    For This Price, It Needs to Be Better

    When it comes to shave creams, I’m picky, mainly because I’m old-school and still use a double-edge razor.That means my shave cream must not only be smooth and allow my blade to glide with little effort, but it must also be able to soothe my skin after the shave.Well, this fits the bill on one count, but not another.However, it might be better to call this a shave butter more than a cream, at least in my opinion. I base this upon the fact it doesn’t lather when applied, it coats.But then it disappears. That’s right, it just disappears. It leaves a minor coating but becomes invisible. If it wasn’t for the scent you wouldn’t know it was even there.It does a decent job of lubricating and allows my blade to slide across my face, but nothing spectacular beyond that.And then the scent disappears, too. I washed my face off after the shave and couldn’t smell much of anything.Overall, I’m neutral. For $20 this really doesn’t do any better a job than the $3 spray foam yet costs nearly 7 times as much.

    Thin Texture and Transparent

    The shaving cream leaves a film on your skin when you are done shaving which can be a good thing if you have dry skin, but it’s not good for when you shave before a laser appointment. The one thing I dislike is how thin and transparent the product is. I like a thicker texture so when I shave, the product doesn’t slip odd easily. I also like when shaving cream is visible so I know what areas I covered already. It’s a nice product, but for the price, I expect better. Also, I do have very sensitive skin and I did not react to this product. Oh and the dispenser is amazing and I wish more of my products had that this type of dispenser.

    Outstanding product!

    Great product. It goes on thin, which is great since you don’t have all of the build up from regular lather. I find I don’t even need aftershave. I use a Merkur safety razor with feather blades.

    A Good Shave Cream Hindered by a Poor Tube Design

    My experience with this shaving cream was a bit of a rollercoaster, but it ended on a high note regarding the actual shave quality.First, it’s important to know that this is a non-lathering cream. You apply a thin, even layer to your skin, and it creates a very slick surface for the razor to glide over. Using it with my double-edge safety razor, I was able to get a reasonably close and smooth shave without any irritation. My skin felt refreshed and moisturized afterward, which was a definite plus.However, I had some significant issues with the packaging. My first time trying to use it, the cream that came out was dry, stiff, and sticky. It was impossible to shave with, and I almost threw the tube away. I’m glad I gave it a second chance because it turned out the faulty cap design had let the initial portion of the product dry out.The cap is the main problem. Even when closed tightly, it leaks if you store it cap-down in a cabinet. After every use, a bit of cream is left on the outside of the cap, requiring a wipe-down to avoid a mess. For a premium product, this consistent waste and inconvenience is a notable flaw.Overall, the cream itself performs very well, but the frustrating design of the tube and cap keeps it from being a perfect product.

    Malin + Goetz Chamomile Scented Shave Cream is held in a tube container making it easy to pack and take with you on the go without fear of making a mess. The order includes one tube that holds 5 ounces of white colored cream. You just need to twist the base of the bottle to open it and squeeze to distribute the amount that you need. A little product goes a long way and can provide an even coverage. When I first applied it to my skin, I expected the product to create a full and foamy lather like the pictures on Amazon but I was never able to accomplish this. I was able to get a close shave easily when using this shaving cream. It rinsed off effortlessly leaving no residue feeling behind but the medicinal menthol scent clung to my skin when I was towel dry. The manufacturer stated that the cream is formulated with amino acids + glycerine to create a moisturizing shield on the skin. It is made with skin friendly ingredients including water, glycerine, squalane, olive oil, and shea butter extract amongst other ingredients. Interestingly, the product only includes 0.1% Chamomile Oil which isn’t very much. The surprising ingredient is menthol. I found that the fragrance of the cream is medicinal from the blend of chamomile and menthol. Because of the inclusion of menthol, it left a cooling feeling on my skin once I had finished shaving. It is Made in the USA of globally sourced ingredients. Overall, it is a fine product that performed as advertised but because of the fragrance that I was not a fan of, I won’t be adding it again to my Amazon cart.

    Took me a few tries, but here’s the real deal

    Okay… so I didn’t want to rush this review. I used this shaving cream a few times over the past couple of weeks just to really see what it’s like. And honestly? It’s… not perfect, but pretty good.First off, it doesn’t foam. Not even a little. At first, I thought I was doing something wrong. I like seeing that white cloud of cream while I shave, so this felt weird. But after a couple of uses, I realized it’s actually kind of nice. It spreads easily, almost like a light lotion, and my razor glides over it without tugging. My skin felt soft afterward, no burning, no dryness. So that’s a big win.The scent is subtle, kind of herbal, clean. Not too strong, not menthol-y like some creams I’ve tried. I actually liked it; it felt calming in the morning, which was a little bonus I didn’t expect.Now… the dispenser. Ugh. Took me a few tries to get it right. Twist, click, squeeze… at first I was fumbling a bit, and yeah, if you don’t close it properly, a bit of cream stays on the tip. Not a huge deal, but just something to note.A little goes a long way, which is nice. Price is on the higher side, sure, but you can tell it’s a quality product. Would I buy it again? Probably, yeah. If you want something that’s smooth, easy on the skin, and doesn’t irritate, it’s worth a shot. Just don’t expect it to foam like the old-school shaving creams… you’ll need to adjust a bit.Honestly… I’m glad I waited a few weeks to really try it before writing this. Definitely one of the smoother creams I’ve used recently.

    Love how good it smells

    First of all I need to say that this cream smells sooo good, I really enjoyed the aromatherapy experience of using this shave cream. I think the name may be not well descriptive of the product since I thought it was gonna have the consistency of a shaving foam but this is a gel cream, easy to lather and apply, you may not want the are you’re gonna shave overly wet so using a water spray bottle to apply to the desired area may be the best way to handle that, after that you can follow the other instructions easily. My skin felt soft after shaving using this cream which I think is the main goal and I didn’t experience any irritation or secondary effects. The only downside I can mention is that the price is definetely not that affordable compared to other shaving creams in the market.
