Great for cleaning up buildings up from extensions
I wear tape in extensions and tend to get some buildup near my scalp. The shampoo really helped clear away some of that buildup. However, I wasn’t a huge fan of the way it smells. It doesn’t smell bad. It’s just not my favorite scent? It really helped my hair, feel less weighed down, and gave it a lightweight bouncy feel. I have some really expensive hair products and this is a good contender at a considerably lower price. A little goes a long way so I have a feeling this stuff will last a long time. I had no issues with the bottle leaking and the pump gives just enough for your roots, if you have a lot of hair, you may need several pumps as it’s not a lot. Overall, I’m very happy with the effectiveness and it’s brought life back to my hair.

I typically use a salon brand shampoo that costs me triple the amount of this shampoo but doesn’t clean my hair as well as this shampoo does. The first time I used it I noticed a huge difference in how clean my hair was. There was more volume and my hair was very soft. I don’t think I have ever used a shampoo that made my hair feel as clean as this one does without stripping my hair of moisture. It lathers nicely and I don’t have to use too much. I am very impressed with this shampoo and I will be purchasing it again.

This detox shampoo feels truly high-end and luxurious, totally different from any other clarifying shampoo I’ve used. Right away, you can tell it’s something special. When you pump it out, it has a muted gray color from the activated charcoal, which is meant to help absorb oils and buildup. It also smells amazing, a warm, rich, comforting scent that fills the shower. It’s not that typical sharp “clean” or clinical smell you get with most detox shampoos. It lathers beautifully into a thick, rich foam, and honestly one pump is enough for my mid-length hair. This shampoo cleans very thoroughly and definitely gives that “clarifying” feeling without making my hair feel completely stripped. My hair is very fine and straight, so heavy shampoos can weigh it down fast, but this left it feeling lighter and cleaner at the roots. The charcoal/apple cider vinegar combination gives it a fresh salon-type scent rather than smelling medicinal. I wouldn’t personally use it every single wash because clarifying shampoos can be drying over time, but it works really well when my hair feels weighed down from buildup or products. I’ve been using it to fade semi-permanent color and it’s doing a great job at that without making my hair really dry.

A Proper Shampoo for Real Hair Extensions and Wigs
It seems like some people are confused about what this product actually is. This is not a regular everyday shampoo. It is specifically formulated for natural hair extensions and wigs.Luxy is a high-end hair extensions brand, and their pricing definitely reflects that. I own several accessories from this company, and they consistently feel luxurious and well made. The quality has always been there.I did not previously need a dedicated extension shampoo, but recently I added a few real human hair wigs and extensions to my collection. Some of them arrived with a lingering chemical scent from processing, so this shampoo was exactly what I needed.Ingredient-wise, it is decent. I ran it through the Yuka app, and it scored 43 out of 100. The lower rating is primarily due to phenoxyethanol, which is a very common preservative used today as an alternative to parabens. From what I have seen, when brands avoid this preservative, they sometimes replace it with options that are restricted or banned in the EU, which is much worse.In any case, I am not using this shampoo on my own scalp, so I am comfortable with it for washing extensions and wigs.Performance-wise, it feels like a high-quality formula. It does a great job removing buildup and refreshing the hair without making it feel stripped. My bottle arrived without any leakage, which I appreciate.The only downside for me is the added fragrance. Because this is more of a mainstream formulation rather than a natural one, the scent is stronger than I personally prefer. Great find for removing buildup from wigs, extensions, and natural hair. Doesn’t strip hair at all.
I’ve used this on extensions, wigs, and my own bio hair at this point, and it’s an all around champion clarifying and volumizing shampoo. Effectively threading the needle between cleansing without stripping, moisture without heaviness…this shampoo is a great find. It has a mild, clean fragrance and a little goes a long way. Just a few pumps in a basin is enough for extensions. It left my thin, fine hair feeling clean and refreshed without also making it so dry that I had to load it up with oil to compensate. That’s a win for volume and helping me go longer between shampoos. Very effective for stripping product build up without stripping the hair.

I am super impressed with the performance of this clarifying shampoo. I have very fine hair, and it is hard for me to find a clarifying shampoo that does not make my hair staticky and flat. I think this shampoo nourishes my hair as well as clarifying it. My hair feels full and static free after using this. It even feels like I have a bit more hair. It cleanses completely and rinses easily and thoroughly.I really like the scent of this shampoo. It is a light, fresh scent that is not overwhelming like some other products I have tried. I used this shampoo a couple of times in the past week, specifically after days when I had used styling products and hairspray on my hair. Since my hair is so fine, I need to use quite a bit of hairspray. This shampoo really cut through the product buildup beautifully. It does not dry out my hair at all, and it gives it a very nice healthy-looking sheen.I really love that this product is not tested on animals and that it is vegan. I always look for these features when purchasing personal care products for myself and my family.Just a small amount of this shampoo provided luxurious and plentiful lather.
