This was my first experience with Milk_shake products, and I can definitely see why the brand gets so many great reviews and recommendations. I’ve been really impressed with all three products in this set, and even the fragrance surprised me because I’m normally not a floral fragrance person. This one is more of a fruity-floral scent, and all three products leave my hair smelling absolutely amazing without being overwhelmingly floral.The shampoo was probably the first thing that surprised me. It’s lightweight but still actually cleansing, which I really appreciate. A lot of color-safe shampoos seem to prioritize moisture so much that they don’t give me that truly clean feeling, but this one does. It still has some moisture to it, but it leaves my scalp feeling thoroughly clean without feeling overly stripped. It also lathers really well both in my hands and on my scalp. The lather alone gives it that feeling of a high-quality salon product.The conditioner was another pleasant surprise because the consistency is completely different from what I expected. It isn’t that typical thick, lotion-like conditioner consistency. It’s thinner and slightly gel-like, almost closer to the consistency of a shampoo. I was unsure about it at first, but I actually really like it. It spreads through my hair easily, provides plenty of moisture without feeling heavy, and doesn’t leave my hair greasy or weighed down. My favorite product is definitely the Incredible Milk leave-in. This is the bonus product in the set, and it’s basically an all-in-one leave-in treatment. It claims to have 12 benefits, and it really does feel like one of those products that covers almost everything you want from a leave-in. It smooths and softens my hair, gives it some hydration, helps detangle, adds shine, provides heat and color protection, helps prolong styling, and just about anything else you would want in a leave in product. It leaves my hair feeling smoother and more manageable without making it feel coated or heavy. And it has that same amazing fragrance that keeps my hair smelling good between washes.I also really like the ingredients and overall formulation and how they arent just full of trendy ingredients. They’re effective and do exactly what they say they’re supposed to do.Overall, these feel like genuinely high-quality formulas that aren’t just gentle on colored hair, but are actually designed to help maintain, protect, and improve the look and feel of color-treated hair. My hair feels clean, soft, shiny, and nicely conditioned without being weighed down.This was my first time trying Milk_shake, but I’m definitely interested in trying more from the brand after using this set.

First off, you can rarely go wrong with anything from milk_shake. I was initially introduced to the brand by my hairdresser, and it has since become a staple in our household because the formulas consistently deliver results. This particular set includes a shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in treatment specifically designed to preserve dyed hair color while adding hydration and volume. My wife tested the set on her dry, over-processed hair, and the results were immediately noticeable after using all three steps together.These products perform exceptionally well. Despite being a completely vegan formula, the shampoo builds a rich, sudsy lather. The leave-in conditioner is pleasantly lightweight, leaving her hair feeling soft, flexible, and healthy rather than weighed down by heavy silicones or sticky residue. The only real compromise here is the scent profile and bottle sizing. We are both big fans of milk_shake’s signature vanilla fragrance, so transitioning to this floral scent was a bit of a leap. My wife was not entirely sold on the floral aroma in the bottle, but thankfully it mellows out significantly once rinsed and does not overpower you after drying.The bottles are easy to handle in the shower and pour cleanly, though they are on the smaller side for what you pay. That is my one recurring quibble with milk_shake in general–their price point is steep, and these bottles disappear quickly if you have long hair. I got this for my sister to use because she has color treated hair. I personally love Milk Shake products, but my hair isn’t color treated so I wanted to get a review from someone who has color treated hair. I did try the incredible milk leave in treatment and I loved the smell. It helped detangle my fine, but very wavy and frizz prone hair, and it left it soft but not greasy. It also helped reduce the frizz when I air dry and left my usually unruly waves/curls more hydrated and less crazy looking. Interestingly, I’m not generally someone that likes floral scents, but this one is nice.My sisters review of the full product package is below:These products smell so good! I love washing my hair in the morning because of the sweet floral smell. Such a unique feminine fragrance without being too sticky sweet. It makes me happy but is not overpowering and the fragrance lasts throughout the day. I have fine, straight hair that falls well past my shoulders. The shampoo cleaned my hair and the conditioner let me comb through my long hair easily but didn’t leave it flat. I have color treated hair and this left me with a good amount of moisture as my hair tends to be on the dry side, especially in summer. I like that the products are suitable for vegans and are made with soy proteins and moringa leaf extract but are paraben free. I will definitely also be buying the incredible milk leave in treatment again. This left my hair soft and shiny after use and helped control any static or dryness. Great product combo in this color brilliance routine box.

Smells and works great—not for thin or fine hair.
I really want to love this hair care set so much because I dye my hair a lot and need a good color protecting shampoo and conditioner, but unfortunately it doesn’t really work for my hair type. For reference: I have straight/wavy hair. Anywhere from 1B to 2A depending on the day.You get full-size products so you’re getting your money’s worth for sure. I’ve never seen a safety seal that looks like packing tape on the outside of a product before, so I was a little concerned at first, but I was pleasantly surprised to find another safety seal under the cap.The smell is great! It’s not overly strong—and this is coming from someone who is very sensitive to fragrance and often allergic—it’s very light and pleasant. It very much reminds me of the iconic cherry blossom products from Bath & Body Works but way less “in your face” with the scent. It’s kinda perfect!The packaging is informative about what’s actually in the formula and what you can expect from it. Notice that it says it’s volumizing? I have thin AND fine hair so I need all the help that I can get with volume and unfortunately this shampoo left my hair feeling heavy and greasy after a day (normally I only wash my hair every 2-3 days). That’s the only reason I’m giving this 4 stars if I’m being honest.The shampoo had a good lather and didn’t leave my hair feeling dried out after rinsing. HOWEVER: The conditioner was the true test of value for me. I can usually tell the quality of a brand by the viscosity of the conditioner: the thicker, the better. In my last photo you can see what I mean. It’s not runny, but it is thinner than I was hoping for. I like my conditioner to have the texture of cake frosting lol. I applied it to my hair about 3 inches from the root and down. I never put conditioner directly on my scalp. Waited 5 minutes. Upon rinsing, my hair immediately felt softer and my ends felt healthier.Overall I think this is a good product, just doesn’t work for my hair type. Maybe it’ll work better for me next time I bleach my roots and need a nice conditioning set to tackle the damage.

I dye my hair blonde as well as wear hand tied weft extensions. Trying to find a line of hair care products that are suitable for both can sometimes prove to be difficult. However, I absolutely love the Milkshake brand for all your hair care needs. This color care smells absolutely amazing! It is almost like a baked floral scent, versus fresh flowers. This definitely helps protect my colored hair while also being extremely gentle on my extensions. I absolutely love the Milk Effect 12 in 1 leave-in treatment. I actually use this as a heat protectant, but it also helps put moisture back into my hair without drying it out. It’s also safe to use with my extensions which I appreciate. I normally use this product, but in a different scent, however, this scent is heavenly. These products do exactly what I need them to do by helping protect my color treated hair without fading while adding shine and softness back into my hair. I definitely recommend this brand.

I am very impressed with this hair care system. The smell of the shampoo and conditioner has a light scent of apple flowers. It smells clean and fresh – not perfumy. The consistency of both was less vicious as I was expecting, but the shampoo foamed and lathered very nicely and the conditioner made my hair soft. I only had to use less than half the typical amount that I usually do.Everything rinses clean nicely. My long hair, which typically tangles when went, was sleek and soft. I didn’t need to use the included detangler. While the detangler worked fine, it did seem to hold the moisture in my hair and my hair took a little longer to dry.My hair did not feel over conditioned or sticky after use. I have been using this daily for several days and am very happy with how my hair feels so clean and silky. My scalp feels very clean also.I like that the ingredients are vegan friendly.
