I only paid a little over $13 for this so I was expecting something cheap. I’m blown away by the quality! Not cheap at all. Works great. I didn’t even have to section my hair and I have very thick hair. Used setting of 340 and that worked great on thick, coarse hair. Amazing price!

Did not warm up enough to straighten my coarse hair. As I ran brush down my hair, more of my hair was entangled in the brush.

Extremely Efficient
Wow, this thing gets hot fast. Faster than any other tool I own. Since it doesn’t press the hair from both sides, I was worried it might give frizzy or inconsistent results. It is a little less precise than a standard iron, but gives a natural look in a short amount of time. I have very thick hair, so I did section it to straighten. Even so, this product gave pretty smooth and straight reulsts in a fraction of the time of other products (like my pricey hair drying brush from a big yellow name brand). It took less than 10 minutes to do my whole head. I think this tool is best used on hair that is already detangeld and brushed through. The tines of the “brush” aren’t long enough to handle thick hair, or small and tapered enough to detangle. But it does a good job of straightening on the fly. It’s super easy to use – it has only two functions (temp, and on/of). The dial at the base of the handle is counter-intuitive: it looks like you should turn it counter-clockwise, when you shoud actually turn in clockwise. No big deal, I obviously figured it out. Everyone in my household has tried it out, and we all agree it’s a winner. It comes with a heat-protectant glove, but it’s not really needed. The tip and back of the tool stay cool during use (this is huge). The hottest element of the whole process will be your own hair. I know there are others with more bells and whistles. But for the price, this is an outstanding product.

It takes some work but it does work
I got this so that my girls could straighten their hair after having it up in ponytails. I tried it on my daughter who has thick hair and it took some time to figure out what setting her hair would respond to, because we started at the lowest setting. Once we got to the right setting it did work but it took several swipes to get it straight. I know that if I used my flat iron it would have been done in a shorter amount of time.I think this is a great product though if you have younger girls who are wanting to start their hair journey but you don’t quite trust them with full hair straighteners. After we were done with the experiment my daughter did play with it later on and she was able to use it to give the ends of her hair a slight curl.For the price I think it’s a great starter piece. I would probably get this again for my daughters if it broke because it’s in a good price range and it still does the job. I did give it a four star rating though because I don’t think that people who are more adept at doing their hair will like it. However if you’re a beginner it’s great!
