    Pleasant masculine scent, good lubrication, goes on clear, comparison to shave cream…

    I admit that I am more of a shave cream guy, and less a fan of shave gels like this. That being said, this does seem like a quality product. It is a clear light-green to bluish gel, which is comfortable on the skin, and it provides very good lubrication for the shave, providing a very comfortable shave. It does not foam up nearly as much as the more traditional shaving cream that I usually use. I can see how the gel being clear might be a benefit for those wanting to see portions of a beard or sideburn that they do not wish to cut, but on the other hand I still prefer the white foam of a shaving cream. I also enjoy using that shave cream along with a badger bristle shaving brush, and I am under the impression that this product is meant to be applied directly by hand and not by brush, based on the printed instructions, though I suspect one could try that if they preferred. Without that white foam, it is more difficult to see which parts of your face you have already shaved and those you have not, because this clear gel looks essentially invisible on your skin, leaving shaved and unshaved areas looking quite similar. I find myself re-shaving some areas just to make sure that I did actually shave all areas of my face. The scent is pleasant; I would say that it is a somewhat medicinal masculine scent. So, I do like this shave gel, though I do plan to return to a more traditional foamy shave cream.

    Allows for a Close, Irritation-Free Shave!

    This arrives in a chic container. It’s the type that you might leave out on your vanity on purpose. And the pump is excellent. It dispenses the spot-on correct amount. No waste here!This can be directly applied to your face or it can be turned into more of a lather with a little water and some rubbing. (My better-half prefers the latter).This has a light, contemporary scent that he really likes. (I will admit, it smells very nice!) And, this allows for a very close shave with no irritation (even on very sensitive skin).This is so effortless and effective that we will buy this again and again. What a difference! Highly recommended!

    Great for brushing it in while showering

    I always shave in the shower after washing my face and letting my beard get a bit softer. I use a brush with either a shave gel or a shaving soap. With the Murdock gel I don’t have to use much at all, usually one pump from the bottle. The gel goes on nice and easy and provides a very slick lather for shaving. I have one other shave gel that provides a similar slickness/lather but it’s much more expensive than the Murdock product. The gel makes it feel like the razor (either straight razor or five blade razor) is just gliding over the surface of my skin with very little drag. No cuts, no burn. The scent is very mild, which I like. I don’t need a shaving gel to play wake up games with my sense of smell. Preparing your beard is half the battle but the shaving soap/gel/cream is the other half and this product prepares your skin nicely. Recommended.

    Wanna smell like medicinal smoked pork

    I didn’t actually shave with this since the smell was so horrendous. It’s akin to, like the title states, medicinal smoked pork.I did put put two pumps in my hand and followed the directions and the consistency fell off with a slight bit of foam. That did not seem like it would lubricants the skin

    I am always trying different shaving creams and this one for me is the best. Bought it first on vacation in a gift shop and then bought it from Amazon. Big difference in price. Amazon was the cheapest.

    It’s over priced, but I buy it because the bottle is a good shape and looks good in the bathroom. The blue gel is just the right consistency. I don’t like the London label, they should rename it.

    Bought as a gift for my husband who normally using standard, high street shaving foam. He absolutely loves this and from what he tells me- best shave gel he ever had. Didn’t use myself obviously but by the sound of it I can highly recommend. Lasts very long as well so good value for money

    I switched to this a year back, and have been using it since. It’s a lovely gel that works well with my gil.lab razors. I have “sensitive” skin and uses this after shower.Two squints of this and you are set. Lovely product.

    Really nice shaving gel

    I stopped using canned shaving foam many years ago. These days I prefer a wet shave with a brush and soap. However, I was very interested to see how much better or worse my shave would be using a gel.Had my first shave this morning using this gel from Murdock London. There were a few pleasant surprises here. First, you really don’t need much of this to get a complete shave. As the directions indicate, two pumps and warm water produce a fairly decent amount of lather in the hand. It’s kind of difficult to call it “lather” as it’s not a huge soapy mess like canned foam would produce. Instead, it’s an abundantly slick gel that spreads easily across the face and under the neck.While it may not look like much once applied, the real joy of using this gel is discovering how well your razor glides across your skin. I would say that as someone who has been using some form of soap most of my life, this gel provided the most effortless shave that I ever had.And while this Murdock London gel isn’t cheap, I do give it high merits on its shave quality and the fact that a little bit goes a long way. For that reason, you should get a considerable amount of very comfortable shaves out of this 8.5-ounce bottle.
