement instead of super tight curls. The results also look more natural once I separate everything with my fingers.It’s reasonably comfortable to sleep in for a heatless curler, although I can still feel it when I’m sleeping on my side. I wouldn’t call any large overnight curler completely unnoticeable while sleeping.For $13.99, I think you get a good amount considering it comes with the curler, scrunchies, clips and a storage pouch. I especially like being able to get a styled look without repeatedly putting heat on my hair. The larger size is really what makes this one work for me since I have enough room to wrap my hair properly.

I am either blessed or cursed, depending on how you look at it, with pin straight hair. There are definitely times when I would love soft, natural looking curls, but I’m not someone who wants to spend an hour styling my hair every morning. Most days are busy, and my usual routine consists of brushing my hair and throwing it into a clip or ponytail before heading out the door.I had previously tried another heatless curling product that used a flat fabric wrap. While it worked reasonably well, I found that because it had no real shape, my curls came out with different levels of tightness, which made the finished look a little uneven. When I found this curling rod, I thought the rounded shape would help create more consistent curls.Setting it up was very straightforward. I was able to wrap my hair while relaxing and watching a movie with my husband, and the instructions were simple and easy to follow. The curling rod is a little more noticeable to sleep in than the flat fabric style, but after getting settled, I was still able to sleep comfortably.The next morning, removing everything was quick and easy, and I was happy to see that it had created curls throughout my hair.
