    Much Better Than Their Cream Styler!

    I tried their other styler first because they have a fragrance-free version and I’m very sensitive to fragrance. But, probably because of glycerin being so high in the ingredients, with Ned or high humidity and dew points, my hair puffs out and loses definition– frizz city. But with this gel, used by itself, I great definition and it holds up nicely even in these Mid Atlantic muggy summer days! Yes my curls will get a bit more puffy throughout the day if I’m outside a lot, but much less than with the other product. I am getting decent 2nd day hair with this and I bet in the winter, I’ll easily get good 3rd day curls. I have fine, thinning, 3b/c long hair, very frizz prone. This gel feels heavy, yet I’m able to build lift at the roots with it so my hair doesn’t look flat on top. I air dry. Also, this doesn’t flake on me, which, after fragrance, and frizz, is the next most common reason I won’t repurchase a styling product. I do notice my hair feels more tangly than usual when I co-wash, maybe because the hold is more than I’m used to.My only complaint with this gel is the FRAGRANCE! The company says despite their using synthetic fragrance, it’s hypoallergenic, passed safety tests, but that doesn’t matter–synthetic fragrance is a known toxin and shouldn’t be allowed in any products. I really hope this company will remove the synthetic fragrance component, or better yet, make a completely fragrance free version. I don’t even like the scent and I’m shocked that some people love it. It fades over the course of the day thankfully.

    Soft hold

    The bombardment of Instagram ads had me questioning the hype, but I’m glad I gave this a try. For anyone searching like me out there- I have mid-long 2b/2c hair where ringlets form toward the bottom. I was one of those people who couldn’t understand why my straight-ish hair was just so puffy, dry at the ends, and overall difficult to manage even with great products, until at 35 I finally realized my hair is curly! So my challenge is balancing hold and softness- I can get some great ringlets to form closer to my roots with strong hold gel, but they don’t tend to stay as soft throughout the day and get that “product” feel because my hair is so fine. And it’s just too many steps (wetting, clumping, plopping, scrunching, hours to air dry) for it to be so easy for my curls to stretch or frizz out (hello 2b, a few min outside on a windy day is sometimes all it takes). Some days I don’t want to try so hard to help my curls form and I was looking for a way to simplify. Using this gel after the all-in-one styler is becoming my go-to. It does not maximize my curls, but it allows me to style with more basic brushing techniques and without starting from sopping wet, and it still gives me defined and soft curl without weighing down the ringlets that do want to form. The frizz protection is pretty good with the all-in-one as a great moisturizing base and the gel forms a decent cast. What frizz does come over time is easily “calmed” with a little water. After months of products, tactics, and time looking to embrace my curl, I was starting to think maybe straightening again isn’t so bad. But this product combination has really simplified things and gives me soft, shiny, and almost weightless curls I can be confident about. It’s not 100% perfect for me, but I’m giving this 5 stars because it does exactly what it promised.

    Holds well

    I’m still trying to find a balance in the amount to put in my hair(reference the instructions) but so far it’s very nice, not stiff unless you put way too much in. It definitely helps with the frizz. I use the shampoo/conditioner and cream as well and the combination of all four products is wonderful. I’ve struggled so much over the years to find a product that will make my curls look great and this is it!

    Nice product

    I have fine, low density 2C curls and it doesn’t weigh them down. I like that it has only a subtle scent and the slip is quite good, which can be hard to find. I would say it’s not a firm hold gel – maybe encourages clumping a bit though and protects the curl shape. It’s soft, not sticky and doesn’t flake. I don’t find it helps with shielding humidity unfortunately. Overall it’s a nice light styling gel, but not the amazing find I was hoping for – that’s still eluding me.

    Good product

    I use this product along with a leave in conditioner and they tame the frizz while holding curls in place. I have tried many other products and this does not weigh hair down but leaves it shiny, soft and clean feeling while still giving some hold. Worth the price.

    Amazing

    I have ALOPECIA and my natural hair is growing back, I have tried several products to get my curls to Pop. RIght in the top of my head my hair grew back straight and it takes a lot of product to make it curl. Well This Amazing product has Given me life. The Curls are there and popping, USING very little product to getvthe curls to pop. Love this product. Have been using for three days and I’m in Love . Will purchase more .. the smell is Very Soft, a little on the expensive end, but worth every dime, not sticky, holds all day. And it doesn’t make my curls crunchy.

    Great product

    I love this product and usually buy it from Love Ur Curls directly but saw it on Amazon and added it to an order. The product makes nice curls without giving that wet clumpy curls look. A little fluff after and you have soft bouncy curls.

    Fantastic but doesn’t last

    I am an aging white lady with 3a curls. This stuff is incredible. You style it (I section and then pinch-twirl), let your hair dry into a crunch, then clap out that crunch cast. The result is incredible with NO frizz halo and NO flat roots and NO greys sticking out above your otherwise well shaped ringlets. So why only 3 stars? Because the texture doesn’t last. Within about 3 hours it starts to frizz. If you have one short event to attend, maybe use it. But it doesn’t last the day. That’s just me. YMMV.

    Finally found my hair products

    Great product for curly hair!

    Love this product for my hair! I normally blow dry my hair straight for work, during the summer months and or vacation not so much! Add this gel to my hair scrunch it and boom I have curls. Little crunchy at first but after drying, fluff them up and sticky and crunchy is gone. It works for me.

    Best gel for fine hair & 3a/3b ringlets

    This is my favorite styling gel, and I have tried many! I have fine hair and 3a/3b ringlets. Because my hair is fine, it feels “producty” with most other gels. This gel is perfect for fine hair. When I break the gel cast my ringlets are soft and perfect. They don’t feel like there’s a bunch of product in them. The hold is excellent. My curls look beautiful all day and they don’t get frizzy at all. This gel also gives me great second day curls. Maybe this isn’t for people with thick hair strands, but if you have fine hair and ringlets I highly recommend this gel.

    BEST GEL – EVER (3A/2C + 50% colored gray hair, super affected by humidity)

    My photo is day-3 hair at 1 am after dancing up a mega sweat for four hours. Not kidding.My hair is extremely sensitive to humidity. I have spent hundreds, if not into the thousands, on anti-frizz products for 30+ years. And this IS the holy grail product for me. On normal days, I use about a nickel to maybe a quarter size after some leave-in conditioner. On dance nights I use 5-6X that amount. Yup, I pile it on. And though it’s a bit crunchy at first, it literally softens as I sweat, yet keeps definition the whole time. Tomorrow I will pat on some leave-in conditioner, concentrating more on the ends, and it will be fully soft and defined again.The trick with this product (for my difficult hair) is not being afraid to use more on days when there will be intense humidity, activity, or both. It does NOT damage my hair at all. Feels amazing. It really is the anti-gel, gel.Final note; I am 53 and color a lot of grays monthly, about 50%. Curly hair going gray (at least, mine) is way more difficult than when my curls still had pigment. The grays are tougher, more wiry, and the slightest moisture sets off crazy frizz in seconds. This gel is THE only product that has worked for my aging, graying, color-dyed curly hair.LUS, thank you so much!

    A great product! I use the whole line of LUS brands. I use the shampoo, conditioner, styler and the sea moss gel. It never leaves my hair hard and crunchy and gives a ton of volume!
