    Good touch up for natural looking redheads

    I’ve been looking for a way to try and maintain my chemical dyed red hair. I usually use Loreal Preference or something like that and in 2 weeks, the red is gone and I’m a dirty blonde. I was looking for a healthier way to kick up the red color in between dyes. In a youtube video I watched from Lisa Freemont, she suggested Manic Panic “Flaming” to kick up the red in between dying to maintain red hair.Be warned, if you’re using “Flaming” to kick up red tones, initially, Manic Panic “Flaming” is NOT a natural looking red, (I was aware of this before purchasing) but in a couple of days on brunettes or redheads, it fades to a beautiful natural-looking orange-copper-red.I mixed probably half and half proportions of Manic Panic “Flaming” and my regular Redken conditioner and left it on my hair in a shower cap for about 15 minutes and it was quite red on the parts that were blondish beforehand. It looked immediately gorgeous on my brown hair, but took a few days to look gorgeous on my blonde hair. Overall, my hair was dirty blondish brown with punk rock red streaks through it! It did not look good for a few days, which I was expecting, but when it did start to fade it DID fade to a really pretty “normal” looking natural red-copper color. And with no chemical ammonia damage! This made me very happy.Manic panic reds would probably work GREAT for darker red-heads or for brunettes who want red highlights. However, if you have any bleached, blonde, or light browns in your hair, it will really pick up the color and be very red, maybe more red than you’re comfortable with until washing it fades the intensity and the unnatural punk rock red tones just a tad.I would recommend this method to try and maintain red hair, but I want to keep experimenting with it to find a way that doesn’t leave me with fire engine red for a few awkward days. I am thinking of dying my hair with the Manic Panic on a weekend and by the time Monday rolls around, I will have normal natural-looking red hues again after a few washes. Recently I bought some 100% natural Henna powder which I intend to try relatively soon. I am hoping this will be an even healthier option for mousy-brown brunettes like me who want to be red! I will probably still do henna (if it works out) in combination with Manic Panic to keep my hair red depending on what color I intend to achieve.

    Beautiful color, did not work on my hair

    I’m no stranger to manic panic, my “signature” color for years was manic panic Electric Lava, which is sadly a discontinued shade. I dye my hair with permanent dye (pravana) but tried this Tigers Eye over as a gloss to combat the fading and it did absolutely nothing to my hair, neither my virgin roots nor my lengths with permanent dye took this color. Ive had this experience with other manic panic dyes in the past. This shade is a beautiful natural looking dark copper red, and it would probably work great on bleached hair. I personally will not repurchase manic panic because its pricey for a very small jar and it didn’t refresh my red at all

    A Perfect, Natural-looking red/orange!

    After a stylist bleached my hair 3 times in one day, my hair was fried and wouldn’t hold any permanent color. Even henna washed out within a week. I hated my bleached hair and desperately wanted to get back to my lovely coppery auburn and this product did exactly that for me! It’s a little more red than orange after the first application, but the way it fades is simply gorgeous and exactly what I was looking for! I’m so happy with my hair now. I bought 4 bottles because I thought I would need it for the length of my hair but actually one bottle covered it all! Guess I’ll be set for a little while yet! <3

    Tigers Eye on Dirty Blonde / Highlighted Hair

    I wanted a natural(ish) color change that would wash out/fade. My hair is a dirty blonde with grown out highlights.For longer and thicker hair, I would recommend using the suggested three bottles. I only used two and it was a stretch. You can tell it wasn’t applied evenly enough. But for my self at home dye job, I didn’t think it turned out too bad.I also suggest applying it in layers with a dye brush. I only left mine in for 30 minutes, but maybe next time I might leave it in a little longer, we will see.The Tigers Eye is an interesting color. There are hints of maroon tones along with some orange tones. And because I probably didn’t do the best job of applying it, some of my dirty blonde and highlights peak through as well.Overall I am happy with it for an at home temporary color. However, I do wish either the bottles were bigger or cheaper.

    Beautiful color!

    Exceeded my expectations! My hair was bleached very light but was uneven, definitely some light yellow, some white, and even a few very light blue/gray/green streaks from having other colors prior.I bought 2 containers of Tiger’s Eye and poured it in a mixing bowl to make it easier to apply. The consistency was very easy to work with and pour!I didn’t quite need all of the two containers but one definitely wouldn’t have been enough! If you have longer hair, you may even want to buy 3!I did NOT dilute with conditioner like I normally do with color, and I’m glad I didn’t! I left on for two hours under a shower cap, then rinsed and conditioned. My hair is so shiny and soft and beautiful! I wanted a natural color that was still really fun and covered up my uneven hair!I can’t tell you how long it lasts yet, so I’ll update this post later.

    It’s interesting that manic panic has a “natural” line! It’s a nice, warm toned brown. You could use this to maintain your color. However my reason for purchasing was to tone my hair. Green hair is the most stubborn of all! I had been using a mix of other manic panic reds/pink/oranges but I think this natural brown does a decent job for toning green hair as well.I don’t have gray hairs but I don’t think this would absorb well if you do. And I hate to add the obvious but this isn’t permanent, it’s gonna wash out eventually (or quickly depending on how you wash)
