    Leave in condish–delish!

    Good stuff. Could not find at my Target locally, or my regular grocery store, so I ordered it here.I bought on the recommendation of another curly girl, Caucasian, who is friends with a woman who is Indian-American, also with curly hair; they both use and love this stuff. Their texture is very different from mine– thin, fine and wavy, vs very curly.My African -American friend has super thin, fine hair and felt this did not work as well for her, but she is very tightly and kinky-curled, and her texture is even more coarse and rough than mine.I am Caucasian with very thick, coarse and bushy, spiral-curly hair underneath and looser, less spirally curly hair on top. It is not thin or fine anywhere on my head, and it has various types of curl throughout (spiral, wavy, kinky, and weirdly, almost straight)– and lots and lots and lots of frizz.I can only use this right after washing my hair. If I try to put it in my 2nd or 3rd day, unwashed hair, it can feel too thick and stiff, and does not perform the same as when put in wet.It really helps hold the curl pattern and reduce frizz, though I still do use Frizz ease or another silicone/dimethicone product as my hair has no natural shine due to its coarseness/roughness. I do not have issues with silicones or derivatives, as my hair is so very thick–if it were fine or fragile, I would not use them.I air dry and never blow dry; I do not straighten or flat iron my hair. I do not use curlers or rollers of any kind. Not for everyday–maybe once in a while for a special occasion.Leave-in condish is a great addition to my hair-care arsenal. It is not too expensive, lasts a long time and does not have an unpleasant smell. I do not break out on my hands or head when using this regularly, which happens often enough with other products I have used.

    Fantastic for wavy, loose curls

    Works wonderfully on my wavy/loose curls! A little goes a long way. The instructions say to towel off excess moisture before applying but with my hair type I’ve found I get better curl definition of my hair is still very wet. I apply it before leaving the shower – a dime size or less was enough when my hair was long, and now I use a pea sized amount that my hair is shorter. I gently scrunch extra moisture out with a Turkish woven towel (peshtamal) and let my hair air dry. I get great, loose, soft curls with very little frizz. I usually spritz in some humectant (Frank Juice by Oyin Handmade – it’s fantastic!) for extra frizz control before leaving the house.I do want to note that I only wash my hair 1-2 times a week because I’ve found my hair seems healthier and my scalp is less irritated by less frequent washing. On days I am not washing my hair, I spritz in humectant before and after showering and gently finger comb my hair.

    I was so impressed by this product, I had to write a review right away. I’ll update it if I change my mind.I have 4c hair that gets dry like the sahara desert in the ny summertime, even with all the humidity. Like bone-dry. I came home day after wearing it in a bun, and spritzed it with the oyin spray, but that hardly helped at all. My hair still felt like the desert, with maybe a sprinkling of rain that evaporated before it had the chance to penetrate the ground. So, I tried this product. Bam, my hair is manageable and soft. It was absolutely miraculous. Like, I could actually comb my hair right now if I wanted to, whereas before that would have got you a hello, no.The price for this product is reasonable in comparison to others. I really hope my opinion doesn’t change – I love the stuff right now. HG product!Update: I tried another two products on a product-junkie binge. Never again! Miss Jessie’s Condish is the best! I will never touch anything else.Update: when I want a lighter product, I mix this with some water and some refined coconut oil. Glorious.Love.this.product.

    Does not seem like genuine product

    This left my hair solid and crunchy, tried to persist in the hopes it would work for my curly hair but ended up in the bin. Smells like cleaning products and I am not entirely convinced if this is the genuine product. It was gloop and thick and very difficult to squeeze out of the bottle to actually be able to use!

    Great professional product!

    I was going to return this because I wasn’t completely thrilled with the smell. But, when I paired with the soft curls gel, it actually smell quite nicely (I mixed the two together before applying). My only negative comment would be that it is really thick and I have a really hard time getting this product out of the bottle. So much so that I’m thinking about adding water to it. All in all, it’s a really nice product. It leaves my hair really soft and it’s not greasy feeling either (as long as I don’t put to much in). My hair is really shiny too. Although, I’ve not tried it alone. I think the combination of the conditioner and the gel works fabulous together! I would so order this product again.

    I bought this after the jelly curls didn’t really work for me. This didn’t really work either. I have pretty silky hair but it frizzes horribly because it is so porous, and more moisture doesn’t really help the problem- it needs to be sealed. I liked the way it made my hair feel after it was completely dry, but that took hours. It weighed my hair down and made it look flat and until it was completely dry it made my hair tangly and sticky. The sticky feeling went away but it took a long time. If frizz fighting due to porous hair is what you need, look elsewhere.UPDATE: I actually started using this with a squish to condish method or super soaker method and it’s really working for me. I think the key for me is using it when my hair is absolutely soaking wet, then it doesn’t make my hair crunchy and flat. it’s keeping my curls together really nicely and reducing frizz! if you haven’t tried the squish to condish method you should […]The key is that once your curls clump together you don’t touch them AT ALL. I usually do this, then when I get out of the shower i grab a t-shirt and squeeze the water out of my hair and it has changed my life.

    This stuff is great

    I have low porosity, thick, 4c hair. My hair’s natural tendency is to afro. It is not affected by gravity. This leave-in is awesome. I apply after shampooing and conditioning in the shower while my hair is still dripping wet. A little goes a long way (about half a tablespoon for me). That’s saying something. My hair typically drinks hair products, but not this leave-in. I can achieve a passible wash n go with this stuff if I want to as well (although that takes a bit more than the dollop I typically use!).I also use this on my daughter’s hair. She is mixed and has 3a/3b, fine, high porosity hair. I use a tiny bit on her hair when wet and can detangle her whole head quickly. I also put the Pillow Soft Curls product on her hair and it works great. Had originally gotten that product for myself but it was too light-weight. I’ll be trying the Curly Buttercreme for myself instead as I need a heavier product. :)I bought a couple bottles of this leave-in at eight bucks a few months ago. I guess it depends on the seller, but I have a feeling Miss Jessie’s will be phasing the bottle out in favor of the tube they now provide. This stuff is thick and hard to squeeze out of the bottle. I have to store it upside-down.The smell took a little getting used to but it’s not overpowering and deminishes once the product is fully absorbed into your hair. If your hair is crunchy/coated after applying and drying, you used too much. Scale it back.

    I had been using cheaper spray detangler for the longest time and have never really been happy with it, it’s either sticky or crunchy or doesn’t really soften my hair fully. This stuff is suuuuuch a great alternative! I already loved their jelly soft curls product so decided to give this a try and I’m not disappointed! It smells nice, kind of baby powdery, but not overpowering and it softens my hair instantly and makes it so easy to comb. My hair is not very thick with wavy/looser curls and gets extremely dry, this stuff moisturizes like crazy and doesn’t leave my hair heavy when it’s dried. Also, I’ve noticed wayyyy less frizz which is great for living in the texas heat and humidity! This is definitely my new go-to.
