    I love that this is a clear gel!

    I absolutely love that this is a clear gel opposed to the white. The white scares me because sometimes the clumps don’t come out, but with this clear gel I don’t have that fear.The gel smells really good and the scent lasts throughout the day even on my son’s hair.My son is six and he wore this a few days last week in his hair for school. It still made his hair look soft and not crunchy or gross. I will say that it’s not a super fabulous hold, but it does okay for a six year old and his rambunctious lifestyle of playground parkour with his friends.

    Good, but on the more expensive side

    This is a good styling gel, but the price is a bit hard to ignore.It has a nice medium hold that gives some control without making my hair feel overly stiff or crunchy. I liked that it helped define my style and added a little shine without feeling heavy. It also worked well without leaving my hair looking greasy or weighed down.That said, it is definitely on the expensive side for a hair gel. I liked the performance, but I’m not sure it does enough to fully justify the price compared to other decent styling gels. Good product overall, just not the best value.

    Effective for providing curl definition to curly hair that just looks messy

    milk_shake Medium Hold Styling Gel for All Hair Types has proven to be an effective gel for my naturally curly hair which lacks curl definition unless I use a styling product that works with my hair. This program gives my hair definition of curls without a crunchy effect. My curls turn out touchable with movement.I prepare to apply this product to my hair when it is towel dried. I section my hair off into 4 large sections with clips to get parts of it out of my way.I apply this gel sparingly by putting a small amount between my fingers and raking in into one section of hair at a time. It doesn’t take a lot of product.After each section is done, I scrunch my curls up around my face and the crown of my head and let it air dry the rest of the way.This Medium Hold styling gel has a fruity smell when I put it on, and this smell lasts at least a day.

    Lightweight, Expect More Hold for “Medium Hold”

    I have fine hair, but a lot of it. I have to be careful what gel I use for my curls, as too much can sometimes cause a crazy crunchiness, but I like a bit of crunch (gel cast). Unfortunately, I cannot achieve any kind of gel cast with this gel, which I understand it’s medium hold, but it doesn’t seem to hold much for me at all. It adds slight definition. However, I still use this product and enjoy it for periods where I don’t want too much product in my hair, it’s very light weight and it’s perfect for those occasions.

    Great for touchable waves

    My hair routine consists of a lot of what is easiest to do and quick since I’m at work before 6:30 most days. I don’t have the energy to wake up early and get myself and the 3 kids ready and still have time to do my hair. This medium hold gel has been a great addition to my morning routine of wash and go. I usually leave things to air dry and this is easy to apply to my hair after toweling it mostly dry. I have a slight wave pattern to my hair that usually means it dries into a big unruly frizz unless I use a brush and heat. But using this tamed the mess while still letting me air dry. It also didn’t leave any weird texture on my hair which I’ve had issues with in the past. I like it to feel soft like it has no products in it. For ladies who have a similar hands off routine, this is something to consider.

    I received my tube of medium hold gel by Milk Shake and was excited to try it out. I recently cut my hair shorter with lots of wispy layers so the hair stylist had shown me different ways to style it using a gel for keeping the shape.I really like this formula, it’s not too heavy and not too light. It’s definitely a medium hold just as it claims. This gel does not leave your hair “crispy” so it looks quite natural when using it after drying your hair. I found that the style stayed “adorable” all day and until I actually brushed it out that night. For reference, I have straight blonde hair and the stylist cut lots of fun layers into the end of it, so this is what I wanted to be able to style with the gel.If you think of “grape jelly” that’s the exact consistency of this styling gel, only it’s clear. The scent is so clean and fresh and absolutely intoxicating. I had always stayed away from the old heavy type styling gels because most of them left my hair feeling stiff and fake, but this Milk Shake styling gel leaves my hair soft to the touch and does not have that “wet” look once applied. This gel provides my short haircut with both body and volume. I’m really happy with this styling gel and I’d consider it to be along the lines of a salon quality gel. I’ve tried other drug store brand gels and tossed them immediately after using this one. It’s everything I’d been trying to achieve with a styling gel.I think it’s priced right in line with other quality made styling gels and definitely worth the investment in your hair if you want to use it for styling layers. The hold was fantastic but not stiff or crunchy and my style lasted all day. I’d highly recommend giving this styling gel a try if you’re trying to create a lasting fun style with your hair. Oh, and a little goes a long way so this tube will last quite a while for me!

    Exactly what I was looking for

    I have shoulder length hair with no bangs. Most days I use a little gel at my hairline to keep my hair off my face. I want a natural look, not a stiff hold, so it doesn’t look like I am using gel. I was interested in this product because it is a medium hold. I also look for products that will not harm my hair. This gel has panthenol and protein.I applied the gel as I usually do, after my shower, at my hairline. It has a mild, pleasant fragrance. I let my hair air dry, as usual. When it dried it looked stiff, as gel typically does. After I ran my fingers through the gel in my hair a few times, the stiff look was gone, but the hold was effective and remained. There was no visual evidence, (except for the hold) I had used hair gel. The hold lasted all day.This is exactly what I look for in hair gel. I am very happy with this gel!
