Classic product for a modern man!
This is what a modern man should use! The packaging reminds me of an old-time store from the 1800s and really gets your attention. I’ve never used a balm like this before, so I didn’t know what to expect. Once you open the lid you instantly know this is something special and was made with quality ingredients. A little bit goes a long way and it really does help with dry skin after shaving. My wife loves the smell so you can skip the cologne. The price might seem a little high, but it will last for a long time. Treat yourself and get some!

Great natural moisturizer with a fantastic vintage scent, though a bit on the pricey side.
I’ve been using this White Sparrow tallow balm for a few months now, and it has done wonders for my skin, especially right after a shave. The vintage aftershave scent is spot-on: classy, clean, and masculine without that harsh, chemical punch of modern colognes. It deeply hydrates and has completely knocked out my usual dry patches and razor burn.Since beef tallow is naturally very rich, a little goes a long way, but it does take a few minutes to fully sink in. Expect a tiny bit of initial heaviness, but once it absorbs, your skin just feels incredibly soft and healthy. My only real gripe is the price point for a two-ounce jar, but given the clean, natural ingredients and the fact that a single jar lasts a long time, it’s a high-quality product that is absolutely worth the investment.

Excellent Tallow Balm with Clean Ingredients and a Refreshing Cooling Effect
I ordered the Men’s Tallow Balm in the Vintage Aftershave Scent by White Sparrow Farmacy. I’ve only recently started using beef tallow skincare products on a regular basis, but I am definitely hooked.One of my favorite things about this balm is how simple and clean the ingredient list is. It contains just 100 percent grass-fed beef tallow, organic olive oil, organic honey, organic beeswax, and organic essential oils. I did contact the company to ask which essential oils were used in this formula as that kind of information is important to me. They told me it was organic black spruce, patchouli, and spearmint. To me, spearmint is definitely the dominant scent that comes through but I definitely can also smell the patchouli, which I am quite fond of. I don’t really know what black spruce smells like, so I can’t say whether I specifically detect that ingredient or not. Overall, the scent combination is refreshing without being overpowering. It lingers for quite a while after application too.In terms of performance, this balm delivers excellent long-lasting moisture. I have certain areas that tend to get especially dry, mainly my elbows and feet, and that’s primarily where I’ve been using it. So far it has worked very well to keep those areas smooth and hydrated. You don’t need much product at all. The balm has a really nice creamy texture, spreads easily, and a small amount covers a large area of skin quite well. The spearmint also gives a noticeable cooling sensation, which I personally appreciate because I deal with some neuropathy in my feet. The cooling effect acts like a pain distractor for me. Certainly that is not the intended purpose of the balm, but it has definitely been a nice added bonus for me. Plus, it also makes my feet smell really good. I can absolutely see how this same cooling effect would feel great when used on the face as an aftershave product.The 2 ounce jar is a nice size. It’s compact, easy to toss in a bag for travel, and since you don’t need much at a time, it should last quite a while. I also think it would make a nice gift. The price is high but feels reasonable for the quality and for coming from a small company that makes their products in small batches with care.One thing to point out is that essential oils are great natural ingredients for humans but spearmint, patchouli, and black spruce essential oils can be problematic for cats if inhaled or ingested. If you have cats, I would personally recommend only using this on covered areas of the body where they can’t lick it off or have too much exposure to it. I make sure to wash my hands thoroughly after applying it and keep clothing over the areas where I’ve used it so it doesn’t transfer onto my cats’ fur where they might groom it off.Overall though, I’m really impressed with this balm and very pleased with how moisturizing and pleasant it is to use. I’d actually be very interested in trying the unscented version in the future since that would probably be an even better fit for my multi-cat household. My only recommendation would be that this company would list all essential oils in their ingredient list for full transparency as this information is important to some people.Note: I want to add that the folks at this company were very helpful in answering my questions and were even kind enough to point me in the direction of another one of their products that is unscented. I really appreciate that kind of customer service.

Husbands favorite balm
Finding a skincare product my husband will actually use daily is usually a challenge, but this tallow balm has become an absolute staple in his routine. If you are looking for a natural alternative to men’s skincare products, look no further. My husband uses this as a post shave moisturizer. He says his face feels incredibly soft and hydrated throughout the day, without feeling like he has cream on his face. He does not like most beef tallow products I have had him try. He complained that they have a distinct animal smell that he can’t stand. This one is a complete exception. He loves the scent. The Vintage Aftershave scent is woodsy, masculine, clean and nostalgic according to him, and I would agree. It manages to mask the natural scent of the tallow perfectly, making it a welcome addition to his routine. My husband also noted that it works as a natural sunscreen, that’s a plus since he doesn’t like to wear sunscreen. The price is a little on the higher side, however, a little goes a long way. According to my husband, the quality of the ingredients, including the smell and the way it makes his skin feel makes it well worth the price. If you want a clean, effective, and great smelling moisturizer that can handle the toughest skin, this is the one to get. I’m just happy I finally found something he loves and will actually use. The funny thing is, he walked up to me and said ” you gotta feel my skin, its so soft, this is really good stuff you got me.” That pretty much sums it up.

Very moisturizing, Fabulous quality
Very nice and so moisturizing! Great quality ingredients in this tallow. This is more of a whipped tallow or a “butter” than a balm but I appreciate it just the same. I have only tried one other and it is more of a balm and I like both. This product spreads easily and soaks in wonderfully. I have extremely dry skin and it does a good job of giving me the moisture my skin needs and the healthy glow I desire while only using a small amount for each area I am applying it to. The packaging is beautiful and I love that it comes from a family business that puts their heart into their products with small batches. The only thing I wish I could change is for it to be less scented. The smell is intense. It does smell exactly as the scent indicates, Vintage Aftershave, therefore it reminds me of the times my amazing Grandfather would come out of the bathroom freshly shaven! If I could change one thing it would be for the scent to be less intense or maybe an unscented version. Overall this is a beautiful and effective product. I would purchase myself and I would recommend to others. This is such a great quality product that I’m still giving 5 starts even with the intense scent!
